First of all, if only to provide an indication of how professional Ray is, he showed up for the first estimate EARLY after responding promptly to an email. He was kind, very pleasant, and very thorough and came back to us quickly with a line-by-line estimate of how much the work (initially just labor as the cost of the tile would depend on our choices) would cost. After we agreed on the price, which to us was quite reasonable, Ray had us visit Mosaic Tile in Lorton to pick out various tiles for the floor and shower. They were wonderful to work with also and since Ray works with them on a regular basis, all we had to do was let our sales agent Liza know what we wanted, and she in turn would forward the choices to Ray who came through with the measurements so we wouldn't buy any unnecessary tile. Before the work actually began, there was a flurry of emails exchanged between Ray and me, being a first time remodeler with loads of questions - and he never stopped patiently answering my questions. He walked me through every step, every anxiety that I had, and I really appreciated that very much. He always got back to me within 24 hours too. I always felt that he had my back with respect to the suggestions he was making. Once the work started, Ray showed up promptly at the appointed time - usually around 7:30 in the morning - and finished all the work within the window he allotted for himself. He cleaned up every single day, laid out tarp and plastic to keep our staircase and hallway clean, made sure the workplace was always left neat, and was just an overall pleasure to be around. He worked cleanly and evenly, and did a FINE job. The hall bath looked beautiful! While he admitted that placement of our chosen listello was a challenge, he didn't charge us extra for that even if it took longer than expected to finish (but still within his proposed framework schedule). As far as payment goes, Ray completely differentiated himself from other providers in that he didn't ask for a down payment of any kind. His policy happens to be, you pay me when I finish the work and if you're happy with it. Everyone else usually asks for at least half down. I paid him maybe 85% of the agreed-upon price (which by this time already included the tile, based on the selections we made at Mosaic Tile and which he picked up for us) when the tile was set, and the remaining balance when he came back a few days later to finish off the tilework near the vanity. Ray is a true professional and takes a lot of pride in his work. He really did a wonderful job with our hall bath! I will definitely work with him again - in fact, we are about to schedule a shower revamp of the master bath this September. You can be confident that Ray will give his best to any job he is contracted to do. A fine craftsman of the highest level! Thanks Ray!

The owner is extremely responsive. Very prompt. In fact, be ready for the appointment 30 minutes early. He is always courteous and takes the time to not dirty your home while he works. Work is done on time and looks great. If you are looking for a tile contractor, I'd go with Lake Ridge Tile.
