 + 1 moreThe crew was able to clearly explain everything they did, were very efficient, put out tarps to avoid any dirt getting on our carpet, used a vacuum to capture the dust generated by the work and cleaned up carefully. Although they mentioned several other things that could be done, they applied no pressure for us to purchase them. All in all a very pleasant and satisfying experience. I would recommend them without hesitation. One very minor issue. I asked the office to call me at work 30 minutes before the crew was supposed to arrive so I could meet them there. The crew arrived earlier than expected and I didn't get called until after they arrived. No real problem...They got to work on the outside, I got the call, and every thing else went smoothly.
Description of Work: We decided to have some work done on our chimney/fire place after finding a small amount of water on the fire place. We don't use our chimney so the repair work needed was due to weathering. We selected The Chimney Doctor Nova after receiving several bids of which they were the lowest. They proposed to replace the cap and damper, make masonry repairs on the chimney and the fireplace, and seal the chimney.

 + 0 moreThe work was just fine. The experience went well. I told him that I couldn’t see the chimney from the ground so he took picture with his iPhone and sent it to me; so I could see what was wrong. When it was done, he took a picture of it completed.
Description of Work: I used The Chimney Doctor Nova Inc to install a new chimney cap on one chimney. They put a cap and a damper on the other chimney. The also put a concrete crown and then they waterproofed the bricks on the outside.

 + 0 moreThe Chimney Doctor Nova Inc. did a fine job. They were quite thorough in their inspections. They took pictures and wrote up full reports. They were very good. With the photos and everything, you could see exactly what they were talking about. They did it very quickly. The work we got done went in great and has continued to work great. My husband watched them working and he didn't complain, so I guess that's fine.
Description of Work: They put in a new damper and also cleaned the fireplaces and inspected them. They then gave us quotes on each fireplace and what needed to be done.

 + 0 moreThey were very good. I had them come twice. One was before I became an Angie's list member. I just had them come as a chimney sweep and at that time. They inspected my chimney and said that there was some masonry work that needed done. But, they weren't pushy about it, which I liked. I called them back and at that point, we were ready to do the work. They came out and did it then. They honored the price that they had given me from a year ago. I was having a lot of work done on the house at the time and just the fact that they didn't try to push me was what I appreciated most.

Also, suggested some cost saving measures as well. Overall great experience and good value for my money! I will use them in Spring for additional exterior work to our townhome brick facade and driveway!

He then explained the repair necessary in the future.  + -1 moreThe work was performed professionally. Chimney Doctor sent three workmen with all the necessary material to reline the flue from the furnace and the flue from the fireplace. The old damper was removed from above the fireplace and replaced with a damper at the top of the flue. The workmen installed M-Flex Stainless Steel and Aluminum Chimney Liner in both the Furnace Flue and the Fireplace Flue. Premier Mix, which is chimney insulation, was installed between the new liner and the chimney wall. The job was completed in approximately four hours.
Description of Work: Initial visit was to inspect the two chimney flues, including a video inspection of the flue from the fireplace. Found significant damage to the chimney tiles which were installed over 45 years ago. The two flues had to be relined. This was done on a scheduled day the following week.

He was able to complete the dryer vent cleaning, even though the vent hose that I had was not long enough for them to install their high-power blower. Ryan suggested that I pick up a longer hose for my next service, and he would get it installed for me. Very professional and helpful. I highly recommend The Chimney Doctor.

 + 3 moreWe discovered the problem when preparing for Thanksgiving and noticing water stains on the ceiling in an adjacent room. We first called Shiner Roofing, who immediately said the problem was chimney related. They recommeded Chimney Doctor who came and quickly replaced the chimney cap.
Description of Work: They inspected and cleaned our chimney. The chimney cap needed to be replaced so they came the following week and did the repair. They were thorough, professional and prompt. I would definitely use them again.

 + 2 moreOverall I was very happy and satisfied with their work. Their price was about $1,000 lower than the other two estimates. Their estimator, Robert, was very professional. Not pushy. Not a salesman, in the negative sense of the word. He took the time to explain everything. Gave me options. Etc. The laborers were also professional. They worked hard and stayed focused on the job. When the company realized their mistake, they researched the problem and came back to me with a fair solution. I would definitely use the company again. Also, my boss was needing some brick work done on his front porch and walkway. Although I haven't used the company for that service, I still recommended my boss contact them.
Description of Work: They gave me an estimate to repair my chimney, which was leaning away from the house. Their quote was quite reasonable (in fact, I got quotes from 2 other companies, and theirs was the lowest), so they repaired the chimney. They replaced the exterior bricks (matching them to the originals quite well) and the tiles inside the chimney. This took 2.5 days, which is what they had told me at the beginning. There were also some cracks in the mortar in my fireplace, which they fixed with new mortar. They removed the old bricks and left my yard in good shape. A couple of days later someone came and sealed the "J-channel" after the mortar on the chimney had dried. The only hiccup was that there was a gap in the first tile (which could be seen through the damper when looking up through the fireplace). This wasn't fixed during the rebuild. However, upon them realizing the mistake, they sent someone out to fix it. They also replaced the damper. I'm not sure whether they would have had to have replaced the damper if they would have noticed the gap during the rebuild. Regardless, they fixed it for free.

Victor and his crew were prompt, courteous, and professional. When they ran across a couple of complications, they explained everything to me. They cleaned everything after their work was completed.  + -1 moreChimney Doctor NOVA sent 3 guys for inspection and estimate. They protected my flooring with tarp. Using really good camera equipment, they showed me the inside of flue up far enough to confirm that it really was in dangerous disrepair. They gave an estimate that was even less than the estimate I had received in 2009 from another company. They on the appt date right on time; pulled out my heavy woodburning stove; sawed off the old damper; and installed an 8 inch full-length stainless steel insulated flue liner (w/lifetime warranty). And they connected the liner directly to the stove so woodburning stove is in compliance with code. They lso put on a new cement crown and covered w/plastic to protect from possible rain. Came back the next day (I didn't need to be there) for outside work and took off plastic and reinstalled my sparkscreen cap. Chimney Doctor NOVA was clean, professional, quick and reasonably priced. I would recommend them and I would use them again.
Description of Work: Had not used my fireplace since 2009 when I had it cleaned and was told it was dangerous and needed expensive repairs. Recently called Chimney Doctor NOVA for estimate. They set up an appointment right away. The work was a completely relined tflue and repair of a cracked crown.

Description of Work: The Chimney Doctor did a replacement of the crown on the chimney. The crown had damage of weather and age. The Chimney Doctor team had a timely arrival and completion of work. The company provides an estimate for correction of weather damage to the interior of the chimney to allow future use of the wood stove. The Chimney Doctor also took time to provide extra mortar to fill an extra gap on the stairs. Overall a professional and courteous experience.
