HOSKINS ELECTRIC

So we've used these guys a couple of times, and the main guy is super frustrating and downright rude. Today we had them back to do some more work and fix something they did last time that we had issues with. Not only did he refuse to fix what we didn't like, he stormed out and did none of the other work we had scheduled today. He is impossible to communicate with, he constantly interrupts you and goes off half-cocked, which make it obvious why some jobs don't get done right. I will never use this guy again.

Was given a quote by John Hoskins, the owner, to heavy up the electrical panel and various other jobs around the house. In the presence of my realtor I told him I wanted the work done the day after I closed on the house, giving the specific date. He agreed and told me I simply needed to call him a week out and reconfirm and mail him a check for a deposit. A week prior to the close, I called him and left a message as discussed asking to confirm the work for the following week. He called back in an angry and condescending tone, telling me I hadn't followed up with him and he was now busy that day. He was particularly angry that I dared call him on a Sunday and told me if I wanted the work done I should have called him weeks ago. I called him back and reminded him that he came to my house to bid the work on a Sunday, so I had no idea that Sundays were now off limits for communication. I reminded him of the commitment he made to do the work and also of his request to contact him a week before the work was to commence. He proceeded to give a rambling argument that he would never agree to doing the work on a Saturday and had already had a job for the upcoming weekend. Furthermore, he was doing me a 'favor' because he knew the realtor. I said fine and hung up the phone (at that point there was no way he was getting the job after the way he handled himself on the phone). He then proceeded to bombard my cell and home phone with a barrage of voice mails (8 phone calls, 5 messages) that varied between hostile and accusatory to apologizing for 'forgetting that I had you scheduled'. The hostile messages always ended with him accusing me of not following up earlier, the conciliatory ones kept asking if I wanted to schedule the work and telling me what a great price I was getting. I was angry at first, but then soon became alarmed at the tone of the messages, which were increasingly unstable. I wouldn't let him in the house to do the work for free.
