I needed to replace my storm & entry door on the front of my house. I went on Angie's List to find someone to do the work for me. I decided to contact Consumer Construction. On 8/19/10, I went to their website and filled out a request for a free estimate. Thirty minutes later, Mark Mohay called me. I was available that morning, so he came out to give me an estimate. He had a laptop that had a software program that allowed me to see exactly what items were available for me to choose from. After choosing, I was able to see a picture of exactly how my entry door and storm door would look. Mark printed this out for me with the total cost. The cost was a little more than what I had wanted to spend, but I decided to go ahead and place the order. Mark told me it would take approx. 3 weeks for the door to be ready. On 8/30/10, I received a call from Luke Mitchell stating that he would like to set up an installation on 9/13/10 at 7:00 am. On 9/13/10, he arrived at 7:00 am and started removing the old doors and frame, and installing the new frame. Later on, some other men arrived to help install the entry & storm doors. I believe they finished around 2:00 that afternoon. They cleaned up everything and took the old doors & old frame away. Mark came by to check on the progress during the installation. He also came back later that afternoon to make sure that everything was installed to my satisfaction. My new door is absolutely beautiful. I am very pleased with the way it looks. In fact, it looks just like the picture that Mark had printed for me on the day he gave me the estimate. Everyone was very nice and professional. The workmanship is exceptional. I would definitely use Consumer Construction again.

The contractor arrived on time, was very courteous and professional. Completed the job and explained in detail the work that was done. Price was very fair. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a follow-up call also from the company the next day, to see how everything went. We will definitely use their services again in the future, if needed, and also recommend them to our friends.

I used this company in 2002 and was very impressed (roof replacement & wrapped window frames). We moved from the area and returned to a city closer to D.C. in 2008. When I realized there was a roof leak, I immediately thought of Consumer Construction because of their superior craftsmanship and professionalism 8 years earlier. My wife called to determine if the owners and managers were the same....they were so we contracted them. The service was even better than I expected. Julia (I believe that was her name) asked all the right questions - probing to ensure all my issues were covered...she was very knowledgeable and service focused. The repair guy (Hector) came out just 3 days later, and he arrived a few minutes early (a blessing). We have a three story townhome (very high roof - we have vaulted ceilings) - yet Hector was able to negotiate getting on top with no problem. He knocked out the entire job in about an hour - did everything we asked. Instead of using pitch/tar to fill the holes left from the satellite dish mount, he replaced the shingles. I'm very happy with Consumer Construction. When the roof was originally put on in 2003, the builder used the wrong nails for the ridge vent. I told my neighbors about Consumer Construction...one neighbor immediately called them to inspect their roof - the neighbor was as happy with Consumer Construction as I was. Great guys, and best of all, the price was about 1/2 of what it would have been otherwise (another neighbor, using a different contractor, had the ridge vent re-attached (and no other work) and paid what I did (and I had a lot more more accomplished)). CC is tops in my book- I'm going to have them put gutter guards on and paint all my facial board within the next few months.

Needed to have them return to add ventilation in soffits. Otherwise they did a good job.

I knew them before Angie's List. They did an excellent job. The owner came out and explained everything that he was doing and he stayed right there with the workmen until the work was done. They spent a lot of time with me working on the right size gutters and the gutter covers. I was pleased with their work. I used them 4 years ago but they are still in business because I called them recently. I am very happy and I will call them again. Originally their responsiveness was good and then when I needed to call them back for something I have had to call them a couple of times.

I had used Consumer Construction twice in the past to replace my roof and siding and encountered the owner Mark Mitchell one day when he was on my street. We discussed what I wanted done and he provided a written estimate of what the cost would be and made two specific recommendations on what to do with my existing wood architectural dental trim over the front door and a problem downspout I had next to the chimney on my home. After providing the written estimate I had to go out of town for an extended period and Mr. Mitchell held doing the work, at my request, until I was back home and then scheduled it. The trim crew showed up on the scheduled date and an excellent job of removing the existing gutter and downspouts and installing the vinyl material in the necessary areas. When they left they cleaned up all of the debris and associated nails to the point that other than seeing that the work had been done you would not have known that the crew had done their work. The crew leader advised my wife of what they had done and that the gutter crew would be out in two to three days. The gutter crew showed up on the scheduled day and in less that three hours installed the new gutter and downspouts, once again cleaning up after their work was finished. One thing that I believe shows how responsible Mr. Mitchell is is that fact that on the first day one of my window screens was inadvertantly damaged and he saw to it that not only that screen, but the window screen on the window next to the damaged one were repaired to my satisfaction. He was upfront about damaging the screen and what he was going to do to fix it. Another thing is the fact that either Mr. Mitchell or his son have called me to keep me abreast of what was going on with my project and what I should expect. I am once again pleased with the work his firm has done.

Courteous, considerate, cooperative and on-time! All estimates and proposals included in-depth explanations about the types of materials that are used, detailed descriptions about the work to be performed, and if additional work might be necessary. All employees arrived on-time the day scheduled, to include sub-contractors. Excellent customer service from the proposal to the completion of the job. Very reasonably priced for the large amount of work that was done.

The person that initially came out to talk to me was straightforward. He was able to answer all my questions and he also gave me some helpful insights. The crew did a pretty good job. I ran into a problem with the work afterwards but thankfully they fixed it at no cost. I was impressed by their professionalism. I feel like their prices were competitive.

The company representative made several trips to help in the selection of which color and type of shingles to use. The workers performed an excellent job. After the job was completed the company representative and I inspected the work together. It was determined that 2 more sheets of plywood should be replaced due to waves in the roof. The workers came out the next day and replaced the 2 sheets of plywood and shingles. The only cost was the 2 sheets of plywood. The company representative was friendly and answered all our questions.
