I was in a tight spot because we needed to get some repairs done in order to close on our house, within a very short amount of time. I searched Angie's List and saw that Titan Construction had a great reputation, so I sent them an email. Erik gave us a really reasonable estimate, and he was able to fit us in to his schedule within a week. He and Casey were very responsive, professional and personable. They arrived on time and knocked out the work in no time at all. I would highly recommend them to friends and neighbors.

Excellent experience with Erik, Casey and John. I have a simple 12 ft galley kitchen that was tired and poorly functional. It was time! I had contacted Erik and we met a few times. He made a few recommendations initially and we agreed on a start date. He estimated that this would take 3 weeks. Due to poor planning at one of the big box stores and several re-orders the job took much longer than planned but it wasn't due to Titan Contracting. He was very easy to work with especially with some changes and re-work that had to be done. Made all requested adjustments and fixes quickly and with quality work. I would use again.

They were in the middle of the four estimates we received but we went with them because we felt like they struck the right balance between telling us what needed to be done and doing what we wanted. I would absolutely call them again if I needed anything else done. General positives: - very responsive by e-mail and text - same four people doing all of the work - personable, responsible crew - good resources for finding fixtures and supplies - timely (We were trying to get both rooms done before a wedding and got derailed in the middle by the stomach flu. They hustled to meet the deadline.) - cleaned up the work site every day - made the four week process as painless as possible - estimate was accurate; price quoted was price charged Notable positives: - when we couldn't find the exact threshold we wanted, Erik made it for us. - questioned the size of the medicine cabinets before they installed them (they were right, they were entirely too big) - loved on our dog and took care not to release the cat

I would say overall the job went well. The owner is not a small talk kind of guy at all and can even come across as kind of a jerk at times. His work is good though and he was clear and concise about what work was going to be completed. He always showed up on time, was professional and made sure the job was done. His tile guy is not the sharpest tool in the shed and his work is just OK. We ordered all supplies ourselves and are new at home remodeling. I had planned to do the bathroom myself but we were trying to have a baby and I didn't think I should be around all the particle dust and paint which I explained to the owner at the consultation. Anyways, the bullnose tile we ordered did not match the regular tile in the shower...yes our fault for not ordering the right stuff but the tile guy put it up anyways. We really wish someone had called us, we thought it was weird that no one called us before putting the tile up. When my husband got home the day it went up, the first thing the tile guy said to him when he walked in the door was "the tile doesn't match".... My husband asked him why he didn't call or tell someone but the guy didn't really have an answer. Sooo we ordered the right tile and the owner agreed to fix it... for a price of course..... so the tile guy comes back but then he only does part of the bullnose tile and not the whole thing. ugh. We decided to call it quits with this company after that. I wouldn't hire them again just based on our experience. However, despite a small area of mismatched tile, our bathroom does look very good.
Description of Work: I had a guest bathroom remodel job that I hired Titan for. I did all of the demo myself and got the bathroom down to studs and plywood. Titan tiled, grouted, put in the tub, vanity, furnishings and toilet.

Titan Contracting was fantastic from start to finish. To start, there were several revisions made to the estimate of work as I went back and forth with my insurance company for work to be done. I then added additional work to the project that my insurance company would not cover. Erik updated the quotes at my request and got back to me in a timely fashion. Once work began, Erik arrived with his crew on day one to review all the work to be done and to be sure I was comfortable with everything. He let me know what time to expect his crew and if there were going to be any changes he contacted me promptly via email. The crew made every effort to minimize the mess, though difficult due to all the demo, and cleaned up after their work was completed every day. They were all extremely friendly, but kept to their work to get the job done on time. When I had questions about the progress of the work Erik always responded to me in a timely fashion and relieved any concerns I may have. Chuck did the tile work, the most substantial portion of the project, and did an outstanding job. He ensured the tile was laid out in the pattern I wanted and made suggestions on where my accent tile should be placed. Erik also made suggestions on grout color, but every decision was my choice. They were never pushy. I felt that Erik and his team were committed to exceptional work with every attention to detail while staying on schedule to finish in a timely fashion. The goal was to get the job done right and he never tried to "up sell" me on anything. Erik was honest and fair and I would hire him again for other projects.
Description of Work: Titan Contracting was hired to do repair work as a result of two leaky valves in my shower (plumbing work handled separately). They tore out the damaged portion of my living room ceiling and replaced the drywall being careful to reinstall all crown moulding and paint the entire ceiling with a fresh coat of paint to match. They created an access panel to the shower valve through the back of my closet where a whole had been made by the plumber to do repairs. They tore out my entire shower walls and floor and retiled the entire shower area and reinstalled the pre-existing shower doors. They also removed a header wall above the shower to improve ventilation and installed a light/fan combo in the bathroom.

Titan Contracting recently completed a remodel of our family?s master bathroom. Our home was built over 60 years ago, in 1951, and the bathroom was original. Like most bathrooms built then, it had many "interesting? qualities that reflected the era. Everything was yellow ? floor, tub, sink, walls, ceiling ? and hidden underneath the floor was a couple tons worth of cement. Fortunately Erik, Titan?s owner, was familiar with features like the latter and accounted for the work to remove the extra cement, amongst other things, in his cost estimate. Throughout construction, my wife and I were delighted to see Erik and his team apply the same level of attention to the rest of their work. They are the most courteous contractors we?ve ever worked with. This was especially helpful because my wife was nine-months pregnant during the first 3 weeks of construction (demo time), and she was home with our 2.5-year-old daughter every day. We also appreciated how Erik always asked us for our input when he encountered a task that we hadn?t discussed with him. Conversations like it were an important part of making sure my wife and I were happy with the end product. Erik also brought great ideas to every discussion, which always expedited any decisions. His "eye for design? is something else that sets his company apart from other contractors. I would highly recommend Titan Contracting for your next bathroom remodel or any other construction job. Their team is first-rate, dedicated to high quality work and happy clients.

I had been trying to get someone to fix my detached garage for at least 2 months. I called all the handy man people listed on Angies List. No one wanted to take the job. I called Eric with Titan Contracting and he was gold!. His crew did an awesome job. They were timely, and professional. Thank you Eric!

I have used Titan in the past for 2 bathroom remodels. They went great, so when I decided to paint my trim work and wood doors in my house, I asked them to perform the work. Erik was very thorough in asking what I wanted and the work was performed very professionally and quickly.

I would highly recommend Titan Contracting. I decided to use them after receiving a couple of other estimates for 2 bathrooms that I wanted completely remodeled. When Erik came to do the estimate, he asked a lot of questions about how I wanted things done. He took a lot of time and when I received the estimate it was very detailed and clear about what would be done. This was a big difference from the other estimates I received. It made me feel immediately that there would be attention to detail and this continued throughout the project. He always made sure to ask how I wanted things done, or exact placement of things as they were done. We had a lot of tile to be removed from older style bathrooms and this was a very dusty demolition. They made every effort to contain the dust by putting up plastic "walls" to channel the dust directly out of the door and keep it out of other areas of my house. My friends were very impressed with how much prep went into keeping things as clean as possible when they visited. They cleaned up and vacuumed each day before they left. Everyone who came to our home was always professional and respectful. Anything I brought to their attention was addressed and taken care of. The quality of the work is great. The bathrooms came out even better than I pictured. I feel that the entire experience went better than expected. I would use them again with no hesitation.

He charged us $20 for coming out and it was something that was really simple that he didn't charge us anymore. We were able to get an appointment really quick. They came out when they were supposed to. They were really quick when they came out. He seem to know what he was doing. It was not expensive. I would probably call them again.
Description of Work: I used Titan Contracting. We had a leak in the tub and he basically just came out and said it wasn't anything coming from the sink, it was just the caulking around the tub.

I feel beyond frustrated today as I write this so I can only be glad that I had not actually hired Mr. Quam to do any work on my rental property. I joined Angie's list specifically for a good referral for some repairs that I need in a rental property that I own in Hampton Roads. I live in another part of the state. Upon looking at reviews I was most impressed with the glowing reviews of Titan Contracting and had really hoped to work with this company. Reputation is very important to me. I attempted to call the company several times on Monday, March 10. I left one voicemail in the morning and one later in the afternoon. No response. I also sent a quick email on March 11, via Angie's List, asking someone to please contact me concerning work I needed done in a rental property. My phone number was included. No response. Later in the day I sent a request for estimate on the company's actual website. At 3:56 pm on March 11 I received an email from Erik Quam apologizing for not being available by phone recently. He also stated that he did not have any other email from me (via Angie's list). Mr. Quam indicated that he had taken about a week off work due to a stomach bug that ran through his house. He indicated that he was just getting back to business and offered me an opening next Thursday between 7-8 a.m. I responded back to Mr. Quam as I was unsure if he was offering me Thursday, 3/13 or Thursday, 3/20. I received a reply on March 12 indicating that he was originally referring to 3/20 but he had an opening on 3/13 between 9:00-10:00 am. His exact words were, "I was referring to the 20th but I have an opening tomorrow morning between 9-10 am so I'll be there tomorrow." I sent Mr. Quam an email to confirm the time and asked him to please call my tenant if something should come up and he could not make it. As I stated earlier, I no longer live in Hampton Roads. I made arrangements with my tenant to be at home this morning to meet Mr. Quam. At 11:30 am I received a phone call from my tenant who was concerned that Mr. Quam had never showed up nor did he call. I left two voicemails for Mr. Quam as both a (703) and (757) number were listed on his website and email signature. My tenant missed time from work to be available to Mr. Quam. It would be nice if some level of courtesy was extended to the customer. I should have gone with my institution when I couldn't get a courtesy phone call back to even arrange a meeting. I understood that Mr. Quam had been sick and overlooked his lack of initial responsiveness as I realize that sickness does happen. I was still willing to hire his company for these needed repairs. I am greatly disappointed that I have wasted nearly a week with this company and even more disappointed that my tenant was inconvenienced. It is now noon and Mr. Quam has made no attempt at all to explain why he was a no show this morning. I hope that his work exceeds his customer service efforts. I'll take my business elsewhere. Mr. Quam did finally contact me at 2:28 p.m. (not noon as stated) on the day of the missed appointment. In his voicemail he explained that he had arrived at my property at 8:45, rang the bell and left after 5 minutes of waiting. Unfortunately for me, his email had indicated that he would arrive between the hours of 9:00-11:00. My tenant had driven less than a half mile down the street for a coffee at 7-11, in anticipation of waiting for Mr. Quam. My tenant arrived back at the home at 8:55 and waited for Mr. Quam until noon. I understand that Mr. Quam is frustrated with my review however, I don't understand the logic of leaving before the promised arrival time. This appears to be a situation where they missed each other in passing. It doesn't make sense to me though to blame the potential customer for not being at the house when he arrived 15 minutes early and did not stay until the scheduled appointment time. Also, the response from Titan Contracting directly contradicts the information (regarding time) that was left on my voicemail. Again, I have no reason to make this up, just sharing my experience. It is too bad that we can't upload voicemails. Best of luck to all!

As [members name] stated she does not live local so I was to be meeting with her tenant. I arrived at her rental property at 830am the day I said I would and waited until 850am to ring the door bell and stood at the door while their dog barked and no one answered the door. Rang the door bell again and knocked around 855am, again the dog barked and no one came to the door. Waited a few more minutes, then left. I called [members name] around noon the day of the appointment to let her know her tenant was not there that morning and in the process of trying to get my 2 toddlers out the door in the morning I had left my phone so I did not have her tenants contact info to call when they didn't answer the door. later that evening she sent an email stating that she had found someone else to look at the repairs. Working with a landlord that is out of town is not easy for both parties and we have done so numerous times with no issues. Its just frustrating when their tenant does not do there part.

Erik Quam and Titan Construction worked two major projects and a few minor jobs - all went extremely well. Bottom line up front: Highly recommended and I would engage Erik again for other major work without reservations. First they removed a sunken hot tub from our 16 x 20 sunroom floor and placed it on our rear deck. The hole in the floor was covered including floor joists and sub-flooring. They removed all the existing ceramic tile, placed new underlayment and retiled the floor - all work on all projects was completed by Titan with the exception of moving the hot tub electrical panel from the sun room the the deck(completed by a licensed electrician). They repainted the entire sunroom which was no easy task(19 casement windows, 2 doors, 2 custom windows and vaulted ceiling). Sunroom - A+ | |The other big job was the Master Bath. Here they removed a jetted tub and separate shower. They removed all old ceramic tile - the double vanity and sinks were the only things left in place. Erik framed a new huge custom shower and plumbed in an amazing Kohler shower 'system' with 3 wall sprays, a shower head and a separate wand. The best! His crew installed new underlayment and re-tiled the entire bathroom including floor and walls to the ceiling - the tile work is perfect! New huge Kohler medicine cabinets were installed flush at each sink and new lighting throughout the bathroom. A new American Standard toilet was installed - a major improvement over the 'contractor grade toilet' that frequently required a 'double-flush'...never have double-flushed the new toilet! Extremely happy with the entire job. Erik's crew also repainted the kitchen and a guestroom. Some other minor jobs were completed as well. The price included all materials, some quite premium. The bathroom tile was expensive as were the medicine cabinets and the valve set so accounting for these costs - the price was very competitive. Master Bath - A++! Erik did not provide computer modeling to visualize the project - a service some other contractors provide. Erik needs to improve his method for invoicing a job. The invoices were not the easiest to read but his accounting as the jobs proceeded was accurate. Last note, a large acrylic glass block window in the master bath was regrettably damaged during the bathroom renovation - Erik engaged a respected regional window contractor to replace the window at his cost. The window was replaced in a timely and professional manner. I'm sure this significantly impacted his net profit on this job but he took responsibility and made it right without question - an honorable act that I appreciate greatly. I cannot say enough how pleased we are with Titan and recommend them without reservation.

I had been working with Erik since the early summer. He gave me a bid for the work I wanted done. As I got further into the project, I elected to replace a door, side lights and transome and had arranged to have someone else do that job other than Erik. Erik was still willing to do the job even though the job wasn't as large as originally planned. I also had roofers involved and their work had to be completed first before we could go further. Due to our schedules (his and mine), we were still able to get the work done. Erik and his crew were courteous, professional and on time. I have asked him for a bid for some work that needs to be done on my deck and will use him again in the future. When I first contacted Erik it was by phone, but have found that he is also responsive to e-mail once a relationship is established. Good work.

We're very satisfied with Titan's final product. Erik Quam was great to work with - professional, knowledgeable, flexible, informative, responsive and provides a competitive price. Originally just hired for the shower, we added countertop replacements to the job after they got started on the shower and Erik just rolled it in and stepped us through the process with good suggestions on managing cost. We identified a concern with the quality of the tile work in one area and Erik immediately had the tile removed and redone without hesitation or issue.

Erik was terrific with providing recommendations during the design phase, on materials to use, design tips, and ways to save on cost. We provided him with a list of materials and he bought them with a significant discount. Marble tile in both bathrooms came out flawlessly. The workers did an excellent job of cordoning off the areas under construction to keep the rest of the house clean. Erik came back 6 months later when we found some minor damage in a closet (caused by demolition in the adjacent bathroom), and fixed the damage happily. Can't go wrong with Erik and his crews. Very high level of technical competence and experience.

HE was really flexible. We discovered a waterline in the middle. He worked with us on that.
Description of Work: We had him completely gut and renovate a kitchen and turn into a dining room. He did new floors, painted and electrical.

I purchased a Big Deal coupon for Titan Contracting. We got the plans from them but we did not go through with redoing the kitchen because we decided we weren't ready to do it. Their quote price was reasonable. The designs were probably more than what I expected but I was pleased with it.
Description of Work: Titan Contracting designed a kitchen for us. They did the plans for a kitchen remodel with us. He also gave us a quote on the remodeling.
