Great Job Moving and Storage

They were punctual and honest. They took very good care of my furniture. Nothing was broken. They worked continuously. My only complaint is they moved slowly which ended up costing me more in the long end. Other than that, they were perfect. They told me upfront how long it would take and how much it would cost and it was within that window.

We did not have a single chip in anything. Nothing was broken...all in good shape. The crew that unloaded in Midlothian worked diligently for about 6 hours to get everything in the house and set up. They were always pleasant and very easy to work with. My husband was in the military and we had many moves. We never once had a move that even approached the job these guys did.

They showed up on time and finished the work very quickly and professionally.

The movers were wonderful, and I would highly recommend their services. They moved our items quickly, with no damage, and we weren't subject to any additional fees (I know a lot of other folks who have used moving services have complained that this happens frequently). Very professional and hardworking pair of guys. They even set up our bed before leaving, which was great.

The whole move went really well. They were about 5 hours late arriving but were very responsive in letting us know when they would arrive. The reason for being late was because the move before us had a broken elevator and they had to use the stairs.

They were punctual, professional in the way they handled our furniture, etc., personable, and clean. There wasn't a problem with our move being on a Saturday and no added expenses. We were able to use a Big Deal coupon for part of the expense.

It went well. The movers were professional and asked a lot of questions to make sure that they did everything right. They were very careful with my furniture and the walls. The scheduling was perfect and they were very responsive.

The representatives were extremely courteous and responsive during the planning and scheduling process, and worked hard to accommodate our needs and constraints. We had them bid a fixed price, and the cost was reasonable and competitive with other estimates. The packing crew was on time and thoroughly professional as well, and did an amazingly fast job of packing and loading. They were in and out in under three hours, and the packing material and techniques were as good as any major moving company we've used. Our goods were returned on time and without damage, and the delivery crew was also professional, polite, and very accommodating in placing the boxes (and moving them around after we changed our minds). Overall a very good experience. Our only quibble is that their payment policy is either cash or credit card with a 4% surcharge (No checks including bank checks, no debit cards or bank debits). They are up front about it, but I missed it early on. Paying cash is not an issue with a job costing a few hundred dollars, but when you get up into the thousands it's a little odd to get that much cash, or keep it lying around the house. It doesn't alter my favorable rating, but if you plan to pay by credit card you should also add 4% to their estimate.

I called around to a few different places, but these guys had the best deal with the best rating. I bought the 3 men/3 hours $359 deal, and ended up paying an extra $400 (after the three hours, they charge $100/hour). Not what I expected, but still less than other companies. The guys showed up on time and answered all of my questions. While access to the apartment building's elevator wasn't always easy, they were very patient and polite. It took about three hours to move me out and another three and a half to move me into my new condo, the top floor of a four-floor townhouse. While the guys were pouring sweat and huffing and puffing up the stairs, one of them realized my couch wouldn't fit in the narrow hallway. One of the bigger guys then promptly lifted the couch on his shoulders and carried it around the ENTIRE city block to the back entrance, where the other two movers carried it up the back iron steps to the top floor (again, not as easy task -- there were narrow stairs too!) and brought it in my back door. They positioned all of my furniture where I asked them too, and after seven hours of hard labor, I realized I had misplaced their tip! I didn't have any other money on me, and didn't want to add the tip to the credit card because I had just charged $800 to it. The guys were sooo nice and told me not to worry about the tip -- they didn't try to make me feel bad or anything. I kept telling them I would search for it and call them tomorrow, and they kept telling me it was fine and no big deal. What kind, gentlemanly, professional movers. Luckily, I found their tip the next day and immediately called the company to get it to the guys. All in all, a great, professional team that still came in less than other companies. Would definitely use again!

G&J were able to schedule the move before anyone else, and on a Sunday which worked out well. They gave a very competitive estimate. . Three young men showed up on time and worked quickly and diligently to load the truck from the house and then drove to the storage unit where they did the same. The 24 ft truck was packed quit efficiently and professionally. Blankets and tape were used liberally. At our new home the truck was unpacked as efficiently as it was packed. The guys were polite and personable. They introduced themselves when the arrived and bid us a pleasant adeiu when they left. There was no damage to anything they touched. This was as stress free a move as I could imagine. The ultimate cost was about $300 less then the max quote they originally gave.

The movers were spectacular. They arrived promptly and after a quick walk through of the apartment contents got to work immediately. They had all of the tools they would need and did not require any direction other than verification of the items that we intended to move ourselves. They worked non-stop and were professional and courteous at all times, despite the fact that we had other groups of people in the apartment helping us move some one-off items that we were moving ourselves. They wrapped all of the furniture in both furniture pads and plastic wrap and were extremely careful to not scuff up the walls or doors both exiting the apartment or moving stuff into the townhouse. They arrived at the drop off location rapidly and were able to unload all the items in rapid order. They even assisted us with the set-up of various items of furniture which had to be reconstructed at the final location. We utilized the Angies List coupon which was a great value.And would highly recommend this company for moves.

They came on time, and did everything in a professional manner. They dismantled our bed and reassembled it at the house. There was no damage and no mess.

The move went even better than I could have imagined....like clockwork! I purchased a coupon two men, 16 foot truck, and a four hour block. Believe the truck was twenty feet and the move was completed so smoothly with approximately 11/2 hours remaining. All items were moved without damage and placed in the desired locations specified....very well done!

We just weren't able to get together on a schedule. The building that I live in has very strict rules on when service providers can come and go and the only thing that they had available was beyond the times. They were responsive anytime I sent an email.

It was phenomenal. No complaints at all.

They were quick. It didn't take them all that long I guess because I was number one in the list and they had a couple other jobs to do but they were fast. I think we were out of the condo probably in a little over 3 hours. I think they had finished setting up I think by 5 or before 5. The price was fair I guess. They were cheaper than the other company. I think the pricing was pretty fair. They came out when they said they would.

We had four radiators that were being sent out for refurbishing. The movers were very careful when moving these VERY heavy radiators down two flights of stairs. They were courteous and experienced. The overall customer experience was exceptional. I would highly recommend them!

It went very well and we couldn't be happier. The crew showed up towards the later end of the window and worked for the next eight hours to get our stuff moved. They were polite, extraordinarily hard working and managed to make the whole move without breaking anything. On time and on budget: what more could we ask for?

I have previously used this company and was satisfied and that is why I used them again. For this particular move, they showed up on time and even had an 'extra' guy helping out. I had bought the coupon special for 3 men for 3 hours and a truck. With that being said, it seemed to take a long time to get everything moved....about 7 hours. I did not have a lot of furniture, just larger items we could not move ourselves and the amount of furniture was approximately the same amount as we had them move previously. So not sure why it took so long this time, especially with the extra body there helping out with a few things. As I mentioned in my last review, these guys wrap your items A LOT and I knew that from before but it still seems a bit excessive. Also, a few things got scuffed and the hard wood floors in my new place got several scratches and scuffs. I did not say anything about any of the damage to the movers though. Overall they did a good job but I was not as impressed this time.

The company was flexible with me on my move scheduling. Movers called 30 minutes prior to my move date arrival time. I had previously packed boxes, color-coding them by room placement. The two guys listened to and followed my color-coded packing directions. The movers respectfully took off their shoes in my new place, and were timely, professional, efficient, and hard working. I had no damage to fragiles, furniture or walls at either residence. I would hire this company again.

I bought an Angie's deal for a 3-man crew for 4 hours with a 14' truck. After providing additional details about my move the company suggested a larger truck (additional cost) which was a good decision because I had a lot more stuff than I realized and they would have needed to make multiple trips (and that's extra time and money). The crew showed up and they were very professional and worked very fast for the allotted time. They went over the block of time I had purchased (by only one hour) but I observed that they didn't take any breaks nor were they slacking or wasting time. They worked extremely hard and very fast in my opinion. I needed extra supplies and they had some on hand for a reasonable cost. They delivered our items to the new house without ANY damage (and I had a lot of boxes with fragile items). I would definitely use them again (but I hope I don't have to - moving stinks!)

They could not get to me as quick as I needed them. They were very professional and polite.

The crew was very professional upon arrival they got right to work once they arrived, courteous, worked non stop until job was completed, would reccommend them in a heartbeat and I did use them again to move items out of a storage area to the apartment. Whenever I placed a call to the company with additional inquires they got back to me immediately.

They were very responsive to emails and scheduling the moving service. Although it seemed somewhat unofficial; I called several times to confirm that we were set. It was unlike other moving companies I have worked with where contracts and forms were signed prior to work being performed. We opted for a 3pm-6pm window for the movers to show up. A couple days prior to the scheduled move, I was contacted and told that the movers would most likely be there before 3pm, closer to 2pm (great!), so my husband and I rearranged our schedules to be ready for the movers around 2pm. Then on the day of the move when it was 3pm and we still hadn't heard anything from the movers (they promised to call 30 mins before arrival), I called only to be told that they would be there closer to 6pm. Needless to say, I was irritated since we rearranged our schedules to accomodate the earlier time we were promised. The company was unapologetic since we would still be in our initial 3-6pm quoted window. When it was 5:30pm and I still had not heard anything (again promised that we would be called 30 mins before arrival), we were told that they would still be there at 6pm, however, they were still in Alexandria, VA and were going to have to make it around the beltway at rush hour. Needless to say, they were late. They didn't arrive until almost 7pm! We were told that we would receive a measely 5% discount. Also needless to say that the movers (and subsequently us) were moving until almost midnight that night. The guys who showed up (a team of 5) were all really great guys and hardworking. They packed and wrapped all of our furniture very carefully and took apart our king size bedframe with headboard and footboard. They were all very nice. There were 2 guys packing everything into the truck and 3 guys wrapping and moving the furniture. They definitely worked hard, but even with 5 guys and what I thought was a manageable amount of furniture the move took almost 5 hours. I will say that they could have used a LOT less packing tape, which they are quite generous with since they charge you $3 a roll. Also later in the night when they were unloading at our new house, a couple of the guys took a smoke break just outside our garage, which wasn't too much appreciated. They also left a couple small items in the garage, which we discovered the next day. But nothing was broken or damaged (that we have discovered yet anyway). All in all though, I think I will call some place else next time I require movers, this was a much more stressful even than it needed to be, and moving is stressful enough.
