Manzano Landscaping

Mr. Manzano had some vehicle issues the day of service but he was upfront about them when I called to check on time of arrival, which had not been established beforehand. Once his crew arrived, they worked (he with them for much of the time) withoout stopping for four and a half hours. Mr. Manzano checked with me several times as to height of the bush trimming and agreed for a nominal additional charge to haul away some branches underneath the undergrowth. We also did a visual inspection together upon completion. All in all, working with him was easy and beneficial to us both, I believe.

They were very good and very thorough. Their prices are very reasonable and they are a very busy business. They spent three hours on our lawn. The workers were all very friendly and everyone said hello. Communication with them was very good and they were very knowledgeable.

Excellent work. The job was completed in less than 3 hours.

They have been doing stuff for me and I've been very pleased with them.

Alex was great...we had some issues getting in contact with each other, but other than that, it was wonderful. Alex and his crew came out on Sunday morning, as the scheduled time was Saturday afternoon but I believe the previous job took longer to complete. They showed up around 9 a.m. and started working. They groomed my entire front yard, cutting down overgrown bushes and English Ivy, which had gotten out of hand. He pruned the bush around the mailbox and basically cleaned the entire yard. What a difference! Before I actually hired him for this job, but we were in contact, he was next door working and saw that I had some low hanging branches over my driveway, which hit my car every time I drove, and he pruned those branches which I really appreciated. And this was before I actually hired him! I have now hired him to do my mowing and he will be maintaining my yard, including the leaf removal this fall. His prices are very reasonable and he just does a wonderful job.

He is really prompt, does a fantastic job and I find him to be very competitively priced. Great value for your dollar!

Alex and his crew were great! They arrived on time and whipped my front and back yards into shape in no time. Alex was very communicative during the project...letting me know of any issues, options to fix the issues, and his recommendations. He was also quite flexible and allowed me to add a couple of items to the "To Do" list that we had not previously discussed. Will definitely use him again and continue to refer him to friends and neighbors.

Job was done as stated and on time.

Great experience all around. Work completed within 1 week of initial contact. Owner supervised work and ensured it was completed within requested time frame. Yard looks great! Definitely plan to use this company again.

Mr. Manzano could not respond to me request for an estimate in time to meet my needs, but he was courteous and professional in his correspondence.

The service provided was done in a timely and professional manner. The mulching around our tree bed and a larger tress look really great. The lawn looks really great. We are very pleased with the work and looking forward to thier services again.

Very happy with the entire job. Alex was completely responsive via e-mail and his estimate was competitive. He and his crew showed up exactly as scheduled and the work was beautifully done. They also took the time to clean up the area where the river rock was dumped in preparation for installation. Will definitely use again in the future.

Sent me an email telling me that someone would come by and look at me yard for an estimate. I responded and asked that someone would please contact me so I could pull my dogs in when the person was to come out. Never got a response back, nor a call, not even an estimate! I guess my yard wasn't worth the effort. I will go back to using Service Magic they are very reputable.

Contractor agreed to prepare my yard for the end of the season. They failed to provide the mulch and cut the shrubbery. I called several times and was promised a return. Once I was told that they were on the way, but they never showed. Later I was told that they had problems with the truck, they never returned. I like the work they had done the previous year, and would like to use them again, But if I find someone else? they will be toast.

Great experience! They were quick to respond with an initial estimate, and I was able to schedule the work for two days later. They did exactly what I asked them to, they did it on time, and at a very reasonable price (relative to other quotes I received). I will definitely use them again.

They were punctual very professional and quality of work was excellent. They cleaned up whole area after completing project and even trimmed bushes in front of house. They reply really fast to phone and email. I highly recommend them.

I like Alex, and the work his crew did was fine -- when they were done our yard looked nice, and the price was good (lower than other estimates by quite a large margin). Alex also was willing to send his crew back a few days later to fix a couple of (minor) things that they had missed when they originally came. We appreciated his willingness to make things right. I would say that our main complaint has to do with communication. Alex didn't give us much notice of when he was putting our job on his schedule or when his crew would be returning to fix what they missed. After he provided the estimate for the work, we accepted and asked when the work could be scheduled. He didn't respond for a couple of days, so we emailed again. He responded (by email) on Sunday evening to tell us that his crew would be there the next morning, so we needed to scramble a bit to make arrangements for one of us to be home. Then after my husband communicated with him about the minor fixes we needed, his crew simply showed up on the following Sunday morning -- we were surprised by their arrival. I don't know much about gardening or landscaping, but my other minor gripe is that it's only two months later, and already the mulch is looking a bit thin. I am not sure whether that's just how it goes with mulch, or whether maybe they didn't put enough down, or what. All in all, I think Manzano Landscaping does good work at a good price, and both Alex and his crew were pleasant to deal with.

Great! Got an estimate the day of the phone call, work was scheduled within two weeks of request. Crew arrived on time and stayed until work was finished, all work was done as requested.

came out and gave and looked at our yard.We didn't have to be home. Called with an estimate and we said ok. He came out and airated the front and back yard heavly . Did wonders for our grass. Great company

I have called and called, emailed and emailed but no reply answers from this company. I'm upset because I always had great service until this season began. It would have been nice to receive a call or a return email on services scheduled.

Mr. Manzono's FIRST impression was impressive. However, his LAST impression was disappointing. On the first day that Manzano's team did our yard work, they were on time, pleasant, and actually did a good job. Because of this FIRST impression, my husband and I were actually thinking we would consider not only using Manzano's services in the future but that we would also refer him to SEVERAL of our friends. Why? Because, the overall job he had done on the our lawn was impressive and clean. With regret, our LAST impression of Mr. Manzono began. We have since been disappointed with Manzano Landscaping. Manzano indicated at the end of the day that he did our yard that it would take about 30 days before we'd see results. That was perfectly fine with us. He also assured us that he'd be back in 15 days to check on our yard to be sure things were progressing as expected, and that impressed us more. Later that same day however we noticed that Manzono's team had neglected to put mulch around a tree in our back yard. Since he had not been paid yet, Manzono was easy to reach and within a 48 hour period had his team take care of the tree in our back yard. We then paid him in full... regretfully. Why the regret? With the exception of a one-line e-mail, we have not been able to reach Manzano since that day. Understand that what was still pending was Mr. Manzono coming back to check on the yard at the 15-day mark so that we would know what steps to take on our yard to move forward with maintenance, and thereafter getting the grass cut. Since we're not landscaping experts, the rapid growth of the grass, while impressive, was also of concern to us because our yard appeared to be ready to cut. We didn't want to cut it too soon or wait too long to cut it so we were relying on Mr. Manzano to provide his follow up on how to proceed from there since he was the expert. How disappointing were we when Manzano's follow through never happened. It seems that after Mr. Manzano got paid he became difficult to reach. I tried to contact him by phone and no response, by text and no response, and then by e-mail a few times and finally got a one-liner response to say that he'd try to cut the grass the next day if it doesn't rain that hard. At the time, every weather forecast within the region had predicted thunderstorms for the next day. Ironic... The bottom line is that even to date, as I am writing this review Mr. Manzono has still failed to follow through on the status of his job for us as promised. Interestingly enough though, he did show up to give an estimate for a referral we sent to him and rather ironically was easy to reach by that referral this week. Well, we won't tell that referral what we've experienced since Manzano's FIRST impression with us. I just find it interesting that he could contact the referral we actually sent to him and yet completely ignore our attempts to reach him on something so simple - following through on the status of his job with us. In fact, after most of the work was done in our yard even our neighbor (yet another referral Manzano benefitted from) was impressed enough to hire "on the spot" Manzano's team of two to replace the mulch in her yard on the same day that his team did our yard. So, this is the thanks we get for the two referrals (one on the spot hire and another referral we sent his way later) we sent his way. Thanks a lot. I honestly had expected a WHOLE LOT more from Manzono based on my FIRST impression of him and the blue ribbon stamp from Angie's list. I should have paid more attention to the honest "not so complimentary" ratings on Angie's list about Manzono instead of all of the glowing remarks because it looks like the "not so complimentary" comments were in fact more accurate. I instead based my original opinion of Manzano on the FIRST impression which obviously was a mistake. I even was fully prepared to give Manzano a MUCH higher score overall on Angie's list for his performance for that day. But now, because of Manzano's failure to follow through and his lack of due diligence to at least try to contact a concerned customer for just a short two minutes on the phone to explain or apologize for not responding to the customer's calls, texts, or emails, his score is lowered because this lack of follow through is unacceptable and unprofessional. The score I'm now giving him reflects where I stand at this point. Recommendation: Mr. Manzano had mentioned on the day that he did the yard work for us that it was hard for him to keep up with his workload because he had a small team (two people did the work in our yard). If that's the case then I'd recommend either hiring more people to maintain the increased demand for his services, or, in the alternative, decline major jobs while he's shorthanded on workers until such time as he's in the position to handle the increased demand. [By the way, I don't consider grass cutting a major job or giving a two minute follow up phone call to a customer a major job.] Mr. Manzano just lost the possibility of further referrals from this camp. Based on my experience it appears that once Mr. Manzano is paid you may never hear from him again.

We contacted Manzano Landscaping a few weeks ago for some routine yardwork and gutter cleaning. They seemed nice enough on the phone and told us "Alex" would be by on a Monday -- a day or two after our phone call -- to look at our property and then we'd be provided an estimate. This never happened, so we contacted Manzano again. We were told the same story -- Alex only does estimates on Monday, so he'd be by the NEXT Monday, and then we'd receive an estimate. Again, we received nothing. We finally contacted Manzano again to give them the opportunity to rectify the situation and they sent the exact same message to us today, 5/9/13 -- that Alex only does estimates on Mondays, and so he'd be by (at this point, how many Mondays after the initial contact?) to provide an estimate. I thought it was a joke, but unfortunately it was not. We do not recommend hiring this company, as they completely wasted about three weeks of our time. I only wish I had known sooner so I could have hired a company that was serious about 1) its customer service and 2) about providing a service it advertises. I cannot imagine how this company stays in business.

From quote to completed service, it was a convenient and quality process. I would definitely use them again.

We called the company for estimation after reading the Review on Angies list and the Job that they have completed for others. We called on Friday 3/29/2 for estimation work in the back yard, Alex is the one who took our call and mentioned he will stop by on Monday evening between 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm, also mentioned send them email with the information. We promptly send the email, on Saturday we received the email about confirmation of appointment. On Monday, I had to start from my work early to meet Alex, waited until 5:30 pm and no show, I called him and he had forgot the appointment and started asking did we had one, and requested me to meet on Wednesday morning 7:30 am. ON Wednesday again no show, I was waiting until 9:00 am and left late for my work.
