He did a good job. except a vent pipe later leaked so I think they missed that. but every thing else was just fine. Mark also put a brand new roof on another house for me and did a great job. He is very responsive to calls and questions. good clean up. could not tell they had been there.

Roof had minor to medium leaks at several points along the ridge. A prior repair by a competitor only patched the ridge vent and the leaking returned. Mark came by to look at the roof and provide an estimate within 24 hours of contacting him. Unlike some of his competitors, he went up on the roof and examined everything. His bid was the best and he scheduled the work as soon as the weather permitted. His crew came, did all the work, cleaned up and left within a few hours. All very professional. It has been about two weeks since the repairs and it hasn't rained too hard yet, but so far it appears to have fixed the problem.

He did a good job and didn't rip me off. I had 4 other estimates and they all wanted a lot more than he charged me. He found a few other problems on the roof and fixed them without charging me more. He showed me the problems and said he could not leave without fixing them. He was honest, hardworking and trustworthy. I feel confident in him as a contractor.

Removed and replaced the entire roof; Included: - removing all shingles, underlayment, and disposing of it - keeping site clean every day; nails found with a roll-around magnet bar - removing and replacing gutter covers (this must be specifically added to your contract) - replacement of damaged wood - installing new flashing - Installing an adhesive rubber membrane on ALL roof edges - (this goes well beyond code requirements, and also must be specifically included in the contract) - Installed adhesive rubber membrane on all roof penetrations - Installing new flashing and shingles - Final cleanup; you could not tell they had been there Mark Furr and his people did an outstanding job. He was helpful with information before we bid the job. He identified the source of our leak quickly and accurately. He was willing to meet a competitor's bid. He brought experienced workers and an excellent supervisor to the job. And he personally examined a serious problem left by the original builders and devised an ingenuous solution to the problem. I can recommend Furr Roofing with complete confidence.

They gave me a very fair estimate. I ordered the new system. It was going to be a week for everything to come in and get installed. As luck would have it, three days later everything stopped. It was in the middle of August and we were having a tremendous heat wave. I had no ac. I contacted Furr and they moved me up to be as soon as it came in. They installed everything. I was only like a day and a half without air conditioning. When they come to do the inspection every six months, they won't tell you a time. It's the whole day that you wait for them.

We were very pleased with the whole process. Mark Furr came out personally to assess the job and he was quick to tell us that we didn't need a new roof. (Our roof is 12 years old and showing stains from algae.) Mark explained how he would fix the problem and answered our questions. He appeared to be very knowledgeable. He didn't add any pressure to decide now or get the job done quickly. We got estimates from two companies, which added to our confidence in both the diagnosis and pricing because the two quotes were very similar. Mark responded promptly, when we emailed follow-on questions. The work was done on time and everyone involved was professional and courteous. The result looks perfect and we are confident that the leak has been fixed, for good. They even replaced one board just because we thought it looked suspect, an extra effort to provide customer satisfaction. That's especially remarkable because our repair must have been a small job for them. We are happy to recommend Furr Roofing to Angie and everyone on her list.

Mark Furr personally visited and worked with me as the owner to ensure all my many questions were answered and all options explored and clearly understood. Mark provided a timely and price and quality competitive bid and I selected Furr Roofing from among three bids from local roofing contractors. My decision was based on willingness of Mark and his employees to go the "extra mile" to make sure I got exactly what I wanted and to meet my schedule constraints. Then, when the need for some extra work was discovered during the tear-off process Mark went ahead and took care of it at no extra charge. I have personally inspected the work and find it to be outstanding. When the job was finished the grounds cleanup was perfect. You could not tell we had had a 50 year old roof torn off and replaced. Just a great company to work with.

Mark Furr came out when we had a leak and needed a new roof. He completed the repair at no charge. He was professional and very responsive. His bid for the replacement was consistent with competing bids from other quality providers I had identified via Angie's List and another source. It was a very close decision. We ultimately went with a different provider who was able to commit to the emergency repair sooner. (There was a communication confusion where Mark actually ended up doing the work, but the other company had committed.) Unfortunately, you can't say yes to everyone. I was impressed with Mark and recommend you consider him and his company for your roofing project.

Last week during the heavy rain storm we had a bad roof leak that caused a lot of water to leak into our kitchen wall and then into the basement. This had been a problem leak that two other roofing and siding contractors made two attempts each to repair and failed. After the previous contractor said he didn't know when he would have time to stop the water leaking into our house, I called Mark Furr from Furr Roofing and General Construction in Woodbridge VA. Furr had been recommended to us by neighbors in the past. Within two hours Mark personal showed up at the house and climbed up onto the roof during the rain storm and found the cause of the leak. The leak was caused by problems overlooked by the two previous contractors and mistakes made by the previous contractors which made the leak worse. Within four days the crew from Furr was at our house and fixed the problem. The work was done professionally by courteous and truly interested people for a reasonable price. Our only regret is that we did not use Furr originally and they will certainly be our first call if we need any additional work done at our house. Was attempting to leakproof an older roof in advance of a storm. I called several companies but Furr stood out among those who would consider coming to Falls Church for such a small job. The workers were professional and prompt. I was grateful for their efforts, given that it was such a small job, as compared to replacing the entire roof.

The entire experience went very well ? from the initial estimate through completion of the job. The job took one day. The crew arrived on time in the early morning. Every member of Mark?s crew was so pleasant to deal with. they worked diligently and effectively as a team, and they cleaned up meticulously! I would certainly use them again. He was on time, the estimate for repairing the leak was quite reasonable, he was courteous, friendly and I would call them again if I had another problem.

Don't know if nature of work wasn't something the company was interested in. Regardless a follow-up call would have been a professional courtesy.

Very good experience - showed up on time, very meticulous on cleaning up and containing debris generated during the whole process. Had a slight problem with the seal around the vents, but they were VERY prompt to come out and take care of it. They are very conscious of their reputation and want you to be satisfied. Would recommend to anyone.

Great job with everything, and the work was completed even sooner than was estimated when a slot opened up. Mark was very professional with all the work from the estimate to the actual fix. Even better, my roof was estimated to last me between 2-4 years (We just bought the house), and with Mark's work, he extended the life of the roof to approximately 7 years. We will be calling Mark when we need a new roof!

Great. We also replace siding. Owner worked with me to match color of siding and roof. Only wished we were told that he was subcontracting siding part of job. Siding company also did a great job!

The crew showed up on time every day. They even battled rough weather to get the roof done before winter. Also, the crew cleaned up very well and they were a great bunch of guys. Mark, the owner, I would recommend him to anyone.

Mark from Furr Roofing was exceptional. He showed up on time, inspected the ceiling, then promptly went up to the roof. He explained what had happened and quoted me a price to resolve it. We agreed on the service and date. When he showed up with one of his workers to do the work, he told me that he had been thinking about the problem on the roof, and it occurred to him that the flashing was not large enough to cover a gap. So he brought one with him and did not charge me for it, since he felt it was his responsibility to have thought of that earlier. Great attitude, great to work with and I recommended him to my neighbors. I would hire him again.

During a rather windy storm we lost some of the siding and house wrap on on our townhome. We called Furr Roofing and they came out that afternoon, tacked down the wrap and remaining siding and took all needed measurements in order to place the order for new siding, housewrap, and insulation. A day or two later it stormed again and more wrap came loose. They came out a SECOND time and tacked the stuff down again! WITH NO CHARGE!! When the siding came in the next week they were out here immediately. They replaced the isulation, house wrap and siding that morning. Cleanup was done well and completely! They even hauled off the siding we had chased down and stashed in the back yard. They did a great job and I am so impressed that I will recommend them to ANYONE for ANYTHING at ANYTIME!! Way to go, Furr Roofing!!!

I sought several estimates. He seemed the most honest and he clearly explained the contingencies affecting the price. The owner surprised me by coming to my home to inspect the work. There was a quick turnaround between when I entered into the contract and when the work began. This was so even though hurricane Sandy had just drenched the area. I am very pleased with the service and the work.

Called Furr on 10/29 after Hurricane Sandy started my roof leaking. Said I needed a repair. Also said I realized a lot of other folks needed repairs, so if Furr was too busy , just say so and I'd find someone else. Mark Furr called back later that day and said he'd come out later that week after the rain stopped and he'd call before coming. He didn't come. And he didn't call to say he wasn't coming. I called again 11/7 - 9 days later - with another rain and wind storm on the way - and asked him why he hadn't come. He said that "estimate" was just "speculative" and he had "a big pile of paper on his desk". I don't know what quality work these folks do.. But if you need a roofer you can count on, I'd suggest trying someone else.

We needed to have a new roof put on our home prior to putting it on the market, which we decided to do rather quickly. Mark was extremely responsive and was able to schedule us quickly for the roof replacement so that we could meet our timeline to get our house on the market. The person who came to our house for the estimate made excellent suggestions on the best color shingle that would enhance the brick of our house. On the day of the installation the foreman noticed that he was picking up the wrong shingle, which was due to a miscommunication between my spouse and I. Mark called us immediately and was able to quickly get the correct shingles to our home for the installation. We really appreciated how quickly Mark got back to us and answered all of our questions, and how friendly and personable he and all of his staff were. The new roof definitely helped with a quick sale of our house and we will be using Furr Roofing again to replace the roof on our new house once that needs to be done.
