The provider was quick to respond to tell me it would be an extra $50 to travel to my area. I then did not hear back from him for a day, which worried me. I am getting a refund for the deal because I do not want to pay the extra money.

My gutters had helmets on and were difficult to clean. They were installed about 8 years ago and were full of debris. The rain passed over the gutters down the side of the house they were so clogged. They used a power washer and did a great job. Water flows from the gutters now instead of bypassing them as they previously did. The next time I need any gutter work he is the one I will call. Mr. Hyland and his son did a fantastic job. They did charge a little extra but I was aware of this before they came. He informed me that because of the helmet on the gutters that there would be an extra charge. I told him that I understood and was willing to pay extra because others I contacted weren't interested in cleaning gutters with helmets.

Tenant noted gutters were having problems despite there being no large trees in the area. Bought the BiG deal (have used contractor happily before) and asked him to let me know what he found. Sure enough, there was a tennis ball blocking the gutters. Problem solved.

Hyland cleaned our gutters and our neighbor's gutters. I know our neighbors were very pleased but, speaking for myself, we were extremely pleased. Hyland responded to our call the same day; they provided services within two weeks (even though they're extremely busy with gutter cleaning right now); we had a few questions after they provided the service and Mr. Hyland himself responded and answered our questions. While they were cleaning the gutters, they secured 3 loose pieces of siding. They also gave us some advice on the gutter guards we're using. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hyland to anyone in need of gutter cleaning and we'll also be considering them for other home services in the future.

Provided good communication. Did a nice job. Bought coupon in AL for $99. There was an additional fee of $50 for a wrap around, but that was mentioned in the coupon. No surprises. Nice guy, good work. Would use again.

The gutter cleaning went as promised.

I could not be happier. The initial email I received from Mr. Hyland indicated that it might take some time for his team to get to my house as there had been so many recent requests (we had a big storm last week) I was desperate to get the gutters clean as I had water in my basement for the first time ever as a result of the big storms, and was hopeful clean gutters would solve the problem before the predicted rain this week. I expressed my concern to Mr. Hyland and the sense of panic I was experiencing (recognizing fully that my emergency is not his!) Mr. Hyland responded by making the effort and going out of his way to get my gutters cleaned the next day. The job was completed with thoroughness, timeliness and with the customer in mind. I will be using this company again!

As usual with Jim Hyland and his crew, they were very efficient, and Jim is just a great guy. We will be using them for other work on this house (painting, drywall, etc.).

They were out there fast, cleaned up after themselves and it was effectively done. They came on time and left a receipt for us. We had purchased a big deal for $99 and we did not pay anything additional. We were not home when they did it.

On May 14, I purchased a $99 gutter cleaning special from Hyland Home Services from Angie's List. With the last heavy rains that we had, I had seen overflow from the gutters in a couple of areas of my roof so knew that I had leaves blocking the gutters and/or the downspouts. With heavy rains expected tonight, imagine my delight when Hyland said that they were working a job in my neighborhood and could clean my gutters today -- one day after I purchased the special. The Hyland team came with ladders, hoses and all of the other tools needed to get the job done. Their team spent approximately an hour working to ensure that my gutters and downspouts were cleaned and flowing properly. Despite the fact that my house is larger than the maximum square footage covered by the special price and that my roof is pitched fairly steeply, Hyland Home Services did not charge any additional fees as the terms of the deal would have allowed! As to the Hyland team themselves, they were professional, pleasant and personable and I recommend them without hesitation. I plan on being a regular Hyland customer to keep my gutters and downspouts flowing clear. Thank you, Hyland Home Services!

Overall, well. However, there was a miscommunication as to the work to be performed. For example, I thought the deal was to remove the leaves from the git-go or bag them and put them in the street for pickup. It turns out, it was to move the leaves to the street for the county to pick up. While this is valid, it is only useful in the fall when the county actually has scheduled curb side leaf removal. Again, we worked it out and for a small extra fee, they removed the leaves from the back yard and I'm very satisfied with the work and professionalism.

This is a rental house and I got a notice of violation from the homeowner's association that the shutters were faded. Called Jim who was very helpful and pleasant. Went out and bought the matching paint, left it at the house for the shutters and Jim's crew had them all done the next day. The tenant sent me a picture and they did a great job. No splatters and very even coats of paint. definitely keeping Jim's phone number handy.

I was not at home when they performed the services. What I could see was done well.

I bought the Angie's list deal. I was not home when the service was completed. But when I got home the gutters were cleaned and a the receipt was posted on my door. I was concern that I was communicating via e-mail, but all work out quite efficiently. I will use this company again.

Jim Hyland cleaned out the gutters in our 1-story home. This is the second year we've had him do this, and he has been flexible, reliable, and friendly when scheduling and completing service. He was able to fit us in within a day or two of calling since he had some other calls in the neighborhood. Jim indicated the gutters at our house were easy for him to clean out relative to the larger houses in the area and each time used his blower to clear some autumn leaves on our walkway in the back as a courtesy after cleaning our gutters.

Everything went smooth. Easy to schedule and I didn't need to be there. Debris was cleaned up and no noticeable trash left on site.

Great job! Jim and his crew went above and beyond to deliver an outstanding output for us in these projects. Work was done superbly professionally in all regards. Repairs made to ceilings and walls in kitchen were done with great craftsmanship, leaving no visible hint of any previous problems. Painting was thorough and carefully done. Kitchen looks amazing, and left us wondering why we put of the project for so long! Removal of wallpaper in master bath was a chore due to the apparent thick amount of adhesive that had been used when it was originally applied. I was a bit nervous about whether it would come out OK, but Jim's crew worked diligently and carefully to remove it all without damaging the underlying walls, and then thoroughly prepared the surfaces before priming and painting resulting in a superb outcome. Dramatic difference from the old wallpapered room. Overall, exceptionally pleased and highly recommend Jim's services!

We badly needed to address the problems with our large front porch ceiling, clearly poorly constructed by original builder and with several previous bad attempts to make patches apparent from before we owned the house. Also wanted to remove the two non-functioning outdoor speakers which had been installed in the ceiling. I had hired Jim for several projects previously and was pleased to have him take on the work for us. He and his assistant inspected to ensure there was no larger issues behind the ceiling problems (i.e. water damage), and once so assured proceeded to reinforce, repair, and patch the cracked, broken, and weak areas as well as make repairs to a number of areas in the adjacent trim before caulking and painting the entire ceiling and adjacent trim and soffits. Given there was some extra paint remaining, Jim went the additional step of freshening up some of the lower trim and rails at no additional charge. An outstanding job, looks great, and I know the ceiling is now solid and will not have further problems. While on site, I asked that Jim also take a look at our skylight wells - although not leaking, some cracks and blemishes had developed over time in the corners of the trim and the drywall joints. They repaired all and spot painted to match.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it was great; they did a good job. They were delayed by snow a couple of times but I did not have to call him to come back; he came when he could. Pricing was based on the size of my home and the size of the gutters so I had extra charges. He explained this beforehand and did not try to cheat me. The price was okay and he was very responsive. He followed up with me and sent me a receipt, which was a good thing.

I bought a deal service and it was very convenient. I received an e-mail with a day stating I wouldn't have to be home and they'd leave the receipt when they've completed the job. They came one day when I was at work and left the receipt in the mailbox the next day. They did leave a lot of dirt and debris on my deck and deck furniture, but it was fine to clean-up. I definitely knew they came based on how much dirt was all over my siding/deck. But, the overall service, quickness, and price was a solid A. Thank you.

The gutters were full to overflowing with leaves and stuff. He did a great job.
