There is an old idiom we used in the U. S. Coast Guard: "Turn to!" Those words mean "get to work and get the job "done right" and in a reasonable amount of time. Rob Reed and Ashton King, the repairmen from Done Right Home Repair, demonstrated the true spirit of that idiom when they went to work on repairing a broken drain pipe in the outer wall of the kitchen. In less than 75 minutes, these guys removed the vinyl siding, and wood panel to expose and repair the source of a hidden leak which was recently discovered during an inspection of the crawl space of the house. The coordination of Rob's plumbing skills and Ashton's carpentry skills, and their committed teamwork got the job done. I want to recognize the owner of Done Right Home Repair, Greg Moxley, and his office manager, Sandy Barnes, for their kind and patient assistance in completing this job so quickly and at a very reasonable cost. This the kind of response I most admire from contractors and their employees. Many thanks to all of you.

Called Done Right to install/replace siding on the exterior of the basement wall and originally mount 2 televisions. Rick came out and reviewed the work with my wife. We had done some siding work at the rear of the house and wanted to ensure we can match the same materials. Rick took a sample but was not able to find an exact match. No problems, my wife and I were able to find the materials. Rick talked us through what we needed and we purchased the materials. His original estimates were great. Of course we made a few adjustments, instead of mounting 2 TVs we only did 1. The day of installation, Rick's crew arrived promptly at 8am. We had a slight miscommunication since we had originally asked to have the old wood siding removed and add plywood before installing the siding. We immediately contacted Rick, and he made the necessary adjustments and his crew finished everything on time. Bottom line, the siding looks great! Rick's team did a fantastic job. We are going to ask Rick to provide a cost estimate for additional work to include removing our front porch and possibly building a new one.

I had some other estimates and they were way below. They were half of what other people wanted for the doors I wanted. The owner Greg, I can't think of his last name. He was punctual. He came and checked on them when they were doing the work. He made a couple of adjustments I wanted made with no problem. They were very professional. He kept his word. Everything they said they did. Their price was charged right.

Called the first week of November to request estimate. Estimate was in hand by November 10th. I went to the office on November 12th to sign the contract and make initial payment. Once there I saw a huge whiteboard with all the jobs ahead of me. Sandy advised me that it most likely would be December before they would be able to get to my job. Actually seeing all the jobs ahead of me provided two things: (1) it reinforced the rating I saw on Angie's list because surely they would not be busy if their work and reputation was lousy, and (2) allowed me to be more patient in waiting for my job to commence. The repairman, Warren, called on December 9th to set up an appointment the next day to come out to see what supplies he would actually need to purchase prior to starting the work. He stated his job was to make sure I was happy with his work during the entire process. During the job, he would constantly seek feedback as to how I thought it was looking and if I was "happy". I liked that Warren made use of as much of my good railing that he could possibly use. Many other contractors would have simply purchased new wood which may have run the price of the project higher. He always explained what he was doing and why he was doing it. He also made some suggestions to increased the odds that the railing and posts would last another 30 years. The next day the painter arrived to seal and paint all the front porch railing and posts. He also did an excellent job and sought feedback to ensure I was satisfied with his work. Warren came back the next day to take care of some finishing work and to re-install the gutter downspout. Bottom line: I was extremely pleased with the work and more importantly the cost. It had taken me several months to fine someone willing to do the work at a price that was acceptable to me. I would definitely call on them again and recommend them as well.

It went very well .. He was a few min early even.. very polite and respectful and when he was finished he cleaned up the mess and even asked me if i had a vacuum offered to use it to clean up what he could not with his hands! He helped put the sound bar and other electronic devices on the proper shelves as well and helped me hide those unsightly wires and cords.. What a relief to find someone that can do these things as well as the Big things!! I only wish I had not taken my end table back now lol.. I Will be calling Kenny back again you can count on that ..We will be buying a home soon I told him so I will be needing Bid things as well as things like today done!! Had a nice conversation on and off with him as well as I felt comfortable enough to continue on about with my to do list as he worked ..He was he less than 2 hours ! That TV entertainment box sat on my floor for over a week I am so happy It looks great just in time for the holiday company ! Thanks again

.They were on site when I arrived and were finishing up. Details ? See above. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Yes,I would recommend Done Right.
Description of Work: Thunderstorm came through the area accompanied by wind gusts.A 14 + ft. section of vinyl siding was blown off up near the roof line and there were a few smaller sections of siding that had been loosened by the wind; they were re-attached.
There were some issues due to the odd way that this condo is plumbed, but they got that figured out. Greg was very easy to work with and Devaughn, the supervisor of the job was also easy to work with. There were a few problems along the way and they responded well and figured everything out. They failed to purchase a complete batch of tile and I had to get some for them from another store that didn't quite match. Devaughn blended the tiles nicely. The grout upstairs seemed too close in color to the tiles themselves, so I requested darker grout for the bigger job. Unfortunately they did not buy enough of the darker grout, and when they bought more the color was very different. They got this fixed by using an opaque sealer, but this made a bit of a mess on the tiles themselves. I was able to steam clean the tiles and it's hard to see the problem now. Despite the glitches above, the project went well and I am pleased. It cost more than I anticipated because I want for solid "Cali Bamboo" rather than laminate. The floor looks great and the condo will be easier to sell in the future because of the upgrades. In the mean time it is also more modern and more pleasant to live in. I strongly recommend Done Right Home Repair. They will work with you and do an honest job for a fair price.
Description of Work: We had water damage to parquet flooring that was glued to the slab. They don't make that size parquet anymore. We got 3 bids on new floors with ceramic tile and floating bamboo. Done Right finished the demolition of sections of parquet, replaced part of the parquet with tile and floated a bamboo floor over the remaining parquet. They also tiled an upstairs bathroom and painted the downstairs bath.

As most of our customers know this is the busiest time of the year for us. Please note also that we have deliberately no hired on "seasonal" help in order to keep our quality at a steady level. This does mean longer wait times for appointments for estimates and work start dates. We did meet with the customer in June for an estimate that was for 5 separate tasks; all of which we did price separately. Total price of all work was just about $1000.00 The customer did receive our estimate but had questions conceding one of the tasks, which they sent to us via email. It does appear that we missed a follow-up appointment with the customer. Having received a second email with concerns over the missed appointment we called the customer, apologized and answered any questions they had about the estimate. We do apologize for what may seem to be an indifferent attitude conceding getting to estimates and answering follow-up questions. The fact of the matter is that we get over whelmed with requested for estimates, yet we do try to get to them all. Our production work schedule has a 4 to 5 week lead time. We kindly request customers with non-emergency repairs required understand these factors of our business and exercise patience in working with us to come up with good estimates that result in quality work.

An update on the quality of work performed by Done Right. Homeowner provided top rated Consumer Reports recommended exterior paint. Paint was bubbling on metal entrance door. Instead of prepping surface with steel wool or primer, the Done Right painter just painted over the areas that were bubbling. So instead of a paint job that has lasted 5-8 years previously, it held less than two. Exterior surfaces require preparation either priming or roughing the surface. Would not recommend for any type of exterior painting.

The paint we used was specified by the customer, it does have a primer in it. The door in question was in very bad shape. We recommended replacement as metal doors have numerous problems to include corrosion that is difficult to stop from coming back. The cost to paint the door was not the $300 as in this review; we did other tasks for this customer. We had not heard about this situation with the front door until reading this review, an opportunity to remedy the problem would have been appreciated.

The gutter hung dangerously above the front entrance of the house. Providers called me on my mobile while I was at work and agreed to go to my house (without me needing to leave work) and provide me an estimate. The estimate was significantly lower than the other cost estimates I received from $150-$250! I called them that evening and they came the very next day and repaired the gutters (same ones, I did not need to buy new ones or replace) before I even got home. All of this transaction was done via email, texts, and phonecall not requiring me to be on the premises let alone meet the provider. Excellent prompt response time and quality service! Kudos!

We received several estimates for this work, and Done Right came in below the others, and they agreed to just repair the fence at the back of the property instead of replacing it, plus they allowed us to do our own demolition work, which saved us additional money. Although they got off to somewhat of a rocky start (cross boards were affixed at a noticeable slant on the first side they put up, and had to be taken off and reattached), all in all they did a great job at a very competitive price.

Replaced the original boards with composite boards and painted the new boards. One of the workers accidently broke a vent cover with the ladder. It went great! From the time I called on the phone until the end of the job everything was great! Very professional, clean, finished on time, and there were no additional costs. The original quote was fair and under budget.
Description of Work: Repaired and replaced sub-flooring in 2 apartments
We selected Done Right (DR) out of 3 estimates: they seemed reasonable, professional, and competent. The pergola, stamped concrete patio, and electrical outlet were planned for the backyard. The area is tight because it is in a corner outside the sun room and house wall, but DR made measurements and said it was adequate. PERGOLA: Requested 10x10 ft, white vinyl, with simple slanted end caps rather than the usual decorative ends. We were told this was fine. They ordered a pergola and it had the correct end caps, but it was 7x7 ft. We measured it, found the item online and confirmed that it was indeed a 7x7 ft pergola. We called Done Right and told them of the problem. Their initial response was that the different style end caps are not available in 10x10 ft and 'we had emphasized' the importance of the slanted end caps, so they assumed this was a good pick for us (hmmm...49 SF of shade vs 100 SF). A new pergola (10x10 ft) was ordered and DR gave us $400 credit for the error. The new pergola was erected without any problems, but 2 of the 4 posts are crooked! The lean is easy to see and further emphasized next to the sun room (where the windows are vertical). At this point, I can only wait for the climbing vines I planted to grow bushy and thick to hide the ridiculously leaning posts. PATIO: This took almost 3 months from start, with 2 months of frustration. The job was subbed out and DR did not do any oversight during the installation. The sub showed up on the day scheduled, but earlier than expected (on a Saturday morning before 7AM. Around 10 men showed up to do the stamped concrete patio, but only about half of them actually did work (the others came to socialize). The sub worked hard, got it done quickly, and it looked amazing. At the last step, he cut in the expansion joints and ruined the beautiful patio. The joints were crooked and he tried to fix it by widening them in spots (resulting in crooked and wide joints). Other things about the sub: lunch litter left all over the yard, dumped stained soil (from the concrete coloring) at the back of the yard and by our fruit tree, tools and equipment left all over the place, asked us for fuel for his equipment, gravel not cleaned up from driveway and road, and his friends came back to sell other services. We called DR about the awful cuts and the owner came and admitted that this was a problem and he would fix it. A couple of options were discussed of which we were open to a few of them. The sub aggressively tried to convince me to accept his solution of further expanding the joints and installing a brick pattern in the line but this is not what we wanted. DR tried caulking the joints, but it was agreed this didn't look good. Over about 1.5 months, we went back and forth on how to fix it, we called DR often and sometimes they replied immediately and other times not for days. DR had another concrete company come in to see if it could be fixed, but they didn't see a good option. In all this time, the pergola was waiting on our lawn for the patio to be completed so between this and the other supplies, we were not able to mow the grass in this area of the backyard from for most of the summer. Finally, DR owner offered to return all of our patio money (100%-about half of the $5500) because he wanted us to be happy. We had him remove the patio (which he offered to let us keep) and all the rubbish and took our refund. ELECTRICAL OUTLET: An outlet was installed on one of the pergola posts about 1.5 ft off the ground. The wiring (encased in a protective pipe) comes out of the patio ground and runs up the post to the outlet. The pipe was installed more than an inch from the base of the pergola post so it had to be bent so that the outlet box could be attached to the post. Now the piping is not parallel to the post but bent towards it. I guess the outlet works at least.
Description of Work: 1) install 10x10 ft pergola, 2) 14x16 ft stamped concrete poured, 3) add/extend electrical outlet from existing outdoor wall outlet on to post of the new pergola
