Jim’s teams was great. Work was done on time. Provided paint information after they were done. Made a no charge return trip to replace deck board that popped after curing. Highly recommended. Fair prices for the work and materials all turn key.

Beyond believable since the other three contractor said the siding needed to be replaced. After Jim's team was finished the siding looks brand new. They caulked all the windows and joints to the house as well. Great job at a great price!
Description of Work: Painted the entire auminum siding of the house including all the trim.

The initial paint work went well. We were glad he could help on short notice and also take on some other repair tasks. However, once the job started, he never once returned my calls and instead randomly showed up at the job site. At the end, the extra jobs overextended his crews, they rushed the tasks to move on and quality suffered. Once I got the final invoice, I discovered I had been over charged by more than $900.
Description of Work: We had a large paint inside and outside plus power washing and other minor repair tasks. He also took on extra work to repair a basement room and put in an new enclosed porch floor.

Got a number of estimates for exterior painting and replacement of some rotting trim, Jim's had a good price and decent reviews, so I decided to go with them. Paid a deposit early in May, and was told I was "on the schedule for May." May 27th got a call that work would be done "next week." Nobody showed up. This was the beginning of a pattern, being told someone would come on a particular day, not showing up, not calling to let me know. Over the course of the next 6 weeks, I was told people would be out on 9 occasions, and only twice did someone show up when they said they would. Only once of the 7 times they DIDN'T show up did anyone call to say they wouldn't make it, most of the time I had to call them and find out what was going on. Lots of apologies along the way, but it never got better, and little concern for my time. When they actually did show up, they did do good work, so there is that. The job that was originally promised at the end of May was finished in mid-July.

Description of Work: Replaced deck; price included sealing, however, after numerous phone phone calls to schedule the sealing, 8 months later, I am still waiting. Also, crown molding installed inside - all the places where it was sealed and joined have now popped open. No follow up and poor quality.

Fantastic. Everything is broken down into very easy to read terms. If there is additional work you need done Jim draws it up while he is there. No guess work, no going back to the office and sending you a quote in the mail. Just a very easy process. You feel very secure that you are with a contractor that knows what he is doing. And actually does it. Which is a rarity these days. Highly recommend this service.

the woodworker did a great job replacing some rotten boads and making a "hatch" in the deck so that I can access the spigot under the deck. The painters did a very good job on the deck. They did get some paint on my siding but when I did a walk around with Jim after the project he had someone come back and remove the paint. Also they left a paintbrush on the grass which Jim took with him. My only negative is I got the estimate and paid 30% April 15th. Jim had said the project would be done in May. The project didnt get done until June 10th. I had to call the office to find out when they were coming and never really got a firm answer. I would have appreciated it if they had not only called me to let me know they were behind, and then also called me when they knew the date that they would be able to complete. other than that, I am glad I used Jim's.

Jim's team did start work later than expected but Jim did promise the Job would be done in May and they did meet that goal. When Jim's crews did come, they did perform the work requested and did a very good job. During the outside porch work, the carpenter accidently pushed a piece of wood through the inside of the House. But, as soon as we notified them of the issue they came out and fixed the small hole on the inside and painted the whole wall like new at no additional cost. Everything looks great now,
Description of Work: Jim Power Washed house, painted 20 shutters, did repair of woodwork around Trim and Porch, Painted all Trim around the House and doors, Painted the door, Painted Porch and the picket railing around the porch and down the stairs. Replaced bad porch columns and fixed dry rot wood on the side of the porch.

I hired Jim’s Quality Painting to pressure wash my home, paint my foundation, shutters, all wood trim and rails on the exterior stairs. In addition to washing and painting, they were also hired to replace four pieces of trim wood. I coincidentally happened to be out of town the day they came by to do the work. When I returned home a couple days later I walked around the house and it looked great. The dull/flat paint on my foundation was fresh again; the trim work on the front of the house looked new again. There were a couple things I didn’t think were done quite right and wanted Jim to come back out and take a look at. 1) When they pressure washed the house they missed the walk-up stairs from the basement. Subsequently, when they painted the walk-up stairs, they painted over moss and grass growing in the corners where the stairs meet the walls as well as peeling paint. 2) I wasn’t convinced all the wood I paid to have replaced had been replaced. Upon noticing this I immediately called to inform them of the missed item. I asked him to come by and look at the items with me but their schedule was packed and asked if he could come out in the fall; I agreed. Summer turned to fall and in Sep 2012 I received short military orders to go overseas and left before Jim had a chance to come out. Jim assured me they’d come out in April 2013 when the weather warmed back up to repaint the walk-up and check the wood. I just returned from Japan to move back into the house Aug 2014, the walk up had not been painted and I was quite sure nothing had happened with the wood. I called into Jim’s to talk to them expecting much resistance and very little cooperation considering two years had passed at this point. Instead what I got was flexibility and a willingness to do whatever would make me feel like I had been taken care of. After being contacted by my Property Manager, Jim had recently sent one of his guys out to the house to check the wood for me. He assured me there was no rotten wood on the house the wood was in good shape. He felt pretty confident his guys would have either replaced the boards or told him they didn’t so he could credit me back. However, since he had no proof at this point he offered to do whatever I wanted to make it right. That went a long way with me. We moved on to discussing the walk up. Jim made no excuses, just offered that if I called in the spring he’d come out to pressure wash and repaint the whole foundation for me again at no charge. Jim’s been in business for over 20 years, which is one of the reasons I went with him in the first place. His willingness to personally discuss the situation and reach a mutually agreeable solution says a lot for his professionalism. When I came back and found the uncorrected items, I thought I’d be heading out to leave negative feedback for them. First, I thought I owed them a chance to work with me to fix now that I’m back in town. Jim’s response was truly professional and speaks volumes for him and his business. There is nothing more I could expect from them. Mistakes happen in business; it’s how you handle yourself after they happen that separate the enduring businesses from those that flop.

Hard working crew extremely professional always on time, clean up was great I never had to worry about my house not clean after they were there. We hired Jim this April to paint the interior of our home and they did a fantastic job. We would hire Jims Quality painting again. He was very reasonable in price.
Description of Work: Jim did work for us outside with power wash and painting the trim and deck in 2012 and still looks great. We hired Jim this April to paint the interior of our home and they did a fantistic job.

This guy gave me an estimate to powerwash my house, deck, and fence (along with seal my fence and stain my deck) on September 18th for $1650 and required I put down $450. I wrote him a check for $450 dollars and he said he would be by within a month to complete the job. He never called or came by so a month later I called and asked when they would be coming by to get the work complete. I was told within the next two weeks it would be completed, but another two weeks went by and still nothing. On November 2nd I called and spoke with Jim directly and told him to just send me the $450 dollars back and I would find someone different to complete the job. He stated he would send the money back, but still no refund, no phone call and no mail. After I asked Jim for the refund no one ever returned my calls so sent I certified letter to his office, but no one would sign for it. I requested the post office make two more attempts over the next couple weeks, but still no one would sign for the certified letter. I then contacted the Stafford County Sheriff's Office and filed a police report. Only after the Stafford County Sheriff's Office contacted Jim did I finally receive a refund of my $450 dollars.

The final result was good with one exception. They rested the top window against the bottom before it was dry and all of my windows on the outside have an indentation where it pressed in the paint so it is not smooth. You don't notice it from a distance but for the price we paid I would have expected better. The contract said to paint the same color as was currently on the house. When they painted the front of the house, I noticed the first color was not right, and I had to argue with the owner that they needed to fix it. He ultimately did fix it when I quoted the contract to him, but at first he tried to argue and bully me into believing it was our fault. His flyers say that they offer half price off of every job. As the other member noted, this is misleading. The price he charged was twice what I was able to get this year when we painted our house and that painter got the color right and was more professional. The owner was basically a blowhard and you can get a better paint job, for half the price without having to listen to his posturing.
Description of Work: The painted the exterior of our house.

I was disappointed there was nothing about him on Angie's List or the internet. He was professional and clean cut. I did not feel uncomfortable having him come in the house. He posts fliers in the neighborhood every year for his services. I thought the pricing on his flyer was misleading. He did not seem to think so. He was punctual. He called ahead of time to let me know he was going to be late.
