I will continue to use them each Spring and Fall for opening and closing the pool. What used to take my family all day, takes them around an hour.
Description of Work: Closed swimming pool for the winter. I have used Aqua Oasis for 3 years now after finding them on Angie's List. In addition to having them open and close the pool, they ordered a new pool cover and installed it, making sure the size was correct.

I had sent a message to the company requesting and estimate to disconnect and dispose of an old spa we no longer wanted. The company was prompt in contacting me and was able to quickly set up a date to come out and look at the project. The gentlemen came out to the house while I wasn't there and called me with the estimate. I thought price was very reasonable. I hadn't planned to have it removed that day but because I thought the estimate was reasonable I asked them when they could do the job. They said they could do it that day. They left to get their trailor and came back and removed it. When I returned home everything thing was done and you couldn't tell someone had been there except for the missing spa. In other words, no damage to the fence or porch/railings. I was also able to arrange payment over the phone so that was very convient. I would definitly refer this company to my friends if they ever have a need for a spa, repair or removal.

I have used Aqua Oasis on multiple occasions in the past, and have always been impressed with their service. Their timeliness is always outstanding, often coming the same day I call. The most recent experience was after my pool pump stopped pulling water, and I suspected a leak in the pipes (which are all underground). The guys from Aqua Oasis came out and troubleshoot the problem to a leaky seal in the pump, which required the replacement of just one (above ground) pipe. They had the problem fixed, and the pump working great again in about 35 minutes, and only billed for 1/2 hour of work. After they fixed the pump, I asked about a problem I had been having with sand coming through the jets into the pool at random times. One of the technicians went to the truck and got show and tell items to explain to me that there was probably a broken spline in my filter. He said they would be willing to fix the problem, but it was a very timely job because they had to drain the filter and remove all the sand to get to it. He suggested that if I drain the filter and allow the sand to dry, it was a very easy project to fix. He then tediously went through all the steps so I felt comfortable completing the job myself. I was extremely impressed with both their work and their thoroughness in helping me.

Overall, I was very satisfied with the service by Aqua Oasis Pool and Spa
Description of Work: I had two separate calls to Aqua Oasis. The first was to replace an underwater light bulb in the pool. It turned out to be a wiring problem which they fixed on a second visit. The next call was to close the pool and get it ready for the winter. They had everything done within 1 hour. I had unscrewed most of screws that attach to the cover but could not get all of them. They worked on them until they had all unscrewed. They took off all the fixtures (ladder, railing, etc), installed new plugs, and drained the filter. They replaced the cover which is extremely heavy. I was so impressed with their work that I have scheduled a date for them to open the pool in May! They are extremely efficient, professional and very punctual. I plan to use them on a regular basis.

From Day 1 I had a sense that I'd chosen the wrong provider. I had a little issue with my Tiger River spa, and Aqua Oasis came out and addressed it. It didn't go well, but it wasn't a terrible experience. Literally days later, a friend of mine noticed an obvious leak coming from my spa. I'd seen the water pooling outside the spa before, but didn't put 2 and 2 together (maybe I was turning a blind eye, as I recently purchased this home and spa). I wondered why Aqua Oasis hadn't diagnosed this obvious leak when they were here, and why my friend (a military intelligence officer, not a spa expert) diagnosed it instead; but I (foolishly) called the company again. They came out and told me they needed to tear the wood and insulation out of the side of the spa to get to the problem. They told me they'd charge $85/hour to do that, or I could do it myself. I agreed to have them do it (and wasn't sure why they had asked me to do it-- dentists don't offer to have you anesthetize yourself before a procedure!). They tore out the insulation (and left it lying on the ground), found the leak source, ordered the parts, and quoted me $280 to do the entire job. They also informed me that a new wooden side to the spa would cost me $200-$300, and suggested I could purchase plywood as an alternative if I didn't want to spend that. So far, so good-- they were giving me options. A week later (they had to order the parts), they came out and installed new hose/couplings-- and left. They hadn't replaced the insulating foam! I called and informed them that they needed to do the foam, as I wasn't paying them to do just part of the job; and they reluctantly returned and sprayed in some foam. Then, their techie told me that I could trim the foam myself with a saw, after it expanded and dried. I'm paying them $280, and they want ME to finish the job? They also told me they wanted to charge me extra for the cans of foam ($3/can), and that felt a little nickle-and-dime. I wrote them their check, and they left. After they left, I discovered that they hadn't used enough foam. They had hardly filled in the gap! I went out and purchased 2 more cans of foam, and finished the job. After it dried, I trimmed it myself and built and painted a really nice replacement panel for my spa (I should have hired ME!). I then tested my water, and found it was all out of whack. I found out from a friend that the Aqua Oasis guys had drained the spa to do the work (and had a little smoke in my back yard while hanging out), then filled it 75% up with water from my hose, and didn't bother to treat it. Great-- more work for me. For the first time, I had to adjust the water hardness, in addition to the usual balancing of Ph, Alkalinity, and Chlorine. That meant a 30 minute drive to a place in Newport News (a great place that I'll review later). It would have been a nice touch if they'd left me a repaired spa, with foam applied as it should have been, and having trimmed the foam, and with water that was good-to-go as it was when they got there. Then, there was the lead guy's attitude. He was "sullen." Yes, that's a good word for him. He wasn't helpful, and treated me like I was an idiot, a sucker, or both. He was passively and subtly rude, doing things like carelessly almost drowning my Motorola Droid (not a cheap phone) via inattention, then saying a listless "sorry" without breaking stride, making eye contact, or interrupting what he was doing. The guy's website says he has a BA in Business Management. I sure hope that's not true. Bottom line: This was not a pleasant experience. If the company rebuts my claims or somehow impugns me or my perspective (which I'm sure they will), just remember: BEWARE.
Description of Work: A simple job: They were asked to diagnose my spa (outdoor hot tub) for a leak, and fix it.
