Great Job Moving and Storage

It took longer and we paid extra for the attention to detail. The one thing I am irritated by is that they did not keep track of their billing. The three men finished moving and left without leaving a copy of the invoice. They charged us $864 for the full service instead of applying the amount of the Big Deal credit.

It took 2 people about 4 hours, and it went smoothly. I would hire them again.

The movers came within the stated time frame and were completely done well under the 2 hours. They were careful and removed some pictures on the stairway walls before they started. They were very efficient and professional. I will definitely call them again for my next move.

Movers were scheduled to arrive between 8am-10am. they showed up at 9am and started working right away. They were meticulous and attentive to our furniture. We had no incidents and our move went very well. No damages and no scratches to our brand new stained floors in the new house. And there were 5 movers unloading there. The move was a bit slow though, i would have loved to finished a bit earlier than 10:30pm.

Cancelling the deal. Things moved more quickly than I expected, with my job. They were right on the ball with responding to me. We just weren't able to make it happen.

The movers were scheduled to arrive between 2-5 however, due to delays at the previous job and area traffic, the team did not arrive until 6:30 pm. They communicated updates to me throughout the afternoon/evening, so it was not a surprise. I expressed concern to Alex that this was going to go much later into the night so he offered to send another two man team to assist in the move and extended a discount on the hourly rate above what the Angies List deal covered. The five men got the job done in the allotted time, so it was only an extra fee for the trip to Springfield and tip. I always expect things to come up that would affect schedules and appreciated Alex's attitude and willingness to easy my concern about timing by sending the extra crew. The movers did a great job and took care in wrapping furniture to prevent damage. All items were moved successfully without any breakage or damage. I would highly recommend G&J and use them myself in the future.

I called G&J prior to my move across country to Oakton, VA as I would need a moving company to unload my 21' U-Haul truck. I used the 359.00 Angies List coupon for 3 guys and a truck. Even though I did not need the truck, the guy on the phone explained to me that it would be the best deal for me. I called the day prior to my arrival in Oakton, just to confirm our appointment. On 11/4, the guys showed up on time and had my truck unloaded in a little less than 3 hrs. NOTE: My condo is on the 3rd floor with elevator access and a lengthy walk from the parking lot to the elevator with steps. The boxes made it to all the correct rooms as marked, and there was no damage to any of my property.

Excellent service!! Receptionist was very polite and friendly. She transferred me to Gil, who went over my rather atypical request for packing - no moving. He was very detailed about costs and expectations. As my request was atypical, I could not make it fit. But Gil treated me very well. If I had a larger and more typical whole house move I would have used them. I also rarely write reviews for providers I don't use. But they took time to listen and try to work with me. Thank you!

I used the $359 coupon for a truck and 2 movers for 4 hours. They arrived a little early which was nice and promptly started packing and loading. They did a great job and used exactly 4 hours for the move. They did no damage to the apartment as well as my new home. Only complaint was that they charge you for extra things like tape, glass, tv's... While it didn't result in much, they wanted $65 to move my 55 inch LED TV which I thought would have been covered. I just moved it myself as we were only going one mile down the road. Overall though I was pleased with the moving service and would use again.

It went very well. We had three guys for three hours, and they ended up working two hours over; not because they were slow, because we had more boxes. The only thing that made us a bit nervous was the fact that they didn’t seem to read the labels on the boxes. Some boxes labeled “fragile” were on the bottom and not on the top. Good thing is, NOTHING was broken. We were very pleased with this company and would recommend them to anyone.

The first time that we used them to move items from our house to a storage unit, they did an exceptional job. When we hired them to move our stuff from the storage unit back to our house, their truck broke down on the way to meet us. The actual job of moving us back from storage to house was okay. Would definitely use then again if we were guaranteed the fantastic crew that we had for the initial move.

I sent them a request for an estimate through their online form on Oct 14 and stated that I was an angie's list member. It was just for a very small move, but I at least expected a response from a "super service award" winner that the job was too small if that was the case. Just ignoring my request altogether is rude and unprofessional.

The crew were punctual and pretty professional. They packed up my furniture and other stuff with no damage. Overall, they worked well, though the crew were not overly friendly.

They were on time and nothing broke.

I'll start off stating that this was the best, most professional move I've ever had. Everything was wrapped and protected before it was loaded onto the truck. They also took great care with the houses on both ends, and I didn't notice a single marked or scratched wall or floor at either house. The price was a little more than I was expecting (or used to, having moved inside Texas many times). However, this is probably the case where "you get what you pay for" since everything was perfect. Note that they were up front with all the costs, I just underestimated the time required and didn't expect them to wrap everything. The cost listed was for 4 guys ($125/hour x 6.5 hours), a 26ft truck ($150 one time gas travel fee), and packing materials for wrapping everything. I will definitely use G&J again for future moves.

Three movers were wonderful. Quick, efficient, pleasant, and very careful with belongings. My son was recovering from spine surgery and could only direct movers, but they were extremely sympathetic and kind. I've recommended JG to a friend who is moving this week.

It was terrible. I had to pay for tape and it took a really long time. They were purposely drawing it out – the storage unit lady even yelled at them for taking so long. I did give them a tip, though.

We had four guys from G&J Moving load everything from our very full 3-bedroom house onto a 23-foot ABF trailer. They arrived on time and got right to work. And they worked hard. Three of the guys wrapped the furniture, power tools, and other large items; boxed up things that hadn't yet been packed; and carried stuff to the trailer. The fourth guy played an awesome game of Tetris in the trailer, packing everything tight and to the ceiling. (I paid ABF based on the linear feet used, so his tight packing saved me money.) He also secured things every few feet with the straps I provided. At the end of moving day, I felt I got my money's worth. They never slacked off, the trailer looked well-packed, and the house looked empty. But, I wasn't ready to write a review until I unpacked the trailer?2,000 miles away and after 3 months stored on the trailer?to see just how well they had done. Before I go on, let me say that I had heard and read about some really bad experiences with ABF trailers, which are built for freight and don't have the same cushy suspension that real moving vans have. People found all their stuff had shifted, boxes fell all over the place, furniture broke or got scratched,etc. With those experiences in mind, I bought a bunch of moving blankets, moving skins (kind of like felt blankets and much cheaper than the quilted moving blankets), and paper pads (cheaper than the skins). I also bought ratcheting straps to secure things. Even with those preparations, I was expecting some damage when we opened up the truck at our new house. Well, when I opened up the trailer, it looked just like it did when it left Falls Church. I became more impressed with every linear foot we unloaded. Nothing had fallen or shifted and there was almost no damage to furniture or boxes. A couple of pieces of furniture had a few very minor scratches/dents, but the stuff traveled 2,000 miles on a bumpy trailer, so I was expecting much worse. It was clear that the careful wrapping of the furniture and expert packing had paid off. These guys work hard and they know what they're doing. I recommend them without hesitation.

They had a fantastic attitude, they were willing to accommodate us in many ways, and they worked well as a team. The one thing I didn't like is that I had a special piece of equipment that they needed to be careful with, which took a bit of coaxing to accomplish. Other than that, I really liked them and would definitely use them again.
