Horrible experience...The under-sink rebuild was done improperly, and began to leak rancid water from a P trap (for a pipe which, according to the supervisor, didn't need to be installed in the first place). The plumber who sold me the water heater told me I had a 6-year parts and labor warranty through the manufacturer. He even noted the warranty in writing on the plumbing contract. That turned out to be a lie. The supervisor who came to fix the plumber's shoddy work told me it was a 1-year labor warranty. The water heater they sold me also had a defective lower heating element, so we didn't have hot water for 3 weeks. When the plumber came to check out the water heater, he said it was just a matter of adjusting the temperature settings. When they finally came out to test and fix the lower heating element, the plumber (the supervisor this time) took the element out too early and got water all over our basement floor. I came downstairs to find him pushing our bath towels around with his foot to mop up the water. Unfortunately he didn't make sure that the temperature for the bottom heating element was set to match the top one, and we ended up not having hot water for yet another 2-3 weeks. They also sold me a defective toilet. They promised me in writing (on the plumbing contract for the repair work) that they would refund $120, the wholesale price of the defective toilet. That was back in October, and I'm still waiting for my refund. First the supervisor said he didn't know how do a credit card refund, and would have to send a check. Then he said there was no one in the office to write a check. Then he simply left the company. I contacted their corporate headquarters, but was told Mr. Rooter of Northern Virginia is a franchise, and headquarters has no direct control over refund issues. Nevertheless, in an effort to assist me, they tried to contact the owner a number of times on my behalf, but never heard back. My credit card company said that since I couldn't prove the first toilet was defective (Mr. Rooter took the old toilet away when they installed the new one), I couldn't get my money back through Master Card, and would have to take the company to small claims court to get them to honor the refund agreement. Mr. Rooter had said earlier that they would honor the 6-year labor warranty (once they saw it was in the original plumbing contract), but given the trouble I've had over the refund, I somehow doubt that.

Found Mr Rooter through Angies List, made an appt for the next day. Plumber John showed up on time and inspected our leaky items. He said he could try to fix the existing (old) items, but recommended we purchase new sink faucet and disposer to replace old leaky ones to ensure proper functioning. We purchased new products from another store, then John returned the next day to install them for us. All products work well and no more leaks! John was very professional, explained our problems, and offered several options for us to choose from. Honest and fast working!

I ran into an unexpected issue while I was renovating my basement bathroom. The new shower fixtures I bought would not fit my existing shower water diverter (a new diverter came with my new fixture). After going to both Lowe's and Home Depot to inquire as to whether any fixture would fit my existing plumbing, it was clear that my current diverter was outdated and it needed to be replaced. I called early in the morning for an appt, left a message, but spoke to someone within 20 minutes to make the appt for the morning. I was looking for someone to come out as early as was possible, since I didn't want to delay my contractor's work for the day too much, and he needed to wait on the plumbing to continue his work. I was able to get an appt time between 9-11am, which was acceptable. The technician, John, called me about 30 minutes before he came to confirm the appt and told me when he would arrive. He arrived just before 9am (YAY!). He was very friendly and professional, and it was clear that he is very knowledgeable about plumbing. He said that he had not been with the company very long, but has had many years of plumbing experience (which was obvious). He quoted an acceptable price for the work, and finished the job in a timely manner, replacing my existing diverter with the new one that came with my fixture. One thing I truly believe in is having a quality job done right the first time, and that is exactly the kind of experience I have had with John and Mr. Rooter of N.Va. I will definitely use them again for all my plumbing needs.

Absolutely awesome! This afternoon my son was going to take a shower and noticed that the handle was really loose (i.e., broken). Then he discovered that he couldn't turn the water off. I immediately went to Angie's List and found Mr. Rooter. The serviceman, Steve, answered the phone right away and said he would be over as soon as he finished his current plumbing job. He arrived about 90 minutes later. He was so nice, professional, and prompt that I asked him about three more repairs that we had been putting off (slow running toilet, kitchen faucet leak around base, and installation of a lever valve to replace the turning valve on our main water shut-off. Steve checked everything I inquired about and provided me with very reasonable estimates! He did the toilet rebuild today, and will be back on Monday to do the other three. Steve even recommended that I pick up my own kitchen faucet and sprayer as it would save me a lot of money. Would I use Mr. Rooter again? Absolutely! And I will ask for Steve again as I can't imagine better service available than the service he provided. I will definitely recommend Mr. Rooter to my friends! P.S. Steve is cat-friendly.

They did a good job. There was a slight leak after it was installed and they came out first thing the next morning and repaired that. Their follow through was excellent. The person I dealt with was excellent, we have no complaints.

The plumber was very thoughrough and knew what he was doing. I would use them again.

I noticed water on the rug by the kitchen sink and looked underneath and noticed water. I signed up with Angie's list because I had a previous plumbing issue a few years ago and almost got taken for hundreds of dollars. I noticed Mr. Rooter had a "A" rating and they were located in my city. I called them and spoke directly to Terry. He was very friendly and we set up and appt for the next day, Tuesday. He got to my house on time, came in, noticed the leak and said my Disposal needed replacing. The disposal was the original one put into my TH and my TH is 10 years old. He said he could come back in the afternoon to replace it or another day if I preferred. I was not feeling well, so I suggested to come back on Thursday. I had a 10am eye appt, so he was able to come back at 8:15am so he would be done by the time I had to leave for my appt. He got here on time and had the disposal replaced in 35 minutes. I was very satisfied with her service and would definately recommend Mr. Rooter.

The job was well done. The person they sent provided good advice and fixed the problem. They were very professional. They appeared at the appointed time. They analyzed the situation and explained clearly what the situation was. They showed me the options and completed the job. I would use their services in the future too.

An overall great experience. Terry advised that he would show between 10-11 am the next morning (this was not emergency service) but likely closer to 10 AM. Not only did he provide a nice tight window allowing me to take minimal time off of work, but he showed up true to his word at 10:15 and brought a partner with him. With respect to the leaky pipes for the front hose - Terry explained everything he was going to have to do prior to starting, took extra time to show and explain the issues and what he was going to have to do to fix it for each step of the process. He used better quality material than what was initially used by the builder. Further, Terry fully explained how to minimize the possibility of having the issue repeat in the future. With respect to the leaky bathtub, Terry correctly assessed that the leak was caused by nothing more than a loose overflow covering. There was no charge for this and I was quite glad the issue was that simple as the builder left no access panel to the bathtub's plumbing which would have likely meant tearing out the tiles (I had 2 others look at that issue previously and immediately they just wanted to start removing tiles.) Again, Terry and his partner explained and gave tips on how to reduce the possibility of having a bath plumbing issue in the future. They were very proffessional throughout the whole process and took extra time to fully explain everything and make sure that I understood what it meant, what they'd have to do, and the cost all prior to starting the work. I would definately use them for any future plumbing issues I may have and would recommend Mr Rooter to all my friends and neighbors.

Last Friday the kitchen sink would no longer drain water, with both sides of the sink completely backed up. I worked on it myself, clearing the p-trap and snaking the pipes, to no avail. I gave Mr. Rooter a call on Saturday around noon, and they were here about two hours later. Terry gave me the price list up front, so there were no surprises at time of payment. It took him only around half an hour to find and fix the problem, and he tested it thoroughly. It was great to get a plumber on a weekend, and on such short notice. I would definitely use them again.

We had discovered a leaky waste pipe in our ceiling (small leak). The work was done well and the service person was professional. We'd recommend this service to others.

took them .5 hour to look at it (the hoses were fused onto the bibs), and .5 hour to replace them. They tried to remove the hoses first before doing anything further

I had a long standing leak from the faucet on my front porch. There had been no work on it since the house was built 25 years ago. The faucet was loose and close to impossible to turn off. I called in the morning asking for service and Terry came that afternoon. He found that the faucet needed to be replaced. In addition it was found that I was unable to fully turn off the valve in the basement controlling the water to the outside. I asked that he replace it so that would be able to fully turn off the supply for the winter. When replacing that Terry found that the main water was also broken. Of course I had to have that replaced. None of these items had been check for at least the last 8 years. Terry was very professional. He stayed late to complete the job for which I was very grateful. I received a discount for being an Angie's List customer which save me more than $100. I am very pleased with the work and recommend them to anyone seeking plumbing work.

Service was exceptional. Mr. Rooter under contract to provide installation services as a Sear contractor. Service technician was quick. Removed defective hot water heater, installed new one. Did not damage any walls or doors with removal or bringing in the new one.

A Pleasant experience! Contacted Mr. Rooter and scheduled an appointment and at that time I was given a day and time. They showed up when promised. They were very professional and quick with all my repairs. Would defiently use them again and again!!!
