God forbid you to ever deal with this company!!! Arrogant, unprofessional and aggressive. I am not even sure they are legally licensed to perform the services. One of their technicians came to look at the washing machine , after the inspection I was told it is the pump that needs to be replaced. I was charge 250$. I an hour later, David, the technician came and we turned on the machine the smog started coming out of it!!!! I have never see something like this in my life. They tried to use all possible reasons for excuses and blaming that it is OUR fault. Avi, who I spoked on the phone with refused to fix anything or take on any responsibility whatsoever. He hang up the phone and ignores me calls and messages ever since. The machine does not work AT ALL ever since. The result - we have to buy the new washing machine. These people is just a group of crooks, probably illegally licensed if licensed at all. I am going to file a report with the Miami Consumer report.

The initial visit was on mid-October 2017. At the time the oven still worked, but we were advised to not use it at high temps. After about a month of waiting we started contacting United to see when they would be coming back, but didn't feel urgent, since the oven still worked. Then in December, the oven stopped heating all together. We contacted United, and after many unreturned calls, we finally got someone on the phone who claimed they never received the part from the warranty company. We contacted the warranty company and after much back and forth got them permission to purchase the part on their own and schedule the service. This was in late December 2017. It is now mid January 2018, and more calls go unreturned to United. It has now been over a month that we have no oven. I would love to have someone else come out and fix the oven, but we are stuck, this being a warranty claim. We've paid our deductible, but have not been able to get the service completed (I've also complained to the warranty company about both their lack of accountability and United's performance). I am hoping that a public negative review will spurn United into making this situation right. If they do so, I will update my review.
Description of Work: Our oven overheated and we needed a pro to look at it again before we we OK with turning it back on (electric oven). We contacted our warranty company and they sent out United Appliance repair back in October. They determined we needed a new temperature sensor and would contact HMS to get a new part and come back out to install it.

I was calling to schedule a service visit for our dryer. I tried United Appliance Repair because they are a local business and they are well regarded on Angie's List. They must have been pretty busy that day. After languishing on hold for a very long time then getting cut off, I decided to try another company. There are a lot of them out there and all it takes is one little miscue to get a customer to choose another one.
Description of Work: Put me in hold until I eventually got cut off.

Possibly the worst customer service experience I have ever had. The technician came out to check to see why one of my climate control drawers kept freezing. He diagnosed a fan issue (which was later confirmed to be wrong by a different company) and quoted me an outrageous price ($450) for parts and labor. When I looked up the actual price of the parts it was 1/4 of what he told me for just the parts. I told the technician from the start that I had home warranty insurance and that I needed to get an invoice to send to the company to ensure everything was covered while he ordered the parts. I never received a call back from the company telling me the parts were in, even though he explicitly stated he would call back by the end of the day. I gave them a week and called back to get a rude response, that they have the parts. I tried to schedule an appointment with the technician and asked him for a break down of parts and labor for the insurance company. He didn't call me back, he just sent a text stating: "...We don't provide any other information about the prices. We only give you the estimate including labor. Part. Service Call. Warranty. Shipping and Handling. So let your insurance company know about our rules...." When I called the management about this I could get no straight answer and was told that I needed to tell them up front about the insurance, which I did. After three weeks of calling and never getting a call back regarding the invoice I had to threaten to come down to their office to get my money back before I could speak with someone. When I finally did I was told it was my fault for not telling them up front about the insurance and that they would make an exception and give me an itemized invoice. At that point I was so fed up I asked for my money back and they sent me the service fee. I will never deal with them again, and I will never recommend them to any other person.

Said they had to order a new drum and should be a few days. 2 weeks later and 3 unreturned phone calls our dryer is still broken. It seems like a scam to come out for a few minutes to get a $59 service fee. Would never use them again.

Overall, it was a great experience. We were fortunate to find someone who could come out on such short notice. We had called him at 7am on a Saturday morning. He answered rather quickly and was able to fit us into his day.
Description of Work: Sammy came out on a Saturday for a same day emergency repair. We were not sure exactly what was wrong with the refrigerator, just that it had spilled gallons of water onto our floor and into our basement. He asked for the make and model of our refrigerator and told us the hours he would be out to fix it. He arrived within the specified time, with the right parts to make the repair, and had everything up and running pretty quick.

The tech came out and said the fridge needed a new filter housing. I gave him my credit card for the service call but it was not charged because I had them do the repair. They came and did the repair plus they noticed that the water line to the fridge was kinked. They did that too and only charged me for the part($30). I was pleased with the whole process.
Description of Work: My water dispenser on the fridge door was sent allowing water to go through. There was a problem with the filter housing.

The technician, Salim, was very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. Salim rendered very good customer service. He explained to me the problem, although I already knew, and showed me the problem before and after he fixed the bad oven ignitor. I highly recommend United Appliance Repairs and am very glad I visited Angie's list before deciding on a company to fix my oven. ASA and thank you Salim.

Description of Work: Refrigerator was not cooling. Technician came out and said it was out of Freon. I agreed to have Freon added. Tech used a piercing valve and installed a small can of Freon after advising me that there was no guaranty on Freon but before he told me the compressor sounded "funny." The frig never cooled. The next day a technician from another company advised me that a piercing valve is for extraction only and that the technician must be EPA 608 certified. I then checked to see if United is licensed by Maryland DLLR to do business in Maryland and discovered they are not licensed and the LLC is not registered in Maryland to do business. The receipt I received shows a flat rate of $185, the coupon provided by Angie's list was apparently not honored and there was no Maryland State tax charged for the Freon. Would I use this company again: NO! They also listed my refrigerator as an Admiral when it's actually an Amana.

I was incredibly pleased with using United Appliance repairs. My washing machine stopped working last Friday at 4:30. I immediately went to Angies List and called 4 difference Repair companies. United Appliance Repairs was the only company where someone answered the phone on a Friday at 4:30. The person on the phone was very friendly. I had a strange schedule on the next day, the Saturday, and United Appliance Repair honored that schedule. They were there when they said they would be there. Sammy, the technician, arrived and quickly diagnosed the problem. He had it fixed in 15 minutes. He gave me a discount because I am an Angies List member. I would immediately call United Appliance Repairs if I had a large appliance problem again. I highly recommend them.
