My service was originally scheduled for July 29th, but they called and asked to move it to July 28th because it was suppose to rain on the 29th. I was pleased with this instead of it just being canceled. The chimney and fireplace look great! Except I noticed only recently that they did not clean up the excess lint that was cleaned out of the dryer vent in my laundry room. It is covering everything in the corner where the vent connects to the outside. I would have appreciated them cleaning that up, but I may have read somewhere that clean up of the vent is not included. But a bigger mess than I expected.

The service was really good. They called me as soon as I placed order online. Setting up appointment was easy, the job was done well.

On time and courteous. He took the time to protect the surrounding finishes and was very professional.

This provider is professional and prompt. The scheduler called within hours and worked with me to ensure the service was performed the same week. I was impressed that the company offers Saturday service. The technician was efficient and polite. I would not hesitate to engage sixpenny chimney sweeps again. One small caveat - the service window is four, not two hours as was specified on Angie's list at the time of my scheduling.

Outstanding job cleaning gutters!

I purchased the services from Angie's List and within seconds Sixpenny was calling me to set up an appointment. The courteous representative was able to provide next day service. I had originally planned on just the fireplace/chimney flue and dry duct work but decided to add bathroom exhaust cleaning and Sixpenny was happy to accommodate my request at a reduced rate. This morning I got a call shortly after the beginning of my four-hour window advising me Denny V. was on his way. He arrived soon after. Denny was polite, efficient and did a great job on all the contracted jobs, providing knowledgable responses to a couple of questions I had. I was very pleased with my experience with Sixpenny and would definitely use their services again.

I have a fireplace insert that must be partially dis-assembled so the annual chimney cleaning is always a little more involved than a regular fireplace requires but the workers were able to figure it out. Insert disassembly/assembly and chimney cleaning went smoothly overall. The workers recommended repair work on the crown of the chimney and the flashing between the chimney and the roof but I haven't had a chance to go up on the roof and see what they were talking about and I won't schedule the work until I do.

"Steven" was my tech and did a wonderful job. He was punctual, professional, congenial, and did a thorough chimney sweep without getting a lick of soot on the cream wall-to-wall carpeting surrounding my fireplace. He took great care to cover his work space and cleaned it up impeccably when he was finished. Additionally, I had a small piece of siding that blew off the top of my prefab (town home) chimney in a wind storm earlier that spring and Steven was kind enough to crawl up a very tall ladder to reattach it for me. -- A generous (and brave!) gesture. I'm delighted to support a biblically-based, family owned business and would give Sixpenny Chimney Sweeps my business again in a heartbeat. When I'm ready for another sweep, I'll be giving Sixpenny a call.

They did a great job. Denny was very professional and amiable. He took the time to explain everything to me and was very personable. He was very efficient and made sure that I received the best service possible. The place was cleaned up nicely afterward and he took pictures of everything to show me the work completed. The only issue I had was the schedule. I was supposed to have the work done on a Friday, but it was delayed until Saturday. Overall, Sixpenny did a great job and I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

Did not show up first day as scheduled; however, did come by another day after coordinating and performed the installation in a satisfactory manner. Will use again if needed.

The price was right, and the steps themselves seem to be well installed. However, there is red writing on the stone of one of the steps. We initially thought the letters were written in chalk for the sake of the construction process and would eventually just wash out; however, several months later (and after much scrubbing) they're still there. We called Six Penny two weeks ago and told them about the writing and they said they would send someone in the next day or two to take a look at it, but no one has come to look at it and the writing is still there.

Cant really say much as I was not present during the gutter cleaning but what can I say? They scheduled the job. Emailed/called when there was a weather problem. Rescheduled. They appeared and did the job at the scheduled time and completed it. Professional and courteous all the way.

The repairs were all performed the following day as scheduled and the area was cleaned up after the work was done.

I scheduled an appointment for Chimney masonry repair for 26 February with a time from of the technician arriving at 9am. I had my parents take off work to be there to meet the technicians. We were called the day before to confirm this appointment. I arranged to have family take off work to be there on the 26th, however on that day no one from Sixpenny showed up. The technician was to arrive at 9am and at 11:30 when I called the company, the;customer service rep explained that the technician was on another job that was taking longer than expected and should be there in the afternoon. At 2pm, my husband called and was informed that the technician might be able to come to do the inside work rand complete the outside work the following day. However, the technician called again to tell us the technician would not be coming, but instead would come at 8am on 27 February. At 8:15 on 27 February I called Sixpenny and the CSR explained that the technician should be there in half hour. They had to come to the facility to pick up their equipment. The CSR said that they never give an exact time, but I no for a fact that we were given an 8am appointment for 27 February. I stated we were given an 8am appointment, so as of now the technicians were late. The technicians did arrive and were very quick. I just had several issues with SixPenny's disregard for their customer's time. To not take in to consideration that somone had taken off work for an entire day and not consider calling the customer to inform them of changes. I found it unacceptable and I am not sure i would recommend the company to a customer who values their time. The work done itself was great, but I just can't get past punctuality and timeliness, which are key components of being recommended again. I have chosen not to place the review on Band of Neighbors in hopes that the company would be willing to resolve my concerns. Thank you

We used Sixpenny for years and recently used their "deal" on Angies List after we called to make our Fall appointment and the front desk pointed us to the Angie's List deal. It was a bait and switch and they charged us more than they have in past years without the posted "deal". I would have recommended them in the past - not now. The bait and switch is unacceptable. It's a shame since their staff are good people - just can't accept this type of behavior from a company.

I was not happy with them. I have extensions on the end of the gutters and they never pulled those off and they were clogged up so the water did not go all the way through so I was wondering how you clean something and not check to see if the water is going through and then I have screens and they bent the screens so I was not happy with them. I never said anything and that is my fault on that. They came out pretty quickly as they came out within a week or so. The price that I paid for the Big Deal was the total charge. The fact that they left the gutter the way they did is the reason for the D overall as that could cause issues down the road. The price was pretty good and they came on time. The workers came and did what they had to do and they left the area neat. The issue I had was that they never showed me that the gutter was clogged.

It went well! The provider used a 40' ladder to get on the roof and cleaned our gutters placing the debris in a plastic bag (vs. throwing it over the side). It was quick and they were on time.

Everything went well. They were careful to ensure a mess wasn't made in the living room when they were cleaning the chimney and hearth. They noted some minor repairs that we needed on the exterior of the chimney and they were able to fix it on the spot for a reasonable price.

We were very pleased with the service and the cost was very reasonable. We will definitely be using them in the future.
