Description of Work: We received estimates from Titan Contracting for a Master Bathroom remodel. Due to reasons not associated with the company, we didn't end up using services; although, were very happy with the professionalism and ideas presented by Erik and would be more than willing to re-engage at a later date.

His estimate was very reasonable, and in line with the other, most competitive bids. We had intended to use his services, but a family member who does this type of work volunteered to come stay with us for two or three weeks and do the project with us.This will save us over 75% of Erik's estimate. Our decision to make the project DIY was in no way a reflection of our expectations on Titan's services. His online portfolio, available on his website, appears to be very professional and high quality. He was extremely responsive when scheduling an appointment and provided a written, line item estimate within 48 hours. In the future, when we are not so fortunate to have donated labor, we would gladly go with Titan.
Description of Work: Erik came to estimate our kitchen renovation for labor, as we had already purchased our appliances and materials.
We had a work date scheduled to start to put in a kitchen in an empty space in our basement, scheduled to take about a week. However, our cabinet supplier totally dropped the ball and forgot to order our cabinets, which was not discovered until they were not received by the work start date. Erik calmly helped us work around this nightmare and got done what work he could without the cabinets there during the slated time for the project. We were afraid that we would get bumped for months with the missed days of work, it was very reassuring to know that he would find time to get the work done as soon as possible. Thankfully he was extremely flexible for us and actually helped us navigate a SECOND missed deadline for the delivery of the cabinets and worked for two weeks between other jobs to finish our project when the cabinets were finally delivered. For the record, the cabinet supplier was not at all affiliated with Titan, nor was it a suggested/recommended vendor. We are so grateful for Erik and the work he did not only for us on the job, but also to be so compassionate to get the project done as fast as possible when so past scheduled time. The plumbing/electrical was contracted out, and the work was great but whoever the contractor was on that job made a mess of our house and damaged our sink. We did not have to go through the awkward pointing of fingers for this, Erik took care of all of the problems with that himself and provided compensation for the inconvenience that they had left. It really meant a lot to know he would right any problems himself and take care to make sure everything was right in the end. Erik and Travis were wonderful to work with, very professional, punctual and honest. We would not open our home to just anyone, but we honestly felt safe with them doing the work. The work looks spectacular, the price was great and we can not be more grateful for their ability to work through the delivery nightmares with such professionalism.
Description of Work: Provided the following services: Remodel existing space into a new kitchen Installed cabinets and countertops Installed appliances and fixtures All plumbing and electrical associated with the kitchen Removed existing bulkhead to raise ceiling Rerouted plumbing to raise ceiling All drywalling and painting associated with the remodel Added a bulkhead in a closet around an existing duct Price included services listed above as well as countertops and construction materials. Price did not include appliances, fixtures, or cabinets.

No work was done as they did not respond to my request to be contacted.
Description of Work: I left the company both a voicemail at their phone number and filled out their on-line "contact me" me form aabout a month ago but I never heard from anyone. Maybe they didn't like the project I was proposing (enclosing a porch plus some other work) but a company that gets the ratings they seem to get should at least have the courtesy to respond.

Response from Titan Contracting LLC
I did have a voice mail from this person but could not make out what they said the phone number was. We have been having problems with out "contact me" link on our web site. Email is the best alternative. We always return phone calls even if we are unable to complete the work.
We were extremely pleased with all aspects of the work . Erik is exactly what one wants in a contractor--prompt, professional, direct, and communicative. He showed up when he promised he would; he completed the work on schedule (except when intervening factors, such as Kraftsmaid delivering the wrong cabinet, prevented this), and solved unanticipated problems quickly and to our satisfaction. Moreover, the final cost was not far off the original estimate, and the overages were due to unanticipated issues that could not have been discovered prior to the demo. Finally, we are extremely pleased with the quality of the work. This is the second time we have used Titan, and I plan to use them again.
Description of Work: We hired Titan to install a new kitchen; to frame, drywall, and paint a new interior wall and install a pre-hung door; to install pot lights in living room.

The work went well overall. Erik and his men showed up when they said they would and let me know that they wouldn't when weather conditions didn't allow them to work. The owner Erik returned calls by phone and e-mail in a reasonable length of time. The work in the back of the house went very well. The work to repair siding was done well despite not being able to get the original size materials. They made what the could get work and look great. The shed doors and paint job on the shed and the fence looks nice and was well done. The dryer vent not only looks great, but works well. The front of the house was a different story. The support board under the bay window was cracked and rotten. When the first person from Titan installed it, it cracked in virtually the same place as the original board. The first gentleman tried to caulk it to hide the crack but it didn't work. After Erik came back to look at the work he agreed that it needed to be done again. A week later or so he scheduled another person to come and do the job. The first attempt by the second gentleman also made the board crack when he tried to install it. But to his credit he went to Lowe's and bought better materials and came back and installed it the right way! He was working well after dark to complete the installation. In couldn't paint it that night so he came back again a few days later and painted it. He stuck with until the work was done right and did a really top notch job. One of the soffit screens had to be cut and did not come out even on the end due to where it had to be cut. The do what they say they are going to do and when they say they are going to do it. Erik stays in communication with you and is willing to make things right when they aren't up to par. He charged for the work as it was estimated and was very realistic about what he thought he could accomplish in the time and budget given. Overall, this is a great company and I certainly plan on using them again in the near future.
Description of Work: Titan contracting replaced wood and painted it under my bay window in front of my house. They also painted trim at the top of the house and my gutters in front. They also removed wasp nests from window moulding in the front. In the rear of the house they replaced and painted rotten siding, installed a dryer vent, and installed doors on my shed. the painted the shed and my back fence that faces the street. The also replaced the soffit vents at the front and rear of the house.
Compared to other contracts I've used in the past, these guys were great to work with. Prompt, fair estimate. What I liked about them most is that they stayed on the job. It's not a company where subs do most of the work, so you are at the mercy of when the subs show up. These guys showed up when they said they would and just knocked the work out. They got a lot of work done in a short amount of time. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Kitchen remodel: Take out wall between dining room and kitchen, replace countertops, tile backsplash, recessed lights, tile powder room and laundry closet. Other: Build pantry, replace interior door, install hardwood on entire first level, build basement laundry closet, tile two other bathrooms.
I had a bad experience several years ago when we added an addition to our house, so I my guard was up when Eric came to give us an estimate. Eric showed up on time, which is a big thing in my book. I was a little put off by the tattoos and ear piercings, but impressed by Eric's direct, no-BS demeanor, his honesty, and the fact that he is a veteran. We talked and walked through the list of projects that needed to be done, most of which were separate, small jobs. We told Eric we couldn't afford to do them all at once, so he agreed to estimate them separately and schedule them when he had gaps between his larger projects. When we got the estimates, we were shocked at how reasonable his rates were, so agreed to do the first two projects at the same time. The first project was to tear down the wall separating an office from a home gym, to tile the gym to match the office flooring, and to move the electrical outlets to be able to put up a flat screen TV. The second project was to remove carpet from the MBR and lay down slate tile. The first schedule gap coincided with a one-week vacation, so we turned over the keys to this stranger and hoped for the best. Eric had estimated a week for the project, but his team finished in 3 days. I inspected quite thoroughly when I came back, and found his work to be top notch. His team expertly matched the tile, the louvered doors hung perfectly, and he replaced molding he wasn't required to under our contract to make everything look perfect. He found matching tile and fixed the tile in my bathroom, as well as the doorjams. And the bedroom floor was perfect. All for about half the price I had originally budgeted. Since that first project, Eric has come back to fix roof fascia torn off when a tree fell on the power lines, and replaced 3 older double-hung oversize windows with sliders - all done to perfection. I've had him back now to estimate a kitchen remodel. The things I appreciate about Eric and Titan Contracting: 1. On time- I hated having to wait around for other contractors who weren't punctual - time is money in both directions. 2. Honesty - No BS, he told me what the issues were, talked through alternatives, and then delivered at or below the agreed upon price. 3. Flexibility - Working with me to coordinate work to meet my budgetary and time pressures. 4. Attention to detail - Eric fixed baseboard molding to make it perfect, even though it wasn't in the contract, and his team left my house cleaner than when they came in. 5. Promises kept - Eric promised the first job would be done in a week, and it was done in 3 days. Eric called 30 minutes before the window guys arrived to give me a heads up to expect them, which allowed me to do other taskers. Overall rating - in 10 years in the WDC area, and multiple contracted projects at my house with a variety of contractors, I have to rate Eric as the best I have seen in terms of timeliness, professionalism, honesty and quality of work. I have already recommended him to my friends who are doing projects, and have even recommended him to my boss. He'll be doing the rest of the projects at my house.
Description of Work: Eric remodeled our basement to expand our home gym, finished my remodeling job of our upstairs bathroom, laid tile in our master bedroom, and replaced 3 windows.

Titan Contracting is very professional and great at communication. The work was very complete and I was very happy with the whole experience. They are very straight forward and follow through on their prices and the time estimates they give.
Description of Work: Titan Contracting did some woodworking for me.
I have used Titan Contracting LLC several times, and have always been very happy with their service. No job is too big or too small for them. Some contractors would have you buying a new refrigerator when an old one begins to rattle, but Titan Contracting LLC found a simple adjustment to fix the problem. Erik Quam is a good, honest man with integrity and Christian values. I highly recommend this company. They value customer service and their relationships.
Description of Work: General repairs and touch up paint work to a rental property I own to prepare it for new renters. And, when the renters moved in, returning to fix the "rattle" the refrigerator makes.

This is the second time we have used TITAN CONTRACTING and it definitely won't be our last. It was another smooth, stress free, and extremely timely remodel. They quoted the remodel to take about a week, and finished up 1 day sooner. They were there when they said they were going to be, put in long yet extremely productive work hours. Would always keep us informed of what was to take place next, who was going to do it, and how long it was going to take. Were not hesitant to contact us if there were any discrepancies in the floor plans (which were always very minor, yet still wanted our approval). They were in a sense perfectionists, which you sometimes don't see in contractors. Very organized and extremely thorough. They always cleaned up the workspace and kept any tools that needed to be left behind in a secure location, which since I have 2 small children I was very appreciative of. They were nothing but polite and courteous to myself and my family. All in all, it was another fantastic experience and we will be using them again this month for another home remodel. If you choose TITAN CONTRACTING, you will see that home renovation does not have to be a completely stressful experience.
Description of Work: Bathroom Remodel: complete demolition, placement of new ceramic floor, baseboards, bathtub refinish, ceramic wall tile, plumbing and shower head/faucet replacement, drywall, new toilet and sink installation, interior painting, electrical, new venting system, hardware, and cabinet installation.

Erik and his crew arrived promptly on Thursday morning, demolished the water damaged area of my small kitchen, and had the floor finished and the cabinets in place by evening . His granite subcontractor replaced the Silestone counter the next day. They all did a fine job, and we had a functioning kitchen by Friday evening. When a couple of problems showed up, Erik returned promptly and took care of them. I would definitely use Titan Contracting again, and I will recommend Erik Quam to friends. I was very impressed with his skill and work ethic.
Description of Work: When we replaced our dishwasher last April, we discovered that it had been leaking behind the cabinets. Three of the cabinets and the subfloor were damaged. I did not want to remodel the entire kitchen, but wanted to use the existing doors and drawers with new cabinet boxes. It was a relatively small job, and two other contractors failed to get back to me with an estimate. Erik Quam listened to what I wanted and emailed me an estimate the same day. Kraftmaid, the manufacturer of my cabinets, is no longer making my style of cabinet. Erik ended up fabricating the cabinet boxes himself, and did an extraordinary job.
He never followed up and gave the quote. I'm not sure what happened there. They were pretty responsive for coming out for the appointment. There was no follow-up.
Description of Work: We contacted them to do a wall.

Customer wanted a quick turn around in receiving the estimate. Customer did not send required documents for me to inquire about certain issues with the county. I was leaving town the following day and made the customer aware of this. It is my fault for assuming that because they did not email the document like they said they would and knew I would not be able to get them an estimate for a few days that they were not interested in working with us. Like they said we are very responsive to our customers. We are not pushy with customers. When they don't follow through like they say we do not push them to do business.

Erik and his team were fantastic from start to finish. He was fast to give an estimate. Once I selected Titan for the job we scheduled the start day. He and his team arrived punctually at 7 am to begin work. He kept me informed about progress along the way. He finished the job (on budget), they cleaned the job site, and it seemed they were never here. I am very pleased with the results. The most telling thing I can say is that we plan to hire him again soon for some remodeling projects.

My husband and I were immediately impressed with Erik Quam. He was very responsive to phone calls AND he reads his emails! I was not home when Erik first came by to provide an estimate but my husband told me he was very polite and knowledgeable. Erik later followed-up with phone calls to clarify some details of the work so that he could provide us with a clear and accurate quote. His follow-up from start-to-finish on this job was excellent!! His team of Travis and Kendall arrived promptly at 8:00am as requested. I have some glass tiles on my bathroom floor and there was no damage at all to them. The work area was completely covered. The end result is a beautiful bathroom and we are very pleased with Erik and Angie's List for helping us find him.
Description of Work: My bathroom walls, ceiling, and all trim were painted. Vinyl wainscoting was applied to one wall from ceiling to floor to hide imperfections on that wall. An old door and frame was removed and a new prehung door with frame was installed with new hardware and the door was painted. They installed our new vanity/sink combo and faucet.
My husband and I finally decided to gut our very outdated kitchen. We hired an interior designer who recommended Titan Contracting to do one of the bids for us. They came over to bid very quickly and had the estimate for us the next day (which was a saturday). We were thrilled. The price was very reasonable. The price points were outlined for us on the contract exactly how much money went to what part of the job. They were able to start at our desired start date (three weeks from the original bid). On the first day they had our entire kitchen (medium size) gutted. Everything was hauled away and they even got on their hands and knees to clean up the dust from our hardwood floor. They also protected them by using tarps. Because my young daughter has asthma, they took extra precaution and sealed off the kitchen at multiple entryways. They arrived everday at the exact time they said they would arrive and even asked if they could come earlier on certain days if it did not disturb my girls and neighbors. They arrived many days at 7 am and did not leave until 5 pm. By the end of the first week they had demo'ed our entire kitchen, installed ceramic tile flooring, grouted, widened doorway, and all the electrical completed and gas line moved. The cabinets and appliances were scheduled to be delivered at the beginning of the second week (Monday to be exact). By the end of week two they had all the cabinets, accessories, and hardware installed. Our cabinets had pull-out drawers, and soft closing feature. They were not just "simple cabinets." They had all our appliances installed. All of the window, trim, baseboards were primed painted and installed. The third week the granite company came out and measured for our countertops. They had a 4 day turnaround time. At the end of the third week, all granite was installed as well as the sink and faucet. The dishwasher was hooked up. The fourth week they began the backsplash, table assembly, messageboard building/assembly, and hanging of large mirror, and light swich plates on the backsplash. Not by any fault of Titan contracting, our interior designed made a slight mistake in measuring and we did not have enough tile for the backsplash. We had to order more which took a few days. However, by the end of week 4 everything was completed except for the grouting of the backsplash due to my husband and mine's "misorder" of tile. They come by at the beginning of the week and grouted and hung the completed message board and then the job was complete. Each day they were here they cleaned up after themselves, replaced any furniture they needed to move for the job, and were always working. Not only were they very professional, but they were very personable as well. They played with my dog. They talked and played with my daughters. They showed a dedicated work ethic and knew exactly what they were doing. There were no hiccups or "problems" at all. My husband and I were surprised by that since this was our first experience with a contractor and we had heard horror stories about "remodels gone wrong" from so many people. There was nothing AT ALL like this with Titan Contracting. To say that I am thrilled is an understatement. If my husband and I do decide to remodel anything else again I would not hesitate to call them. I would recommend them to family and friends in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: This was a complete kitchen Demolition and remodel. The scope of work was as follows: Remove and dispose of existing cabinets, sink, faucet, flooring, countertops, light fixtures, and bulk heads. Remove and relocate appliances to the basement. Remove and save dishwasher and disposal for re-install. Widen entry way . Install recessed lights. Install new ceiling fixture box and light fixture over new table location. Install under cabinet lighting. All lighting to be on dimmer switches.. Replace outlets, switches, and plate covers. Install GFCI outlets where needed. Install dedicated circuit at new stove/microwave location. Install new outlets along oven wall per code. Delete existing ceiling fixture boxes. Run gas line from utility room in basedment to new stove location. This requires cutting holes in ceiling of family room in basement. Holes were patched, texture matched and painted. Install new cabinets, cabinet accessories, cabinet hardware, and associated trim work. Install sink, faucet, disposal, microwave, range fridge and dishwasher. Install tile backsplash. Install underlament for floor tile and install floor tile. Install wood threshhold between tile and hall flooring. Install baseboards. Prep, prime, and paint walls, ceiling, trim, and window. Build and install message board.

I emailed Mr. Quam about a project to, among other things, remodel my bathroom. He replied to that email one hour later! We quickly made an appointment to meet so that he could take a look at the space. He was amenable to meeting at a time that fell outside of regular business hours. On the day of our meeting, he emailed to confirm our meeting time. He was 5 minutes early to our meeting and took his work boots off upon entering our home (wow!!). During our 45-minute consultation, he answered all of our questions with ease, confidence, and sincere knowledge. He said ?I don?t know? if that was the case and offered to find the answer that evening (which he did). We never felt like he was trying to "up sell" us, he never used confusing contractor jargon, and we never felt rushed by him. The very next day, we received his estimate. He reflected everything we went over the day before and the price was quite reasonable. Although we ended up going with another contractor, we had quite a time deciding not to hire Titan Contracting (it boiled down to materials being included in the other estimate). The bottom line: I had no qualms with Mr. Quam!! He was professional, polite, punctual, and patient (not to be confused with the 4 provinces of Ireland). The communication between contractor and potential customer was perfect. Based on my positive experience with Mr. Quam, I would recommend him without reservation.
Description of Work: In order to give us a detailed estimate regarding remodeling our bathroom and laying hardwood floors throughout the house, Erik Quam, Owner/Project Manager of Titan Contracting, LLC, visited our home (at our convenience, i.e., not during regular business hours) to look the space over and discuss with us the work we wanted done.

We were running out of time to finish a project to renovate the bathroom that we had started ourselves. We hired Titan to finish the bathroom, which consisted of tiling the walls around the new tub, the tub apron, and the shelf behind the tub. We had ordered our own custom tile and wanted a specific pattern. Erik, did a superb job of it. He also had some great suggestions that improved the quality. He was patient when the tile didn't arrive on time. He was also professional, prompt, accommodating and clean. I was very impressed with his work and would definitely recommend to a friend.

Our house is 12 years old so we decided it was time to remodel. We heard about Titan Contracting and Mr. Erik Quam from some friends. I contacted Erik and asked that he come out to my home to talk about my wish list and provide estimates for each task. Erik was very polite, extremely professional, and a pleasure to deal with. Erik's workmanship is outstanding. My wife and I couldn't be happier with the services he's completed to date and we keep adding to the list. I think the best compliment I can give to Titan LLC and Mr. Erik Quam is that I've referred him to several of my close friends that are looking for a very talented, honest, and hard working contractor.
