Emerald Ironworks was started in 1981 by Michael Pigott. His son, Justin, grew up in the company and has been managing operations since graduating from college in 2005.
The company currently has 12 employees. We strive to be a top-performer when it comes to quality, beautiful design and customer service. Out specialties include railings, garden gates, automated/electronic driveway gates and other architectural metalwork.
The company didn't do anything as they did not bother to call me back after I called them, left a voice mail message then 10 days later I called again, spoke to a live person who would relay the message to Mike, who didn't return the call. I would not recommend them to my friends or family.
Description of Work: Lack of responses to inquiry of an estimate for work to be performed in regarding to replacing the front entrance railing at my Mother's home.

I have always been very happy with them and they have a good sense of aesthetics.
Description of Work: They made an 8' x 4' security door and they used a laser to cut out Irish patterns in the door, it is basically a security gate.

I am pleased with the finished product. From a design standpoint, it's spot on. We originally contracted for 4 "Rockpointe" panels on the upstairs section and 2 panels for the lower section. After parts were laid out, Justin called to recommend that we only use 3 panels upstairs (fit space better). We also changed to only 1 panel downstairs. Little delay with the design change, but that is to be expected. The railing itself is sturdy and well construted. After install, we noticed that the single handrail along the wall was bumpy compared to the other two sections. We worked with Justin to have someone come back out to the house and sand/re-paint the handrail. Now it's smooth to the touch like the other 2 sections. I like that they worked with us until we felt satisfied with the product. My only negative is to be watchful for the installation. As they were screwing in nuts & bolts, some went in slightly crooked so that they didn't sit entirely flush against the wall. My husband commented on this, and they said they would go back and fix it, but did not. It does not bother me and the average viewer will not notice, but if you are OCD, then be watchful. Overall, positive experience though.
Description of Work: Had a custom wrought iron railing manufactured and installed for an interior staircase. Parts included a single handrail along the wall, and 2 custom railing panels (lower section of staircase was about 4ft long, upstairs section was about 10ft span). I found the pattern on their website ("the Rockpointe") and we worked with Justin to have that design fit our space. Contracted price was $2850, then $200 in tips. Took 2 men about 3.5hrs to install the railing.

They did a good job of matching colors and texture. It looks great. They also matched the architecture of the back yard. They spend a lot of time analyzing what needs to be done. It was a great experience from start to finish. The only negative was that when they installed the third anchor point it moved one of the stones on the patio, but it was nothing to mention. I am going to use them again.
Description of Work: They put in railing on my rear stoop.
