Saw Marcelo Rosales' company Masterpiece Renovations working on our neighbors home across the alley from our home. We were taking estimates to have our kitchen and sunroom gutted and remodeled and asked him for an estimate. He gave an estimate and we signed a contract that required him to pull applicable permits and complete project by June 1, 2007. The total without appliances was $43,000. He was given a total of $36,000 to start the project. His crew gutted our kitchen and sunroom April 9-10, 2007. Then he disappeared for a week, not returning our calls. Finally he called and said he had been in Miami for a birthday party! He apologized that he "forgot" to inform us. In the meantime, we decided to add a powder room and expand our deck. This was to cost another $11,000. We gave him an additional $5,000 toward that project. He began to frame the kitchen and replace the deck. He disappeared and doesn't return our calls. As of July 22, 2007 we still have no kitchen/bath/deck.
Description of Work: Marcelo Rosales' company Masterpiece Renovation, LLC came and gutted our kitchen and sunroom on April 9-10, 2007. They removed old Sliding Door to our deck and replaced with two French Doors. Also, they began to frame out the kitchen. Then Marcelo's employees quit coming without pulling the permits or completing the job.

This man is a crook and I would not wish this experience on anyone. I was told he may be in Miami or Baltimore areas.
Description of Work: Marcelo Rosales gave us a contract to remodel our kitchen, sunroom, powder room and deck for $54,000. He gutted our kitchen and sunroom on April 9, 2007 and worked off and on approximately 2-3 hours a day for the next 6-8 weeks; some weeks not coming at all. He was to pull permits for the project and failed to do this as well. He never bought his men enough materials to work more than a few hours at a time. The contract had a completion date of June 1, 2007. As the date approached, we could see that he would not complete it on schedule, so I informed him that on June 29, 2007 I would begin penalizing him for going past time. He did a little work on our deck and quit coming or returning our calls. We have been nearly 4 months without a kitchen and our house is a mess.
