Response from Tailored Living featuring PremierGarage
In advance and throughout the process, I worked hard to set expectations with the customer regarding the industrial coatings we were applying, and explained that there would likely be some minor imperfections characteristic of industrial coatings. Additionally, I explained that the high gloss, clear top coat that was to be applied would not hide those imperfections like the more typical satin finish would. Unfortunately, I discovered after work was completed that there was not a clear understanding of what to expect. In regards to sealing doors to the adjacent space, they were taped off (I have pictures). Dust was removed thouroughly from the concrete after each of the grinding and sanding steps (again I have pictures). The urethane top coat went down tight and can not be redone even if we needed to. Any effort to remove it would destroy the floor underneath it, and a second coat would not adhere and/or make any difference to the esthetics. In regards to the warranty, it will go into effect upon payment of the significant balance due. As with any kind of warranty, it isn't valid without payment. Once we identified what caused the damage to the thresholds, I acknowledged that it was caused by the cleats worn by our team during coating application. We are prepared to repair the damage at our cost upon settlement of the remaining balance due on the invoice. I am very disappointed that we weren't "on the same page" regarding expectations of the finished product. I believe the floor looks beautiful overall, and I'm still working with the customer to resolve our differences.
