Great Job Moving and Storage

They were outstanding. Great in terms of communication, before they arrived they notified us one of the three man work crew was injured and they were worried about showing up on time, but they brought in a worker on his day off so their communication was fantastic. They very efficient, great at explaining everything through the process. They were careful and wrapped everything before storing.

Jeff provided the estimate to include options for "by the box" or "fixed price". We choose the fixed price option. It was a bit more than other estimates, but based upon their reputation we paid the extra for the quality. They lived up to their reputation. The office staff was flexible in meeting our schedule, even when the move day had to shift because the work at my new house was not quite done on schedule. Over three days the five man crew packed and wrapped our personal items. The crew was on time each day, they worked hard ALL day, they were polite and professional. Since the move was just across town they loaded the truck at the end of the second day and delivered the first load to our new house on the morning of third day. At the new house they place the items where we wanted and quickly figured out how the items from the old house were to be placed in the new house. By mid-day they were back at the old house to load the truck a second time and returned the new house to unload. It took one more trip late in the day to get the final garage items and the last items that were wrapped vice boxed. A long day in cold weather but the crew stayed professional and continued to take care with our property. Over the past two months we have be unpacking and settling into our new home -- we have had no issues with anything they packed! The only draw back is they accept only cash or cashiers check, unless you want to pay the 4% premium for credit cards. I moved over a dozen times in my previous military career -- these guys were the best movers, head a shoulders above the government contracted movers. This company has a very good reputation, they have earned it. They are worth the price premium!!

I found G&J on Angie's List in 2013 for my first move in 10 years. They did such a good job I only called them when I moved the next year. I have referred them to multiple friends who have used them; all where very happy. The 3 hour for 3 men special is the best deal. They have always been finish right at 3 hours. They have it to a science! They packed the furniture well, moved a very heavy sofa bed and where always friendly. I will continue to refer them to everyone I know!

The two movers who worked with us were very helpful, polite and professional. We completed some of the move ourselves to keep costs down, especially since our move was within such close proximity. They took great care with our furniture, taking the time to properly wrap things and checking with us about how we'd like to transport particular items. They were quite efficient and completed the move earlier than the time quoted, despite a sudden snow storm that happened right in the middle of packing up the truck. I would absolutely recommend this company and these two movers to others.

We bought an Angie's List deal to move my 94-year-old mother-in-law's furniture from her house into her apartment in a retirement community. It turned out that the suppliers of rental furniture she had been using were unable to remove their rental furniture in the time frame we had available for the move. We were able to work out an arrangement whereby they would load their truck with our furniture, then empty out the rental furniture by relocating it to another empty unit, and then moving our furniture in. My mother-in-law's furniture is old, many heirlooms, and very precious to her. Aleksander and his team were friendly, respectful, efficient, and very careful. They did a wonderful job of moving things from the house to the truck. They quickly emptied the apartment and neatly stacked the rental furniture in the space provided. Then they emptied the truck, unpacked fragile items, and reassembled whatever had been dismantled for moving. The crew leader carefully explained to us all potential charges in advance. Their efficiency and care made a move we had been dreading into a positive experience. My mother-in-law, who had been quite anxious, was delighted. We would use these gentlemen again in a heartbeat.

They broke two of my prize possessions, he did admit that he broke one of the items but would not fess up to the other. When offering to fix the glass on the curio cabinet, they should have called a glass company not try to fix it themselves. They mis-measured the glass and there was about 3/4 inc of air going through the curio cabinet. I called them to come back out to remeasure and put the new one in place. The owner finally came out with the new piece of glass and it finally got fixed. The customer service at this company needs a little refinement.

These people are amazingly wonderful. We had a severe ice storm on moving day, but they showed up on time and worked for 12 hours straight in some very daunting and difficult circumstances. I never heard one complaint from any of the men despite the hazardous conditions and freezing cold. They were very polite and helpful with all my requests. I thought the price was pretty good when it was first bid out, but once I saw how hard they had to work because of the weather, then I realized how good the bid was. I was impressed that they held the original bid despite the longer hours they had to work to get the job done. I would recommend G&J Moving in a heartbeat!

I paid for 3 guys for 3 hours but one crew member got injured the day before so they gave me 2 guys for 4 hours without an issue. My crew was working a man down but still took care of all my large furniture in 3.5 hours. Since my coupon was for 4 hours and they finished a bit early they threw out the cost of their packing materials. They guys were very efficient, kept a fast pace, and only asked for a brake once. All my item arrived without damage and I would defiantly use their services again.

I already used G & J movers in November to move our things out of a single family home into a storage unit. During that move they packed and moved. During the most recent move on March 1 st, they only moved our things. I have always used the ?big name movers,? but had a bad experience the last few times using the larger firms. The guys from G & J were prompt (early usually), professional, very competent, and efficient. These guys knew what they were doing and did it fast, but cautiously. In addition, they were a fraction of the cost of the big name movers. I will not go back to any other mover while I am the DC area.

The team arrived early (1/2 hour) and got right to work. They walked through the house with me to see which pieces of furniture would be moved to storage. The carefully wrapped the older pieces of furniture to give them extra protection. The three gentleman were professional and polite. I would call them again for another local move.

The movers did a great job. However, costs easily climb up because transportation time is factored into the overall time frame. If the move is done during rush hour, it could add significant costs. That's not a reflection of the quality of the movers - just a consideration to keep in mind.
