Don was very responsive and professional. He was punctual when he initially came to measure and on the day he came to install the blinds. He was very quick installing blinds on 22 windows. I was impressed how quickly he got the blinds up. The blinds look so good, I may skip putting up drapes altogether!

Don installed wood blinds on our first floor in two parts over several months. He was very professional, punctional and reliable and we were happy with the purchase and installation, initially. After the second installation, we realized that some small parts were missing that held the cords in place and this was important to us with small children at home. With a lifetime warranty, I contact Don for help with ordering the small part. He didn't respond at first but after another contact, he asked the company to ship us replacements. The company sent us the wrong part. Don apologized and said he'd re-order them, but they never arrived. After several months, I tried to contact him again, but he didn't respond. The parts are small and likely very inexpensive, so I understand they weren't a priority, but the blinds were not inexpensive and have essentially been faulty since installation. After many months and repeated emails, this issue is still unresolved. *** Update: The correct parts arrived in the mail this week (2/25/2015). It's still been many months since the first request, so responsiveness is a concern, but the issue was resolved in the end. Things happen, and overall we were pleased with the service and product. Will recommend to others.

Outstanding. Don didn't try to upsell us but rather suggested a quality product that matched the character of the home and was still within our budget. He was on time for both the initial consultation and installation. He was responsive, clean, quick, and professional. I would use him again without hesitation.

The entire transaction with Don was pleasant and easy. I have been wanting blinds for 8 years, but put if off because of the price. Don recommended something in my price range, measured my windows, ordered, and installed my lovely blinds, and I couldn't be happier with the product or his service. He is prompt, works quickly and professionally, and saved me a lot of money from the local favorite blind store (and he did a superior installation job compared to a previous job from the store). I would definitely use Don again.

I have used Don Glass, Jr., owner of Shade and Shutter Sales, several times in the past and again just recently for various window treatments. I am a new member on Angie's List and want to give credit where credit is due. Mr. Glass has been consistently punctual, courteous, and professional. He shows up with sample books and you do your shopping from home. He takes his time to explain the products and is very patient while you look through the books and make your decision. Since home decorating is not my thing, I ask for his recommendations and that is what I go with. He has a keen eye for decorating and I have always been pleased with the final result. I shopped around for a while before I decided on Shade and Shutter Sales. I know I made the right decision. Mr. Glass does exceptional work and makes the whole process very easy. Highly recommended.

I called Don Glass of Shade & Shutter Sales LLC. He came the same day to give us an estimate on new Hunter Douglas duette shades. I asked for references, and he brought names & telephone numbers with him. The prices he quoted were quite competitive and he offers free installation. The shades came within 2 weeks and he installed them within days of receiving them. Don was easy to deal with and came to our home with samples, which was much more convenient than going to a store and allowed us to see how the samples would look in the rooms we planned to add the shades in. All in all, an excellent experience.

The shutters more than fulfilled our expectations, the choice of wood being exactly right and the fit being precise. The job was done in record time. Don is knowledgeable, helpful and very professional. This all took place during record snow storms.

The shutters were ordered almost one year ago. The first set of shutters came in but did not match the trim. For the second attempt to match the trim, we experienced a lack of professionalism and customer service. The strike off sample from our painter was given to the owner and then lost. Phone messages from me and from my designer were ignored, and months went by with empty promises. The date on the order was Jan 08', and the shutters were finally installed in Dec 08'. Thanks to Angie's List we were able to get a response. Why would anyone patronize this establishment?

Don was on time and professional. He had samples with him and advised me to go with a bigger shutter slat that I had desired, and he was right. He also wisely steered me to a better color. I then asked Don if he could think of a way to solve the problem I had in my living room of oppressive summer sunlight, as I have floor-to-ceiling windows but I am loathe to put up something inside that ruins the architectural lines of the interior. Don came up with a solution that has made my life much better and my living room inhabitable in the summer while saving on AC bills: to hang a blind on the outside of the house that I can roll up and all the hardware is outside. Don is professional and meticulous and I am very happy with his work. As a plus, my front storm door was malfunctioning and when he noticed it he fixed it free of charge. Also, as a woman, it is nice to have a gentleman contractor as I have had my share of contractors who are inappropriate or downright scary.
