Leonard Splaine Heating & Air Conditioning

I am so impressed! I called Leonard Splaine to get a second opinion on a replacing my AC start capacitor, at $400, that my current HVAC company said was going bad (by simply LOOKING at the part!). I was dubious. Mike Showalter arrived on time and explained all the part of my unit and he checked that each one was in the proper functioning range. Each one was spot on. Then he made sure everything was running fine inside as well. He didn't try to sell me any services. He was very courteous and knowledgeable. Even though I just renewed my contract with my current HVAC company, I'm going to call Leonard Splaine to return for my winter check. I paid $79 for diagnostics, he didn't rush and answered all of my questions. In the end he saved me well over $300!

A/C systems are a very important part of your home. So when it came time for me to replace it I did my research and shopped round. Eventually I went with Leonard - Splaine. After receiving my quote from Ted , I set a date to have the system installed. Brad and Rudy were the installers and they did a fantastic job. It was done right, done perfect and they went out of their way to make sure that I would be happy, for a long time, with the system. One example...the area where my system was installed outside of the house was not set up very well when the home was built. They install crew noticed this, and fixed the problem when they could have left it as it was...but they didn't. Why? Because they are professionals. They also were sticklers about details...wiring, ducts, etc...it was all done very well. If you need your A/C replaced call Leonard - Splaine. Just FYI...they did my heater 3 years ago and did a great job on that as well.

It came time to replace our 22 year old furnace and AC. We had an initial consultation with Leonard Splaine to choose a new system. We had used them before for various repairs and they always were great. Unlike others we used I trusted them and their skills. We went with the top of the line variable speed AC unit (which should save a lot on the electric bill) and new furnace. The installation crew was top notch, they tackled the project and had it up and running within a day. They even laid down drop cloths to protect flooring and carpeting. The system is outstanding with great airflow. The outdoor unit is so quiet you can barely hear it running. The touchscreen thermostat which is like a small colour tablet is great, very user intuitive, with extra features like wifi connect and weather forecast and radar. We are glad we went with Trane and even more thankful we chose Leonard Splaine to execute the purchase and installation. We will continue to use them for our future service and purchase needs. I can see why they have been in business since 1956.

This company far exceeded my expectations. I had been fighting to get my Heating and A/C unit fixed properly for over a year. I had a brand new unit installed in Feb 2017. I was having problems with it from day 1. Finally the original contractor stopped taking my calls. I had dealt with three other contractors that were horrible. When I got ahold of Ted, they were out within a couple of days. They ended up having to completely reinstall the A/C unit because it had been done wrong to begin with. They fixed all of the mess ups from the other three contractors. The price was more than fair and the service was excellent. I would highly recommend this company to everyone.

I'm not normally one to leave reviews , but the Leonard Splaine Co. Inc HVAC technicians are exactly the type of service that your average Joe (such as myself) turns to social media for recommendations for, so I felt compelled to share my experience with others who have also recently had to have their HVAC system replaced. Bottom line up front: I'd highly recommend Ted and his team and couldn't be happier with their service. They beat the price out of the 3 competitors and was straight forward through the whole process. Ted was able to find us the best deal on the market! I highly recommend them for all your HVAC needs.

Their website offers free estimates. I called and was told it's not free- that's for replacements only. When I politely told him that's bait and switch, he laughed. Again, I told him you can't offer a free service then say it's only for replacements...your website doesn't say "replacements only". Again, he laughed and hung up.

We love them. They're awesome. They're a pretty big company. They come about every three months. They actually deliver our oil, we have a service contract. And then they come about once a year to service our furnaces. The pricing was very fair. I wouldn't use them if they weren't fair because I always get a number of quotes. Two years ago there was a big snowstorm here. I thought I had run out of oil. We have a really long driveway. They got somebody out, in an oil truck, to me, in 24 hours as an emergency. They were able to get oil to me. It ended up being that I really didn't need it, but those guys were so awesome. They really do go above and beyond.

Small company. Always thorough and I like seeing the same techs. About $300 for service contract fee.

We get heating oil from this company, as well as all of our heating and air conditioning maintenance and repairs. They keep good records and try to provide our oil when prices are advantageous. We have been very satisfied for many years now. We have met numerous of their employees, and found them all polite and professional. f we have had any problem they have been very responsive, often getting to our place on the same day we called. No doubt we will be using Leonard/Splaine for years to come. I

Billy was the technician who showed up. He was very unfriendly from the beginning and would only respond to questions in a very condescending manner. After deciding the problem was in the thermostat he was going to leave it at that. I asked if he could put back an old basic thermostat I had so we could be sure that was the problem and have heat. With very few words he spent about 3 minutes putting the old thermostat on and confirming that the heat now worked. The charge for the 45 minutes he was there was going to be $79.00. However, without warning me ahead of time he charged an additional $125.00 to install the old thermostat. I thought this was excessive but he only responded rudely that it was that much. After he left I called and talked to the owner who was not very nice either. He explained that it was difficult to make any money in this business if they don't charge for things like that.

After having contacted five other contractors, I eventually selected Leonard-Splaine to complete my heat pump replacement. I had my doubts at first after having had many bad experiences in the past with contractors in general. My experience has taught me that, unfortunately, you just cannot be sure about the outcome until the job is done. However, I have gotten wiser from jobs in the past, and I ended up selecting Leonard-Splaine even though they were neither the cheapest nor the most well-known. I chose them because of their ability to answer all of my HVAC questions regarding such items as overcoming increased head pressures caused by unit elevation differences as well as their thoroughness in analyzing my existing infrastructure. I have found that such knowledge among HVAC contractors is rare due to the lack of standardization across the industry. The other contractors could not answer my questions, pushed products that were expensive but would not function due to my in-place infrastructure, or were just rude. The job is now complete, and I am completely satisfied with the end product provided by Leonard-Splaine. The installation was neat, clean, and exceeded my expectations. The technicians were very respectful of my property and cleaned-up major debris. My only regret is that I do not have more projects for them. I would absolutely recommend Leonard-Splaine to anyone and hope they will continue their standard of excellence into the future.

I moved into my home, as is, and it was time to turn on the heat for the first time since I purchased. I called Leonard Splaine to do a furnace check and tune up. The boiler worked fine, and was ready to go after a tune up. Unfortunately the house inspector missed a vital point in my hydronic baseboard heating system when he inspected it before my purchase: one of the pipes was ruptured and when I turned on the water it poured down my basement wall. Leonard Splaine's technician Mike worked very hard with me to diagnose the problem and solution. He figured out that I wouldn't have to dig out my wall (which was concrete) and could actually just rout the plumbing around the busted pipe. Mike saved me thousands of dollars in demoltion and restoration costs, which would have sunk me right after paying all my available money on a down payment. He spent something like 2 hours just trying to work around the problem, and never charged me for the extra time. Mike was so devoted to setting things right, he was like a godsend.
