I am so disappointed in Rubia Rodriguez. She reached me by text and came out to provide an estimate. I told her that I had not had a cleaning in six months. Even so, the estimate was higher than I ever received in 15 years. What was even more horrifying was that she stipulated that I also had to provide ALL of the supplies and cleaning products on her list including mops, swifter dusters and refills, etc. even if that was not what I normally used. Based on what she told me it appeared that I was paying an hourly rate for service only. But when I told her that I also wanted to have someone clean the family’s popcorn popper, the only item she was allowed to touch in the man cave, she told me “NO”. By the time she scheduled the three member crew to arrive on a Friday afternoon, I questioned whether the crew could do a deep cleaning in/or around three hours at a cost of over $100/hr. She told me that the house would be clean but not deep cleaned(?) and that bi-weekly cleaning would make the house shine more and more. Before she left, she promised to send the cleaning supplies list and confirm Friday’s appointment. I never heard back from her. At 9:52 that evening, I sent her a text and told her I was no longer interested. Her lack of professionalism and the fact that she showed her ignorance through her actions and inactions were unnerving. I have never had someone try to charge me $350 and tell me that my house may still not be deep cleaned although I hired her for that reason. I also never had to provide EVERYTHING and then be told that they would not clean a popcorn popper. This appears to be price gouging at its finest. I truly felt deflated and defeated and I truly question whether she was discriminating against me because I am Black. I definitely perceived it as such. As a result, I, for one, DO NOT RECOMMEND M&B Cleaning Services. This is Part 2. In my earlier review, I forgot to mention that I was also unnerved by Rubia Martinez’ lack of payment options. She told me that she only accepts cash, Zelle or Venmo and did not accept my offer to pay her by check even though she was aware that I have a checking account (since she asked for the name of my bank (???). Now that I am aware that she has accepted checks from her other customers, Rubio Martinez needs to also be advised that she is guilty of discrimination when she does not allow all of her customers to pay the same way. Providers such as herself are intolerable and should not be allowed to provide services to others in a discriminatory manner!
