We have been long time customers of Briggs. Scheduled maintenance and filter replacement goes smoothly and efficiently. They call and schedule a day and time, always show up in the window or call if there is a change. This last time they had the wrong filter with them, they offered to come back in 2/3 days or to have it shipped directly to us so we could replace. It went smoothly and all was taken care of! Would highly recommend!

Briggs Heating and Cooling has been our go to provider since we renovated our home in 2005. They are experienced, supremely responsive and personable professionals who truly care about their customers. They go out of their way to get it right. We have trusted them so much that we introduced them to my elderly parents’ home years ago. My parents have adopted them ever since. We have had several projects this year alone, some routine maintenance, some much more complicated. Each project was handled the same way. First, my parents have an old AC and “Trevor’s guys” come out every year to service it. Their gas heater required a new switch which, because it was an old unit, took a lot of effort to find and replace. Next, our newer AC had a valve malfunction, and Briggs’ went way out of their way to properly diagnose the problem. As a precaution, we received a second opinion. Not only did Briggs’ diagnose the problem properly, they fixed it at about a quarter of the cost that the other service provider would have charged. Most recently, a couple of weeks ago, a leak was detected in my parents’ newly installed gas fireplace logs which Briggs had not installed. They met me at my parents’s home within an hour and had it repaired in another hour. And their prices are always extremely reasonable. This is small business done right. In northern Virginia, they are a breath of fresh air.

These guys are awesome! The outside part of my HVAC system was completely bombed. All it would do was make clunking noises when the system tried to fire up. Briggs showed up and figured out the issue. They were able to coordinate and get parts on the same day, and get my system back up and running. These guys are amazing, I wouldn't call anyone else.

They came 11/24/2020 for service. Took $149.00 check. written in the Invoice that everything is working correctly and only needs to change to wall switch. Technician did not have work truck, It was with Repair shop. Told me to buy and just change it. I did and it works same day but next day it was not working. I called them on 11/25/2020. They told me due to Holidays, Will send some one on Monday ( 11/30/2020). No call from them on Monday, I call again, The operator told me let me call my Manager/Owner and call you back. She call me back within 10 min and told they told her that They are not responsible to do anything anymore. As long as it was working when tech was there and after that its not their responsibility. This company also part of the "Sixpenny Chimney Sweeps" I talked to the owner first this matter . She also now not pick up the phone. So I do not recommand anyone to use both company for any service. They took the money and did not taking care the customer. Home advisor refer both company for me now they also took out their name from their List. By the way, In their Invoice clearly written that they are providing 60 day warranty for the parts and labor. Hopefully customer like me never use both company again.

Mathian did a great job repairing my a/c unit recently. He arrived when he told me he would and I was expecting a much higher bill and was pleasantly surprised how reasonable the price was. Thanks!

They were able to fix it.

I had the company come and do a diagnosis on the boiler for my baseboard heating system. The problem was intermitted failure to heat. Two people showed up about 2 hours later than the indicated time window. One of them was clearly an apprentice because all he did was watch. The other person did not manage to reproduce the problem or find a precise diagnosis but he did manage to do something to make the boiler not function at all. After about one hour of fumbling around he ended up calling the prior owner who apparently was the person at this firm specializing in boilers. After that call he managed to get the boiler back to the state it was before. The visit ended up with him saying that the culprit was likely the controller. He didn't know for sure and he didn't know what the replacement cost was since he was more familiar with forced air furnaces. I was charged $10 more than the service fee indicated over the phone by the lady taking the reservation; the reason for the increase was apparently the fact that she was new and didn't know the actual pricing. They promised that someone is going to contact me with an actual quote for replacing the controller. It's been 3 weeks and no one quote was provided. The two service people were polite and pleasant, but not punctual, knowledgeable and they didn't follow up on something that was supposed to be part of the service. I would not recommend this firm for servicing boilers - seems like their expertise in this area vanished when the old owner sold the firm.

Great -- they call to set up the appointment, talk to me to choose a good time for both of us, call to say they're on their way. Very thorough, they answer all our questions regarding our furnace, AC, humidifier, everything. We had them install the whole thing for us back in 2007.

Trevor and his team are top notch. From the time we met to review our project to completion he was very responsive. The day of installation the crew showed up at approx., 8:30 a.m. and it was a HOT day, we anticipated a two day install, but because it was hot the crew stayed until almost 8:00 p.m. that night to complete the entire installation. I have already recommended Trevor to a co-worker who has used him also. You can't go wrong with Trevor and his team they are all top notch and professional.

All went well. Briggs sent a very nice, polite, efficient and knowledgeable servicer. He needed to replace a part and checked with me about the price and explained clearly the need for the replacement.

I called the day before a heat wave was due to hit the DC area when my air conditioning was not working. Trevor Briggs came that day to our home and diagnosed the problem to be a faulty fan motor. Our air conditioning unit is old, more than 18 years, nd he easily could have told us we needed something more. He also gave us advice on what we should be thinking in terms of future replacement.
