My bathrooms before TLG were a battlefield requiring the expertise of a special forces team to custom design and build them anew. In the time consuming process to select this team and before I knew about TLG, I first contacted FBT Tile and Marble with whom I actually contracted and placed a 5000 deposit toward the project. I really thought I had it licked until Frank, the owner, came to see my house about 16 days after taking my deposit. Frank looked at the sad state of my bathrooms and viewed the high quality of my state of the art kitchen, additions and renovations to my house. Afterwards Frank told me that he didn't think he could live up to my expectations of what the bathrooms would be like and wasn't sure he could relocate the toilet and would return my deposit. I was devastated that this triple A ranked company walked away from the contract. Frank referred me to Collins Tile and Stone but this company required that I contact a designer and engineer that they recommended. That would have been an additional cost of over two grand. This idea was completely unnecessary as Collins lacked the experience to address load bearing walls and design the bathrooms. I wanted a company that could roll it all together. After further research I found a kick a** company with chutzpah T.L.G. Tile, Inc, they knew how to address load bearing walls and move toilets. These guys were the A team I was looking for and they expertly addressed all the issues foisted upon them on this project. The main event was handling the load bearing wall which was precisely renovated to allow for an additional five foot depth to the middle bath. Every step of the way they met my expectations from a detailed contract, drawings, marble carrera vanity countertops, mosaic tile products, high end furniture vanities, moen equipment, excellent light fixtures, professional painters, professional tile masons, plumbers, and electricians. Pricing was cheaper than FBT, the cowards that dropped out the last minute. TLG coordinated everything perfectly, the quality of the work was outstanding. This is a family operation and the owner of the company, Todd, often comes out to check up on the quality of the work (not that this was needed). I really enjoyed working with all of the guys who proudly showed me the stages of their work. Everything was timely completed looking beautiful, and all evidence of their presence totally removed and left as neat and tidy as before they arrived. I can't speak highly enough of this company! Kudos to TLG!!!!

TLG completed our second bathroom remodel in October, and they did a fantastic job for us - just like the first bathroom remodel in 2012. Todd is outstanding at providing guidance on what can and cannot be done (we have small bathrooms), provides detailed estimates, and doesn't apply any high-pressure sales tactics. He also checks in on the job to make sure everything is going well. Laura has outstanding design abilities - she helped me match the right cabinetry and sink top with the tile. The bathroom is spectacular (and, yes, I got my garden tub). If I had a third bathroom, I'd happily use them again. It was a great value, great service, and great results!

We received an estimate from several companies and were most impressed with TLG's thoroughness and willingness to listen to our ideas when designing our room. Estimate was detailed and presented without pressure. TLG is a very professional and friendly company. The owner, Todd, was punctual with providing the estimate and starting and completing the remodel. TLG's showroom is not large but has an outstanding selection of tile, vanities, cabinets, etc. We were not overwhelmed with too much selection. Todd and Antonia are consummate professionals. Their extensive selection of tiles and fixtures in the showroom at first seemed daunting, but the combination of Todd's experience and Antonia's designers keen eye (and patience), simplified our design process. Our next remodeling project is the kitchen and we will only use TLG for the project. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a professional vendor with high quality materials and workmanship and a commitment to excellent customer service.

I stopped by this provider's showroom the first week of September to get an estimate. I left the information requested on the form given me, including my contact information. I also left photos and a diagram of the bathroom I wanted worked on (replace tub with custom shower, retile as needed, replace window with glass brick wall). I was told that Todd would contact me if he wanted to do the job (or words to that affect). It's been almost two months and I have not heard a word from these people. If they didn't want to do the work they should at least do me the courtesy of calling me to tell me so that I could find another company to do the work. This is very unprofessional, especially from a shop that has received so many A ratings on Angies List.

TLG did our master bathroom earlier in the year and did an outstanding job. Based on that experience, we had them come back and do our foyer and guest bathroom. TLG is a small, locally owned company with big-company services and amenities but small company customer service! They have a showroom and the owner's wife is very helpful with the selection of everything from tile to tubs/toilets and hardware. They provide a "one-stop" shopping experience which was invaluable to my husband and I since we didn't have the time, or desire, to go shopping around to different vendors looking for tile, toilets, lighting, hardware, etc. The owner brings out the materials you select so you can see them in your own home environment before the orders are placed. In both instances our jobs were completed within the time frame they gave us -- they renovated the last two bathrooms in one week! Work crews arrived promptly at the time they told you they would and cleaned up after themselves every day. The owner came by just about every day to check on the progress of the work and to answer any questions we had about the work being done. We had a few items that needed to be followed up on after the last renovation (ordering another piece of hardware, fixing a piece of molding, etc.) and, again, the follow-up work was completed in a timely manner. We won't hesitate to use TLG again for future renovation projects and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a professional vendor with high quality materials and workmanship and a commitment to excellent customer service.

Found TLG from Angie's List then visited their small but efficient showroom. We found the owner and his wife very helpful with suggestions. They took great effort to limit dust and placed protective covering where appropriate. The work effort and professionalism of all TLG workers was impressive. Communication during the project was excellent - both on site when questions arose and daily check ins by Todd (owner). The work and quality was beyond expectations. All work was done professionally and with excellent trade craft. TLG replaced an existing tub and small shower with an oversized walk in shower and replaced the old shower with a custom shelf and storage area. Using frosted glass doors between shower and toilet area the new doors brought much needed lighting into the sink area. New cabinetry, lights, and of course the towel warmer, have made the master bathroom showroom quality. We were slow on posting our review, but we can say that time has not dampened our thoughts and several months after completion we are still delighted customers. We highly recommend TLG.

I would like to apprise Angie's List subscribers of my excellent experience with TLG Tile of Woodbridge VA. The firm gutted and rebuilt the master bath in our 35-year old house in April 2012. I did extensive design, product, contractor research before I began my search. I visited four contractors in Northern Virginia with a very detailed spec list and had each visit and appraise our current bath situation. From each I requested the same specific breakout of prices for labor and similar materials. The prices for three contractors ran from $14,500 to $27,000--and the highest continually threw up roadblocks as to how difficult moving pipes and wires was and how much extra small things would cost. What a downer! Todd Gilbert not only had the most complete showroom, but his price--$12,500--gave the most bang for the buck. He has done over 3000 bathrooms. That price included taking half a closet from an adjoining bedroom to enlarge the shower, installing and venting a fan in a second full bath, repair of an unrelated J-trap in a half bath, and extensive wallboard repair of a dining room ceiling and a 24-foot living room wall that the previous owner had botched when he swapped out sliding doors for windows. His Angies List credentials were impeccable, and his team lived up to them. For an additional $400, his painters did the ceilings of every room on our first floor. (I could have done them, but what a pain in the neck...literally). One rarely notices ceilings, but they really freshened up every room. We had a kitchen sink fitting burst on the second day--totally unrelated to the bath construction--and Todd called back his plumber from a job in D.C. to make the emergency repair for a nominal fee. He brought all tile, fixture, and cabinetry samples we had chosen to our house, including possible alternate floor and shower tiles. Good that he did: after laying them in the room, we swapped out the nearly black floor tile for a lighter grey that looks terrific. Todd promised no more than a seven-day job and, but for a cabinet contractor that sent the wrong width base pieces to accommodate the custom granite top, he would have made it. His crew arrived every day at 8, consulted with me when I got home from work about 5, and cleaned up the site every evening. I am really picky about home repair, so I can say with confidence that their skill levels were top-notch. The Moen fixtures were a definite quality step up from the Lowes and Home Depot fixtures by the same manufacturer: all brass/no plastic. We only had one glitch: the under-mount porcelain sink bowl developed an egg-shaped crack below the overflow hole after seven months. It was a manufacturing defect. TLG ordered a new one on the spot and installed it. Otherwise, the bath has been glitch free. Todd or his deputy communicated with me nearly every day. I have recommended him to several friends. Todd is now doing a three-bath job for one. I see this friend every day: so far, so good, he reports. In 30 years of using contractors for various jobs, none come near to measuring up to TLG Tile. We will have TLG back soon to tile our (now wooden) kitchen floor and install backsplashes. This outfit is first class, their staff are consummate professionals, and their prices cannot be beat in Northern Virginia.

Our experience with TLG was rewarding. We now have a master bath that looks like something on HGTV. Beautiful. I get compliments galore. We received many quotes for this job, and TLG gave us not only one of the best quotes but we felt confident that Todd and his crew would do a good job. All of my questions were answered and any issues quickly addressed. TLG is a very professional organization. Not only would I use TLG again, I would recommend them to everyone I know! If you are going to renovate any room in your house, get a quote from TLG. You won't regret it.

TLG Tile was recommended to me by my realtor, whom I trust. Turns out my realtor has sent a lot of jobs their way, which was helpful to know. While there are many reasons I am glad that I chose TLG, I thought I'd focus on the things that seem to be different from the other contractor options: - They are really punctual. Excepting for one timing misunderstanding, the guys and Todd (the owner) were always on time, which many who has repairs and renovations know is really unusual. When you're carting back and forth to the office and home, being on time is really improtant. - One stop shop. All of TLG's specialists are either in house, or they seem like they are, which is the same to me. There were never delays on an electrician, plumber, etc. because they all work on the same team. - Design. My new kitchen doesn't fit into a mold really of the "typical" contemporary design that was not discouraged by Todd, nor was I pushed into more "regular" choices (like the other contractor I spoke with about this project). - Timing. The projected timeline was basically met. They projected it to be a five day project, and it was six, only because after gutting the space, they realized the room was so off-level that more work needed to be done to level the floors and walls - something they did without charging me extra. My other contractor options quoted me 2 - 3 weeks for the job. The work crew was friendly and helpful, and where there were a few small errors, everything was corrected right away, without hassle. Todd seems to take the details personally & seriously, which is a good quality to have in a contractor. I have already recommended the company, and would use them again in the future.

Todd Gilbert and TLG TIle were recommended to us and we'd seen TLG's work in our friends' homes. TLG Tile did great work for us, too. Our remodeled kitchen looks great. Todd came out to look at the job on the date scheduled, and did a great job of listening to what we wanted. Todd then made valuable suggestions that really made the kitchen "come together." The drawings/blueprints were good and easy to read, and Todd left samples with us to help make our final decision. When the work began, the workers worked hard, fast, and did great work. Todd checked in frequently. The price was good and with convenient, customer-friendly terms. We're still waiting on one or two minor finishing touches, but we wouldn't hesitate to recommend TLG Tile. Excellent job!

Very well. Very helpful in designing and making choices. Work crew was punctual, polite and clean. Work areas were thoroughly cleaned before they left each day. Work was very good overall. Only slight disappointment was with overall quality of bathroom cabinet units. Looks very good, but finish does not appear to be top quality. Would have paid more if offered a better alternative. This aside, the company did a very good job for the money and I highly recommend them to others.

Even their advice on paints were right on, complementing the overall look. An unexpected design suggestion of Todd's (door opening to outside of bathroom instead of inside) opened up the bathroom considerably. Todd oversaw the project each day, and his team, headed by Curt, was courteous, friendly, efficient, exceptionally neat, and continually kept us apprised of the progress and answered any questions we had. The team was most respectful of our home, even putting plastic over our front glass door to prevent smudges and scratches. The bathroom and surrounding areas were cleaned up nicely at the end of each day. The project, just as estimated by Todd, was completed on time and within budget. In the final walkthough by Todd, he pointed out touchup items we had not even noted. The few, all minor, items needing touchup were remedied immediately. Courtesy continued after the project, where Todd took the time to send us a personal Thank You note - very much in keeping with his personable perspective. We have now enjoyed our new bathroom for almost three months, and are still ecstatic. We feel like we are entering a five-star hotel's bath and spa each and every time (although it is just a tiny space...). We absolutely love it. We highly recommend them. We were so pleased to discover Todd Gilbert and TLG Tile. We had a great experience with them, and now are enjoying our beautiful new kitchen. Beginning with obtaining the estimate and then developing the detailed plan, it was very easy to work with this company. TLG has a small but well-stocked showroom, which is a big plus. We really appreciated the guidance Todd and his wife Antonia provided; they helped us make choices we are very pleased with. All of the crew were very competent and pleasant, and kept the work contained and neatly organized. Todd came each day to check on progress and supervise. We recommend TLG without reservation and would use them ourselves for future projects.

I would recommend TLG Tile. during the process the plumber discovered my water valve was broken and TLG tile replaced at no additional cost ensuring my water on off valve would work in the future.

Our bathrooms were 15 years overdue for a complete redo that was being put off because of all the horror stories one hears of hiring contractors for home remodels especially bathrooms. Thanks to Angies List and TLG Tile, what we thought would be a stressful experience turned out to be a pleasant one. We started the process by selecting five "A' rated companies within a 15 mile radius.We had presentations from all of them within a weeks time. From the start we were comfortable with Todd and impressed with his presentation, books of pictures of previous jobs, and fresh ideas for our bathrooms that he would include in his quote. As much as we wanted to go with TLG right away we waited til we received all the quotes. Thankfully TLG was very reasonable compared to most of the others. One of the big reasons we went with TLG is that it is "one stop shopping". They have a show room with actual bathroom displays and all the materials and fixtures needed to select from (except electrical) located at one place. His wife, Antonia, was super in helping us pick out and coordinate all the colors and styles of everything needed. All the other contractors wanted us to go to various stores in different counties to do all the selections and we had to do all the coordinating of ordering and picking up!! The job started on the date promised. The estimated time was one week per bathroom and it was completed as promised. His crew, Kurt and Juan, were SUPER! They were very courteous, professional, and great at their work and completely cleaned up after themselves. All floors and furniture were covered before the work started. We commented to Todd how great they were at their work and he assured me all his employees were. Todd was on the job daily to check on the work and update us on the progress. If any problems came up or changes had to be made he would be here to take care of it. His favorite expression was " My job is to make you happy". He had his plumber do a lot of extra work to move existing plumbing so we could have the extra space we wanted in our new shower. After the electrician was completely done with his work on the job we discovered that we needed more light in the bath and he had him come out the very next day and install another light. All the work is done by TLG employees except for the electrician who responds to Todds calls right away. We can't say enough about TLG Tile. The company, the employees, and the excellent work made this all a great experience. Our bathrooms are beautiful and beyond our expectations.We highly recommend them. Save your self a lot time, money and work and hire them if you need any bathrooms remodels.

TLG Tile did an excellent job on my recent bathroom remodel. I am more than pleased with the results that have surpassed my expectations. I had estimates from three different contractors and ultimately decided to go with TLG. My old, original 80's ,builder grade bathroom was in desperate need of a renovation, which I kept putting off mostly because all the decision making seemed overwhelming. I liked being able to go to the TLG showroom and see examples of the tiling, cabinets, and examples of end results. Todd and his wife helped me make the decisions I needed to make and keep within my budget. I liked the suggestions they offered, their reputation, the pricing, the ability to complete the whole project in 5 days and just the plain ease of the whole process. The workers were neat and clean and respected all my wishes. They were very accommodating to any small requests and changes that I wanted. I am extremely happy with my new bathroom and am proud to show it off. I plan to do my kitchen remodel next and plan to go back to TLG Tile.

Called TLG to obtain an estimate. Whole company was on vacation. Todd, the owner, called me from his vacation to let me know that he takes his whole company on vacation most years and that he could come out and give me an estimate when he returned. He seems pretty busy but he was able to provide the estimate in a timely manner. He arrived for the estimate when scheduled and not only performed the estimate, but made reasonable recommendations for improvement. Ones that would not really cost me extra, but might make finished project look even better. Very friendly owner. We agreed on a price for the work. His price was reasonable..not the cheapest...and definitely not the most expensive. He was very affordable in our opinion and we decided he would get our business. It took some time to get scheduled and on the calendar for installation, but it wasn't an unreasonable delay. His crew was very prompt and arrived when they indicated they would. The quality of the work seems high and we are very pleased. The crew definitely seems to know what they are doing. Installation of ceramic tile is as much science as it is art and they installed it well. Straight lines and excellent grout work. Our new shower and bathroom floor are beautiful. I highly recommend TLG Tile.

Excellent Job at a very reasonable price! Cooperative and very accommodating. Todd was extremely helpful in assisting us with tile selection and layout. The installation team cleaned after work each day and were very courteous. The crew quickly returned to fix any minor errors. We are very happy with the results and Highly Recommend TLG. Nothing but outstanding comments on the work.

Todd is easy to work with. He is reasonable in pricing and his people do quality work. His tile people did an excellent job on the floor and shower. They take care of and respect your property while they are working. The first thing his people did was cover all of the furniture in our master bedroom with plastic. [We moved to another bedroom while the work was being done]. Every day they covered the floor and carpets that they had to cross to get to the master bathroom. He is pretty much a "one-stop shop". He supplies and/or arranges for everything with the exception of lighting. He does supply the electrical contractor to perform the lighting installation and any other electrical work. On display in his showroom are various tile patterns for the shower/bath which makes the selection process considerably easier. With the exception of the fabrication and installation of the frameless shower enclosure, the work was done in about 5-6 days. This was a major remodel job and it was pretty much painless and went off without a hitch. I did have a few minor items that needed correction/attention and he arranged for those to be taken care of promptly and without question. His painters do an adequate job. I do agree with another reviewer who would have like to see more supervision on the job. I don't think it would have made a difference in the end product but, at the very least, someone should be looking over the final work once completed before seeking final payment. That did not happen on my job and it would be the only small complaint I had. UPDATE: We are currently in the process of planning another bathroom remodel with TLG as well as some additional tile work. That would seem to be the highest recommendation I can make.

Todd was pleasant to work with and conveyed a personal standard of perfection before the work was done. The estimate was certainly reasonable for the work done. After an initial scheduling snafu, a date was agreed upon and the work started on time. The bathroom was substantially completed by the end of the week but some of the work was done sloppily. The light fixture had to be recentered; the bottom of the door had a hole in it from a bad attempt at putting in a screw-in doorstopper ( that was left looking like it was attached by rubber cement); there was paint splattered in the hallway outside the bathroom; the specific vent I requested was not added until after I complained, and looks terrible with the tile cut around it and after the the paint came up when they replaced the old vent and they just covered it with clear sealant. The shower and tile work look good, but after a few months I had to call Todd and ask for him to send someone over to do corrective work because the grout where the floor meets the wall was cracked throughout, as was the seal where the tub meets the tile in the shower. An access panel installed in my child's room was not attached to the wall; the toilet was replaced but not the rusty, painted green hardware connecting the toilet to the wall, and several other small things really bothered me because while Todd conveyed high standards of perfection, that didn't seem to match his team's and I never saw him again after paying the deposit. Everything did get fixed after I complained, except for a couple of things that couldn't be done easily (like the rough vent installation) but I felt those things were obvious and I shouldn't have had to point out that most of the things were unacceptable. Overall, a good value and a nice bathroom but Todd sold me on his perfectionism and if his workers don't meet that standard, he or someone else needs to be overseeing their work more closely.

Todd and his crew were very professional, clean, on time and good at what they do. The two tile men that completed my job showed up on time every day and made sure the carpet was covered from the front door up two floors to the bathroom and cleaned up every evening when they finished. I am very happy with the quality of the job and had a pleasant experience from start to finish. I would definitely use them again with future projects.

Let me start this review by saying we are very picky customers. We have actually needed our bath remodeled for close to a year and did not get it done because we could not find a contractor who we could trust to complete the project to our specifications. We ended up putting in our own cabinets. But we do not know how to tile so we called TLG. TLG put in a new tub, heated flooring, tiled the floor and tub area. TLG installed a new window (where there was not a window before) and finished the project by painting the room. TLG did a wonderful job. The workmen actually smoothed out the ceiling before they began any other work. This was not brought up in the original contract and we appreciated the fact that they saw this needed to be done and they just did it. The tile looks beautiful. The heated floor works wonderfully. Most of the other contractors did not want to put in a heated floor and TLG had no problem with it. Not sure why most others won't do that but others said they have not installed them in other homes. TLG has installed them and Todd (the owner) said he was not sure why others were not since it is not a huge deal. The new window lets in tons of light. I would have given TLG a prefect score of A+ except for one issue we did have. The workers did not clean up at the end of the job as well as they could have. There was still some dust that needed cleaning up and the nails in the wall where they put up a tarp to stop the dust. We told Todd about these things and he said he would speak with the workers about this. If this little bit of clean up would have been done it would have been a perfect score.....and trust me, we do not give out perfect scores easily. The fact that TLG earned an A is extraordinary. Over all we were very happy with TLG and my brother is in the process of having them put in tile in his bathroom. When it is time for us to get new tile for our second bath we will call TLG tile.

My experience with TLG Tile was excellent initially. The people who worked on the kitchen were competent, professional, and prompt. One of the cabinets was the wrong size and they ordered and installed a new one that was the correct size. The kitchen looked wonderful and I recommended them to my neighbor who also used TLG Tile to remodel her kitchen. She has been very pleased and noted how responsive they were. However, about one year after my kitchen was installed, I noticed that several cabinet doors were not closing properly and seemed to be warped. I called TLG and they said they would take care of the problem by ordering new doors. They never came by and I decided I could live with the cabinets the way they were. Then, last year, I noticed something odd with part of my granite countertop. One of the corner areas, about 4 square feet, had dropped about 1/4 inch and separated from the backsplash. I also noticed that some of the glue between the granite pieces was missing in another area. I phoned and they were going to send someone to my house to evaluate what to do but I leaving for several weeks and they agreed to send someone when I returned. Once I got back, I called and was told they'd get back to me but they have not. A few days ago I looked up and saw that one of the cabinets had separated from the wall by about 1/2 inch. I have called and emailed TLG Tile for 3 weeks with no response at this point.
