Sixpenny Chimney Sweeps

Not sure. My wife said they were on the roof for about 5 minutes which is fine because I mainly needed a clogged downspout cleared. We'll see when it rains.

Service was excellent. The office called to let me know the installer was on his way and time of arrival. He arrived right on time. The chimney cap was installed with no problem. The installer also did an inspection of the chimney. He showed me pictures and explained what and why the repairs that needed to be done. He did not try to push me into buying any additonal service but left me with a detainled estimate.

They did a good job. They came here on time. It was easy communication. I did not pay anymore than the Big Deal. They price was reasonable.

Very well. Could not have been better! All services were performed promptly and professionally, with contacts when weather was not cooperating with the agreed schedule.

Work was done on agreed upon schedule at agreed upon price. Workers were courteous and professional. Quality appeared to be top notch.

Was told we did not need to be home but the worker would need access to our outdoor water sources. When I returned home, no water had been used on the gutters to flush them and ensure they were clear. The downspouts were full of debris and it seems when "cleaning" the gutters, the workers just threw the debris from the ladders into our yard causing a big mess that we had to clean. Sloppy and lazy work. I called and complained and was told I would receive a call back but no one ever reached out. $150 was not worth the price when they job isn't done and we had to do yard work to clean up their mess. Review update 07/10/2017: Management from Sixpenny Chimney Sweep contacted me shortly after our service and offered to have a technician come out and recheck the work that was done. We agreed to have them come out and were pleased with the work the second time around. They were able to clean up the downspouts and ensure the water was running properly through the whole gutter system.

Scheduled within a few days of call and arrived promptly at the time promised. Very nice young man named Ely performed the work and after clearing tested and cleaned up. I could not be happier.

Arrived on time, but did NOT sweep the chimney. He inspected the fireplace and chimney and announced that we had stage 2 and stage 3 creosote which would require a chemical treatment. He explained that the chemical treatment would be almost six times the price quoted quoted on Angie's List to clean the chimney and he did not have any of the required chemical with him, adding that all but $6 of the prepaid $105 could not be refunded but rather would be applied as an "Inspection Charge". I subsequently called a local chimney sweep who did the job with power brushes for $185.

Nice job. They weren't happy how the initial cleaning went, so they came back and did additional cleaning the following weekend.

They were very professional, gave me moment to moment updates. Pointed out some problems down the road. I was very pleased with their service.

Guys were polite, efficient and inexpensive. They did great work with minimal distraction.

They missed the original appointment but they kept me well informed as to status so that I did not have to sit around wondering if they were going to show. Once on the premises, the gentlemen were friendly and efficient. Let me know what they would be doing and updated me periodically as to how much longer they would be here. Overall, an excellent job, I thought.

Crew was prompt, conducted a visual inspection of the chimney from the outside. Took about 15 minutes to inspect and let me know the chimney masonry and cap were in good shape and no work was needed at this time.

They cleaned it perfectly and even fixed a wrongly installed grate at the end of the pipe.

It turned out fine. I have no complaints. The work was performed on time. There was some additional work that they prescribed, that we conducted. The fire box in the fireplace was missing some tiles. So it was a safety matter that they pointed out to us, and they repaired it. They charged extra for the extra service they performed for the safety matter. I am always cautions about providers up saling, but there was a true safety issue with the fireplace. It was a legitimate up charge. I can't think of anything they could have done better. I always reserve A's for people who do super super exceptional service. These guys were good, but there wasn't anything super exceptional about them except they were on time and did the job they were supposed to do. The thing that stood out the most to me is that they were on time.

They could show up dressed like professionals, rather than rags and tatters. Basically, it was like if you hired a kid from down the street. Not impressed.

The team was courteous, professional, and did a fantastic job. I was worried there would be a mess, as I was trying to get the house ready to sell. No problems at all. In fact, while they were checking the chimney, they asked about the dryer vent - I forgot all about it. Cleaned it out and swept up the mess. I would readily hire them again.

They were able to arrive within the same day of purchasing the coupon. They were very thorough and quick.

Estimate went well, with responsive appearance, took pictures, explained the issues, and gave a reasonable quote. However, when the technicians arrived, they took over an hour to conclude that they could not fix the chimney at the price offered, that they would need two full days to do it, instead of a half day, but that they would do just the crown molding for 90% of the cost. When I pointed out that this appeared to be 50% of the work for 90% of the cost, the technician just shrugged and told me to call his boss. His boss was pleasant, agreed that the work could not be done at the price quoted, and agreed (grudgingly) to refund the deposit. A week later, another chimney service came out and gave a simple answer to the problem (which involved asking our HVAC guys to come out and work with them to get around the problem) and offered a quote only $50 more. They did the work in a half day, no break in the wall. I can only conclude that the technicians at SixPenny simply weren't as knowledgeable as the competitor about chimney construction.

Turns out I didn't need the sweep, but they did remove a chimney swift nest from my chimney.

It worked out very well. The cost turned out to be a little over the 99 dollar Big Deal that I purchased. The price was sort of reasonable. The quality was okay. They were here a little over an hour and a half. They cleaned up everything.

It was awesome. They were good, they were nice, they were friendly, they were efficient.
