DB's Plumbing & Drain

I came home from work to find our 40-gallon water heater was not working (it was working that morning). The pilot was out and I could not get it re-lit (I do know how to light a pilot) After checking a number of companies on Angie's List, I contacted DB's Plumbing and Drain. Although it was almost 6pm, a very nice person answered the phone and I explained my dilemma. I was told they could send someone that night but would have to charge an after-hours rate. I was reasonably certain what was wrong would not be a simple fix like re-lighting a pilot so scheduled a visit for the following morning between 10 am and 12 noon. Michael D arrived shortly after 10 am. He was very courteous, polite and professional. Before entering my home, he donned a pair of shoe covers which was kept on as long as he was in the house. He diagnosed the problem as being a failed main burner system. As the water heater was 14-years-old, I weighed the cost of replacing just the main burner system on such an old unit against replacing the unit itself. I opted for the water heater replacement. Michael setup the old unit to drain while he went to retrieve the new one from their warehouse which took him about 45 minutes. Upon his return, he removed the old unit and cleaned up the area. He then cut back the existing copper lines to eliminate the numerous soldered couplings from the previous homeowner's repairs. He installed new copper pipes including a new quarter turn shut-off valve. A catch pan was placed and the water heater setup in it. Up reconnecting the gas line, he installed a sediment trap or drip leg (it did not have one previously) which catches sediment sometimes present in natural gas. After bringing the system online, Michael checked the gas line connections for leaks using a detection monitor. The installation was clean and neat and it is obvious Michael is conscientious about his work. Always interested in how things in my home work, Michael was very gracious in answering my questions regarding the installation. I am very happy with the install.and would like to thank Michael for his professionalism and the education.

I can't recommend DB's plumbing highly enough. Our garbage disposal stopped working. We know absolutely nothing about garbage disposals and thought we needed a new one (a lot of $$$ in the post-holiday season when we are trying to budget). But Chris, the plumber, got the old one working again. He could easily have said, "Yup, you need a new one." Instead, he was honest to a fault. Can't say enough good things about this company and we will use them again. The office was also really courteous and easy to work with .

Price was horrendous Home Depot charges 120.00 They tried to charge me $330.00 HORRIBLE

Excellent communication via text and email so you know exactly when your service technician will arrive. Tommy and Duncan were very polite and professional. They looked over the main water shutoff valve that I wanted to replace and then explained what they were going to do and how much it would cost. Completed the work promptly and cleaned up the work site before leaving. I would highly recommend DB's Plumbing and Drain!!

Tommy B was efficient and courteous. I knew who to expect since I got the name and a photo of the plumber in a text. He covered his shoes upon entering the home. He gave the price for parts and labor upfront. He replaced my old sump pump with a new Zoeller Sump pump. As he was working he patiently answered my questions. He cleaned the work area thoroughly. Excellent job.

Friendly, courteous and professional! Shane did a fabulous job of inspecting a basement drain and inspecting the drain line to the sewer. Very pleased with the service and highly recommend DB's Plumbing and Drain.

Luckily, I was able to get same day service and even luckier, they sent Shane D., who was very professional and knowledgeable. Some of his jokes could use a little bit of work but his plumbing skills were undeniably top notch. I don't want to get my hopes up but I may have found my goto plumbing company.

They were great and excellent. They have shown up on time, they were professional, courteous, honest and knowledgeable. They did an excellent job and I would highly recommend them.

We just had a new refrigerator delivered and water continued to leak. We had thought that it was the old refrigerator that the water was leaking from but it persisted even after my husband turned off all the water in the house. and he had to put an endless array of towels to sop up the water oozingt out.I telphoned DB's Plumbing and Drain at approximately 1:30 pm and was told that the plumber would arrive between 2 and 4. Shane arrived around 3 pm. (This in itself was remarkable as we have been waiting for deliveries of appliances and no one ever arrived during their stated range of hours or even the same day.) Shane was friendly and professional. He immediately told us that he knew what the problem was as he has seen it numerous times. The plastic had worn out and there was a breakdown on the line, He replaced the plastic pipe with copper.

Excellent Shane the plumber was so nice that I requested him for my second job on Monday. He is a great plumber and knows his job. Cleans up after and explained every detail before starting. I will ask for him again! 10 + stars

Fantastic. Technician arrived on time, listened to the problem, examined the pump, explained what was wrong, discussed the options clearly and provided and estimate for my choice. The work was professionally done. The technician took great pride in his work, and the installation looks perfect and it works well as expected. The price was less than we paid for the same product and service 8 years ago. I have never met a more professional, competent, and knowledgeable plumber. What a positive experience!!!

Excellent customer service and top notch plumbing repairs. Shane, the plumber, was professional and thorough. He arrived on time, slipped on shoe covers to protect our floors, evaluated each job, explained the needed repairs, presented the costs, and got to work. He also took photos of each job (before, during and after) to track the progress. The photos were sent to us for our records. While the kitchen sink repair seemed complete before he left our home, we discovered a small drip when running the dishwasher that evening. Rachel, the office manager, immediately scheduled a new appointment and Shane resolved the problem. DBs Plumbing and Drain is our #1 choice for plumbing repairs.

This is the second time I've hired DB's Plumbing & Drain and I continue to be very happy with them. This time, there were two problems: A main sump pump that had died and a backup sump pump I had connected with flexible tubing which began springing pinhole leaks within months and spraying water all over the room. DB's swapped the dead pump with a spare I had on-hand and reattached the backup pump to the outflow pipe with standard PVC piping. They also joined both pumps to the main pump's larger outflow pipe with a Y-junction which should improve the backup's rate of flow. While they were at it, they replaced the check valves and disposed of a lot of rusty nails and junk that had been swept into the sump pit over the years. All told it only took 2 hours and now everything is quieter, no water spraying around and I have peace of mind that the place isn't going to flood in the next winter storm.

I found my experience working with DB's very positive. They were responsive in getting me scheduled and worked hard to meet my needs to get a backup when they were experiencing limited supply. Tommy was extremely professional during the install, answering all of my questions and provided a detailed overview of the work that he did. Having a backup is something I needed to do for a long time, and I'm glad to have used DB's to complete the work. I will definitely use them again in the future for other plumbing needs.

My sump pump was starting to fail. Shane was able to confirm the problem and replace the sump pump. From initial call to replacement was one day. Excellent service! After work was complete, everything was cleaned up. Overall, professional service and efficient billing/invoicing/etc. I highly recommend DB. This is the second time I have used DB and both times have been great.

Shane was very professional and just a really nice guy. He stayed into the wee hours to complete our job, because we explained the circumstances around needing the work to be done in a short time frame. Shane explained all options to us and did not pressure us for extra work. From what we can see, the work was done well. We will be calling Shane back for additional kitchen work in the future.

This began badly at first for Shane my technician. After being advised he was on his way, I was called by Jackie that he was caught in traffic and later learned it closed down 5 lanes of I 495. Even then he arrived within my two hour window. Both my kitchen drains were thoughly clogged. Shane was able to unclog both drains and install a new garbage disposal. One of the best experiences I have had with a plumber. Shane even laughed at my bad jokes. My experience with Shane and Jackie was wonderful and I will not hesitate to use DB's Plumbing and Drain again.

Shane was timely, professional and thorough in his work. He was able to diagnose and prescribe a solution. Shane completed the work (on the same day) within 1 1/2 hours. I was extremely pleased with the service I received from DB's Plumbing and will put them on speed dial for all my plumbing needs.

Tommy was professional and knowledgeable. He arrived at both appointments on time and got the valve and water heater replaced quickly. I would highly recommend them. I comparison shopped two other plumbing companies during the day and DB's was the best in knowledge and price.

Zack came out within a couple hours of my call. He saw the problem was in the main line and cleared it in just a couple of minutes after he found the main line clogged. Zack was extremely nice and polite. He check the main line after clearing it with a camera and showed that the line was clear. Zack knew what he was doing and did all he could to protect our property from any more water damage. If I every have another problem I would call Zack. He is GREAT!
