Great Job Moving and Storage

Can't say enough great things about Roman, Jose, Amri, Emilio, Chepe and Gilberto, the movers, and also Jeff, who coordinated with me via email and answered about a hundred questions I had prior to the move. They got everything in the truck and unloaded it all in a very reasonable amount of time, and not a single item broke. They were fun and professional and an absolute blessing on a normally very stressful day. A million thanks!!

They are always on-time and professional. They go above and beyond taking care of their clients. What I've also found is that they take even better care of loyal clients. We like to rearrange the furniture throughout the house a few times each year. The first thing I noticed about this company and their workers was that they take such good care when handling our furniture. Didn't matter the size or material they padded and wrapped furniture moving from a living room to a family room. The cost is up-front and very affordable. No attached fee coming out of nowhere such as the experience I've had in the past with moving companies. The customer service from the reception to the workers on-sight are also above par. No matter the size of your move I highly recommend giving G&J Moving and Storage a call. Absolutely love them! In fact I'm getting ready to book another appointment.

I had an AMAZING experience with G&J and will not go with any other moving company from here on. Moving can be an extremely unpleasant experience and G&J did everything to made it as smooth as possible. The crew was amazing - Jose and his team of three other movers were very good natured, listed very carefully to my concerns and handled all my boxes and furniture with utmost care. Jeff, the manager, was extremely helpful from the get go - he arranged my move in 2 days time, and was always very polite and courteous. My couch sustained some scratches and a mirror was not properly secured to my dresser - though I only realized this a couple of weeks after the move. When I called Jeff, he offered to either file for insurance of repair the pieces. He personally came to repair the items and to ensure that I was satisfied. This is the best moving company and they endeavor to offer specials that make them affordable.

Let me preface this review in saying that I am the kind of person who loves getting great deals. Some would argue I am obsessed with getting the best possible deal. I feel that I have received the best possible deal when I feel that I got good value for the lowest possible price. My initial contact was through Jeff who was very polite and easy to communicate with. He asked that we fill out a questionnaire so he could provide accurate pricing on the move. I had already called 3 other reputable moving providers on Angie's list so I had a rough idea of what to expect. To my surprise their non-binding quote came back lower than expected. Also, it's important to note that it was non-binding meaning I didn't commit to spending a certain dollar value regardless of the time they completed the job in. Some of the other providers tried to hard sell me on their fixed price fee and how everything (packing supplies, wrapping materials, labor truck, transport fee, etc) was all included but the pricing seemed too high. When I reviewed the quote with Jeff he said that if they finish faster than expected than we pay less and obviously more if it takes longer. Their per hour rate was substantially lower than other providers because you had to pay for packaging supplies separately while others bake it into their per hour rate. Jeff explained that it makes more sense to pay for materials separate because everyone has different level of needs and college student moving doesn't need the same packing supplies as a family with ornate antique furniture. I'll have to say after hiring G&J Moving he was 100% correct. On the day of the move Jeff called me 1 hour before the arrival window and asked if we needed additional packing supplies before he dispatched the truck. Basically if we hadn't properly prepared they would come with additional supplies to assist with packing. Then the driver called 30 minutes prior to arrival. The 3 man crew arrived in a 26 foot truck which was overkill for my size move but I didn't mind because it guaranteed we would get it all done in one trip. The crew who arrived were incredibly nice, super polite, and outrageously hard working. They immediately came in to assess to moving needs and asked what items needed special attention. After assessing the needs they got straight to work. And by work I mean they hustled hard to shrink wrap my couch, cover and wrap my dresser, load all my boxes. If there was ever any doubt they made sure to stop and take extra caution with certain items asking if I wanted extra wrapping to protect them. After getting the truck loaded in record time we took the short trip to my new place and I showed them the rooms to put certain pieces. My townhouse is typical in that it has narrow hallways and staircases so it was not the easiest move in the world for my bulky furniture. I even asked them to try and avoid touching the walls since I had just had them painted. At the end of it I could not believe these guys didn't mark up the walls or blemish a single piece of furniture. All in all G&J Moving is the real deal. They got the work done 50 minutes faster than anticipated. I made sure to buy them lunch and provide a nice tip because they earned it. G&J Moving is a super legitimate moving company and we were so pleased with their excellent level of service.

I first received what turned out to be a very accurate estimate of costs from Jeff Kuznecov. The price was competitive, and what little small print there was, was easy to understand. So I booked. Moving day arrived. I received a call from the crew leader (four workers and an ample/large truck) to say they were en route. They arrived on time and started to work. Furniture was diassembled if needed and fragile items handled with care. The workers were uncomplaining, despite some rather heavy items I needed to move. They were also unfailingly polite, asking permission to use the rest room. They worked as a team, tirelessly- my back ached vicariously watching them. It was a cold (low forties, gray sky with rain) not enjoyable weather.... The truck loaded, they made a brief pit stop for lunch (the time deducted from the bill) and we drove the seventy miles to Aberdeen. It had gotten colder and the rain did not stop. At the town home, newly painted, new floors and carpet, they unrolled carpeting from the front door to the living room to protect the floor and function like an extended door mat. The foreman asked for a tour of the home to get a sense of where things should go. Then the work recommenced. I actually felt a bit guilty seeing the pains this crew took to avoid scuffing or otherwise damaging any portion of the house. And here too, despite the long day, they were unfailingly polite, asking where each box should go when my scribble was not legible. The way they were careful, yet untiringly efficient, left a highly positive impression on me. It was like they were working for a family member, not a complete stranger. I was so pleased with the reasonableness of the bill for the move (NO surprises! ), and amazed and grateful for the quality of the service, that I happily tipped each member of the crew a hundred dollars.... Moving is such a stress inducing pain, but I felt all the previous month's worrying dissipate as I watched tbis crew work to square me away in my new home. Fantastic!!!

Jeff from G&J provided me with quote by email. He sent 4 guys (apologize for not remembering their names now). They were a bit late arriving but that did not impact me. The guys did a great job wrapping every piece of furniture properly, using carpet runners as I requested before, loading every thing onto the truck and unloading every piece of furniture properly at the 3-level townhouse. Jeff was professional and he did not allow a surcharge for the washer & dryer units which had to be carried to the 3rd level. The movers were imposing a surcharge which was unexpected but Jeff heard us and agreed the surcharge was not reasonable. He also honored the 5% Angies List coupon. Overall the experience was positive.

They were professional, flexible, moved quickly and we had a great experience with them.

The movers were punctual and fast, but also careful to not damage my belongs. I am moving again soon and plan to hire G&J again. They were great.

This is the third time we used this company. They are on time and we have yet to have anything broken. Jose was the foreman and is very knowledgeable and personable. His crew did everything we asked in a courteous and professional manner.

The team was great. They arrived on time, quickly loaded the truck and quickly unloaded it at the new house. The whole thing took only 2 hours. They were careful with our furniture, wrapping it thoroughly in furniture pads and plastic to make sure nothing got damaged. The only reason I give them a B for price is because they also charge a travel/gas fee that's just as much as the hourly fee. That may be an industry standard, but for moving us half a mile it seemed a little high.

I would use them again in the future. They broke a number of things. They could have been more careful.

I don't know where to begin, There is so much to tell. Sam and his crew were simply amazing. They arrived precisely on time. The cost was higher than I expected, but that was my fault, not the company's fault. They are very fair, and very upfront with their charges. The crew was extremely professional, wasted absolutely no time--did not stop for a break--at all. (in hindsight--get these guys food. That's my biggest regret. The are "work horses" and literally will work until they drop and will not stop for a break at all.). I was exhausted from preparing for this move for six straight days--I still was not ready when they got there, and I was so frazzled. I did this move on my own, and I did not follow the advice of my boyfriend (who lives 1500 miles away) and let him hire packers. I chose to do it myself. I strongly urge anyone who wants to go that route,,,don't. Hire these guys. You will not be sorry. If i had it to do it over again, I would hire them in in an instant, I based my former decision on a disastrous move from Houston to Virginia, As soon as they arrived (in Houston) they shoved a survey (Angie's list) in my face and told me to "like them" on Facebook. They wanted my signature before they ever started., The move was a nightmare, and they had no respect or me or my property. I was s skeptical when I hired this company, but I read the reviews and just had to trust. 'm so glad I did. Needless to say--HoustonMoversRUs (and I have no problem putting their name out there) are not on Angie's List anymore. I cannot say enough how these guys with G&J truly came through for me. It was amazing how they packed the truck so professionally--perfectly. Simply amazing. Hire these guys. I promise...you won't be sorry.

The crew was fantastic! The three of them (Tatenda, Emilio and Jose) were courteous, friendly, professional and meticulous. I especially appreciated the care they took with my items and the care they took moving furniture and large pieces around tight corners. They were very mindful and took special care of the boxes I had marked as fragile. The packing & moving took 10 hrs. They started at 11 am and ended at 9 pm. We originally estimated that the move could be completed in 7 hrs but I had a lot more stuff than anticipated. The crew spent approx. 7 hrs packing, disassembling furniture and loading the truck. The unloading, assembling, etc. took about 3 hours. Even though I had reserved parking spots at the destination, by the time we got there, all spots except one were taken. The crew was not fazed, took it in stride and did a great job making the best of a bad situation. Tatenda (the foreman/team lead) packed the kitchen while Emilio & Jose unassembled & packed furniture and moved items to the truck. It was clear they had worked together before; they were organized and each knew what to do. They made my move stress free (as stress free as it can be) and I would use their services again without hesitation.

I pre-purchased the 5 hour service here on Angie's List (26ft truck and four men), which I now understand he uses just to tease and bait customers. When this mover moved my family, it was in the owner's interest to work as slowly as possible - as he bills by the hour. Our only heavy item was a traditional smaller Kimball upright piano. That was it. Everything else was very straight forward. After eleven grueling hours, they still were not finished (the two locations are 6.4 miles apart and there was zero traffic), so I had to sent them away so we could actually get some sleep. In the end, he billed $222 for plastic wrap and tape, a piano surcharge that was not agreed to and his crew's 20 minute in-route stop at 7 Eleven.

They charged by the hour (as they all do), and I felt they were slowing down to get into the 3rd hour of service. Also, I saw them drop a box marked "fragile" and I haven't accessed my stuff from storage to see if anything broke. But I will say they were professional and managed to pack the pod with all my stuff - something I wasn't sure was possible.

I used G&J Moving almost two years ago when I moved from my two level townhouse to a temporary basement apartment. At that time they did a phenomenal job; so naturally when it was time to move to a more permanent residence the decision to use their services again was a no brainer - or at least that's what I initially thought. The first time they moved me the crew they sent was more mature in age and did an excellent job moving all of my items, including my treadmill. The crew they sent for my most recent move were three young men. It was as if I had hired my younger brother and two of his friends to move me instead of professional movers. They did a decent job moving most of my furniture out, but struggled with heavier items and most of all with my treadmill. They didn't bring any tools with them, which meant scrambling to figure out what to do to get my treadmill fully assembled out of the basement apartment. Finally they were able to angle it to make it through one of the larger doors. I told them when we get to my townhouse I have tools they can use to remove the handrail. It took all three of them to get my treadmill out of the basement apartment with frequent stops along the way. When we got to my townhouse, I gave them tools and they removed the handrail from my treadmill in hopes that would make it easier to transport. Even after removing it, they struggled to even get it into the bottom level much less to the top floor where I wanted it (I had most of my gym already set up in one of my spare bedrooms). Most of the time they were at my house one of them commented over and over that no one puts a gym on the top floor, that it should go on the bottom level. They even offered to move my lower level TV room to the top floor and bring my gym items downstairs! I explained again where I decided to have my gym and that the bottom level is already set up the way I want. That should have been enough to stop the comments (and offers), but it wasn't. At one point the lead mover contacted his manager to send pictures of the treadmill and my townhouse. They said my townhouse is too narrow to move the treadmill upstairs and they could attempt it by trying to further dismantle my treadmill; however, the lead mover made it clear that his manager stated they would not be responsible if it no longer works after being put back together and did I want to proceed. Absolutely not. I wasn't confident they would be able to move it even after trying to disassemble it further. Not to mention there wasn't much more dismantling they would do. Prior to hiring G&J I told them I had a treadmill that needed moving. I told them the type of treadmill and also asked if they wanted to see pictures. They declined to see pictures. For the items they did manage to get into my house they dinged, scrapped, and marked my walls up doing so. Not once did the manager speak to me or call me after knowing that my move did not go well. The only upside is these young men were polite and like-able, but simply not equipped for my move. Long story short I ended up hiring another moving company who sent two men and got my treadmill to the top level in less than 15 minutes. Unfortunately that also meant I was out of pocket additional money to complete my move.

It went well. I only wish they had bigger boxes. They had a bunch of smaller boxes but no big boxes. The movers were really nice guys though.

I contacted the company and booked certain date. Same day I received an email saying that they gave away our date. I was furious. We were able to find alternative date. On the date of moving the driver was supposed to call us 30 minutes before the arrival. He didn't. The problem was that we had to chase our cats and put them to cages when the guys were there. If they called, it could save us some headache. Sam and his crew worked hard and tried their best. Several days after that I for a phone call from Alex saying that there was a mistake of $130 in our bill. I explained that I don't think that I should pay to the lunch break that the movers had. I offered to order them pizza, but didn't expect top be billed for the time that they were eating. Alex greed to take the break time off the bill. I was happy about the way the job was performed, but everything around it was a mess.

It went well. Not too much to say. Moved a 2K sq ft home and there were only two issues: (1) broke two glasses (out of several dozen), (2) installed one railing o a crib upside down. All in all, it was a good experience.

They were prompt, called ahead to let us know they were on their way, and did an excellent job! We told Mr. T that the items would be in storage at least a year and then transported across country so he was extremely careful to pack everything with extra wrapping so it would be well protected. He made suggestions that we agreed were best for articles that were difficult to pack and did an outstanding job arranging everything in the 10x10 foot storage space. They were very professional and accommodating. This is the second time I have used G&J Moving and I would high recommend them to others.

Alex and Jeff are consummate professionals, as was the lead mover Sam. I contacted G&J, and within a day or two, Alex came to my house on time and gave me a binding estimate, which was a good price in my estimation, given the 4 or 5 other estimates I received (only one other company came to my house for an estimate). On the pack/load day, movers were punctual and professional. On the move-in day (next day), movers again were punctual, professional and efficient. Sam, the lead, was courteous and professional. Movers were very accommodating. Everything was carefully packed and handled and delivered. I hardly write reviews, but felt obligated, as G&J are top-notch. -Jim Hewitt

The overall process was excellent, from scheduling the packers and movers to the actual move itself. The crew arrived on time both days, worked very hard, were polite and respectful. They clearly were motivated to do a great job and appropriately charged tor their time and services. All items were heavily cared for, furniture was well wrapped and prepped for transit. It would have been a bit more helpful during my unpacking if they had a more detailed manner to label and inventory boxes, but nonetheless, they did an excellent job.
