Outstanding! The two sentences above make the job sound simple. Pedro came out to measure and make an estimate. After the estimate he measured again. He also measured the slope between the pool coping and various points in the yard to the existing drainage points. The job was complicated by NOT being able to get any kind of heavy machinery to the back yard. We had a two day weather delay but Doris kept us up to date. The concrete was broken up by a man, Jose, with a jack hammer and a sledge hammer and then carried out with a wheel barrow to fill the dumpster 100' away! After all of the concrete was removed, they tamped the area down, measured the angles and then tamped again. Then they put forms in around the edges, wire stuff over all of the ground and I think they measured one more time. They had iron stakes driven in several parts of the the yard, I assumed they had something to do with all of the leveling. I forgot to mention the drainage. The old drainage system was collapsing so they dug it all out and replaced it with 4" PVC and three drain/catchbasins. On the day of pouring, Pedro had several folks helping him. Because of the distance of the yard from the truck, they had to use a pump. Watching the team work was amazing, they were well orchestrated, almost like a football team with their coordination and precision. The concrete was colored throughout, they first poured and then stamped. They had to work relatively fast, I think, before the concrete became "unstampable." We had selected a pattern that looked like pavers. The stamps were about 2'x2'. They spread some sort of gray dust over the concrete and then put the stamps on. When I first looked out I was a little worried thinking it would all be gray but the gray washed out and a wonderful paver look remained. The cleanup was very thorough. A couple of days later they came back, cut expansion joints and put down a sealer. They are superb craftsmen who make it look easy. Pedro and Doris are wonderful to work with--customer service is a high priority. So summing up: great customer service throughout, superb craftsmanship and quality, punctual, and took great care with everything around our house.
