Description of Work: We have used the same heating and air conditioning company for close to 8 years. When my second AC unit failed, it took 4 days for them to schedule an appointment. He said he fixed the leak, added refrigerant, replaced the thermostat on the other unit, and was on his way after we spent $677. The same unit failed again after less than two weeks, and it took another 4 days for them to come out. The second technician said it was a different leak inside the house, added refrigerant, and proceeded to point out that I need to replace the coil (over $2,000), or coil and outside AC unit (over $4,600), and/or the entire AC/furnace unit (over $7,400.) The old company cannot meet our needs (not enough tech's in the field) and gave me a ridiculous bid. I then researched Angie's List, found Brennan's, and they set up an appointment for the next day. The Brennan's bid came in at $4,805 for the exact same unit (coil, outside AC AND new furnace.) Mike Brennan knew what he was talking about, pointed out that the 18-year-old furnace would go soon enough, and gave me a far more reasonable price. The Brennan installers came out the following day, installed an entire new AC/furnace system, cleaned up very well and were done in 4 hours. We received better service, a reasonable cost (same price for all new equipment, as opposed to the price for replacing two parts of it), and a service contract on both units. When we find a contractor who does not try to gouge consumers and provides excellent service, we stick with them and recommend them to friends and neighbors. Brennan's is at the top of our list and we will call only them.

Description of Work: For the second year, our two-year-old heat pump (from a different company) refused to cool our house. We called Brennan's instead of the company that sold it to us. We had a great experience with Brennan's. They explained their pricing at the time we made the appointment. They called us with the serviceman's name shortly before he arrived, which was early within the time window they had given us. He diagnosed and replaced two blown fuses and then found that the unit was 10 pounds short on coolant. Brennan's is honest. Rather than performing a $1000 + repair, the repairman asked how old the unit was and recommended we contact the company that sold us the still-under warranty heat pump. The installing company immediately promised us a serviceman within the next two hours. We'll see how that goes and report back.
