Sixpenny Chimney Sweeps

The price was average. They were pretty responsive and right on the money for punctuality. We agreed on the price and they came out and took over the living room for about half a day and left. I would use them again.

They did a good job. I would use them again in the future.

So far so good! It is kind of hard since I cannot go up and see the chimney. We just went through the storm and I have not notice any damage. We didn't have any leaks, so I am assuming everything is fine.

Very easy transaction. Showed up on time and did a great job. I had to clean off my deck after some of the gutter debris fell on the deck but overall very pleased and highly recommend

I called and received a quote from Franco to have my chimney sweep and inspected. I scheduled an appointment for Saturday, August 13, 2011 from 10am - 2pm; however no one showed or called, we wasted most of the day waiting for the contractor to come as agreed.

Sixpenney showed up exactly on time and were very thorough in the repair.All three items they performed could be very messy but they left the house in perfect order. The technicians were helpful and even were able to accommodate a last minute request - removing two unused antenna from one of the chimneys. We felt the services provided were reasonable priced and the company was a pleasure to deal with. We will definitely be using Sixpenney for future sweeps as we burn a lot of wood.

It went very smoothly and efficiently. We were pleased with everything from the folks who came to do the estimate to the final results of what was A LOT of work.

the guys that came out made sure to keep the area clean, they were fast and professional. It was a little pricey but they gave a military discount.

They were excellent. They arrived on time, put the drop cloths down and kept the room extremely clean while working. They are very nice people. The company and their people are great. They will come back to perform repairs at a later date.

Stellar work. The two gents {Steven (sp?) is the only name I can remember} and didn't compromise any quality in the sake of speed. I checked in on them every few minutes as they cut holes in the ducts, brought in hoses, worked upstairs, etc. At every occasion they were exceeding my expectations. Not only did they apply the vacuum and forced air to both supply and return air ducts, but they also brushed the inside of the return ducts by using some of the vents which were cut in the basement. Cleaning of the dryer vent was excellent considering my set-up is unorthodox and not the most convenient for cleaning. There were even considerate (as possible) of my wife and newborn when they were going about the noisy business of forcing air through the ducts. Price was exceptional for the quality of work done. Highly recommend Sixpenny and request they give those two employees a raise.

They are excellent. It isn’t always the same set of people because sometimes they have to make substitutions, but the woman that came out this last time made my house sparkling and neat even though it started as a disaster area. There is nothing like coming home to a clean house that you don’t have to clean. I have had them power wash my house before and do a whole house deep clean, and they were excellent with those as well.

My ownly critical comment, which has nothing to do with the quality of the work, is that the workers did not wear safety goggles while they were repairing and cleaning.

I called this company and they came out the same day. I did have to wait a while for them to show up, but because I asked for same day service it was expected. They did a good job. The creosote smell was reduced but is still there. I understand it is difficult to completely make the smell go away, but it is still disappointing. The only difficult issue was only one of the men who showed up spoke English and he was very difficult to understand. However, they were BOTH very polite and helpful and did good work. I would recommend this company.

They were to come yesterday for an extimate on a new chimney cap. They didn't show up. When I called they said that they didn't show me on their schedule even though I'd made an appointment a week before that. He said that he would call me right back, but he never did.

We set-up an appointment with SixPenny for 4 pm on Wednesday, April 20, 2011. My husband had to take time off from work to be there. SixPenny never showed up during the specified time period but did call and were apologetic saying that another job had run late. We rescheduled for Saturday, April 23, 2011. The specified time period came and went, they never showed up and never gave us the courtesy of a phone call to say they weren't coming. I called their office Saturday afternoon and got their voicemail. I left a message and asked them to call my husband first thing Monday morning. They did not call so my husband called them again. There was no explanation or apology but we rescheduled again for this past Saturday, April 30th. Same result - no one showed up, no phone call to explain why. I called their office this morning and left a message asking someone to call me back but have not heard anything. Three strikes and you are out - we will never do business with them again.

The service crew was punctual and professional. The chimney sweeps arrived in the morning and got right to work. During the inspection it was found that our fireplace crown had several cracks that would need repair. A small hole was also discovered in the smoke chamber. Price for repair was agreed upon and scheduled for the following morning. The cleaning itself was $125. The repair work was $375. The air duct cleaning crew arrived in the afternoon and thoroughly cleaned out several years of accumulated dirt and dust. They sprayed a sanitizer in each duct that left the house smelling clean. It was well worth the $349 we paid to have it done. The chimney sweeps returned as promised the next morning and quickly mixed the concrete and made the necessary repairs. Both my husband and I were very pleased with their work.

Fast response, great customer service, reasonable price and great work performed. The two gentlemen that came out were very nice and very knowledgable about what they were doing. Couldn't have asked for better service! My dryer now runs on one cycle instead of two!! I will def be calling them in the future for more services!

Tech met my realtor at the time he said he would. Realtor reported tech was professional although realtor asked tech if he could take a few extra pictures of the roof as I wanted to see the roof. tech did not do that and only took pictures of the chimney. realtor thought it may have been a language barrier. Tech also honored 10 dollar discount that Franco, the owner, told he would give me. That's good because when I had called the company to coordinate my realtor meeting the tech on the day of the chimney inspection, the lady answering the phone said the coupon didn't apply since i was not getting my chimney swept. I didn't argue with her on that since the coupon does say that but I just told her that is not what Franco told me. all and all, a good experience and I would use this company again.

They did a good job. Their services were top notch. The service people were on time, professional, and trustworthy.

I spent $500 each time. I would recommend everything about them. They are a family organization, but they seem to have it well organized. They always answer the phone. Their people come out promptly. There was a mix up, but they called and explained it to me. There were two people in the neighborhood who had asked for their services. They said they would be here at nine and they finally came at two, but they finished the work. They did everything they said they would do. They charged exactly according to the estimate. They didn’t overcharge. They came on the day they said and there was no nonsense. They accepted the credit card and that was it. Everything got done according to schedule. I would give them very high marks. They were excellent both the times. There was little bit of a language problem, but it wasn’t much. Overall, it was a very positive experience. They were the first people I used, but they were very reasonable. They were fine. I would use their services in the future too. In fact, I would call them next year when my fireplaces need cleaning.

Very good.... no complaints. They were able to come out on 1 day's notice (where other companies laughed at me) and do a routine clean. They called the day of to see if we would like them to come earlier in the day since they had availability, which worked out great. They were quick, clean and did a great job.

- Chimney repairs: job done according to the agreement, as far as we could judge. The supervisor/leader was on the job the whole time. The crew arrived a little late and the job took longer than planned. It was started on a Friday and continued over part of the weekend. They left the area clean. We were satisfied with the work. - Air duct and dryer vent cleaning. The two man crew arrived on time. They worked hard and seemed to do a thorough job based on the fact that the house had not had that kind of cleaning for at least 11 years, and probably much more. Good contact with the supervisor. We discovered after they left that the wall areas around two vents where the more junior person had worked were damaged. The supervisor on the chimney job was still at the house when we noticed. He took charge of ensuring that the problems were remedied. In one case, they replaced a vent with a larger one covering the problem area, in the other, they fixed the wall. Although we were left with a minor painting job to do, we were satisfied with the effort to remedy the problem.

The process from start to finish was great. The price was very reasonable, they actually gave us same day service, and the folks who performed the service on site were clean, professional, and on time. I would definitely recommend them for the same service and wil use them again myself.

Very professional, excellent cleanup after the job. They called and moved the call forward several days as their schedule changed.
