Description of Work: I had been using Baker's to do plumbing and electrical repairs when I took possession of house after moving back into the area. I also purchased a new hot water heater, new heat pump and new air conditioner. In 2010 I contracted with Baker's to remodel my outdated kitchen, foyer bath, family room bath and laundry room area. I had to buy custom cabintry for the kitchen, which was a significant cost. I have no significant or major complaint, as I think overall the Baker employees did a fairly good job. However, as the kitchen ages, it begins to show signs of a job that might have been hurried or too much of a burden for just one man. I have not been totally pleased with the kitchen floor as the seams inbetween the tiles have continued to crack (I did have Baker's return to repair the damage, but to little avail). Additionally the cabinets have warped in small sections and I have no way of retrieving items which have fallen backwards from drawers. I have no major complaints about Baker's but if I had it to do over, I don't know if I would have used Baker's as a home remodeler. I do however think that they have individual employees who are very skilled at what they do.

 + -1 moreIt went very well. My old clothes dryer (bought it used 12 years ago) was acting up and frequently not starting at all. I asked Baker's to try to diagnose it over the phone and give me an idea whether it would be worth it to repair. A technician called me back within the hour, listened to my description of what was going on, asked me some questions and told me what was wrong with it and that I'd be better off buying a new one. I appreciated their fast, courteous, professional, honest response, all free of charge!
Description of Work: Baker's gave me advice on what was wrong with my clothes dryer and whether it would be worth it to have it repaired.

 + -1 moreThere was a lot of confusion at first with customer service/scheduling. I won't go into detail, but Mr. Baker called to follow up and the communication was much appreciated. It's been a while since he's been out; I forgot the technician's name! He was kind and it felt almost like having my dad come over; he explained the issue and was knowledgeable about our fridge and gave me a few options on fixing it. *it was just a frozen water line! I think Baker's is honest, sincere, and competent about small appliances - we would use them again dispite the communication issues we had...which reminds me - the dryer vent/chimney inspection promised never happend...

 + -1 moreOur Kenmore Front-loading washer was making very very loud noises and we called Baker's for repair. The gentleman who came out was very professional and knew his stuff. He quickly confirmed the problem was the bearings and let us know that a complete repair would involve replacing the drum -- because the ball-bearings and drum are a fused unit -- and that the cost would be very high. He did not have a price, but said that the office would call and give us one. (We don't really expect to hear from them.) He graciously removed the dead mouse we found and checked out the water pump because he said that it sounded a little noisier than it should. He reported after disassembling and reassembling that it looked fine. I thought the charge was extremely reasonable considering the time he spent talking to me about washing machines in general, and ours in particular. The only problem we had was with the front office. They had said that someone would be out 'first thing' and in fact we had to call after lunch to see where our repair person was. We got the impression that they scrambled to find someone to send out. Not first-rate service but they did quickly rectify the problem. Overall::: I will definitely call them again. I was very impressed with the service person who came out.

 + 0 moreSee above. I did contact management and no one would take responsibility or give me a refund. In addition, I had a $3,500 refrigerator installed and it made noises for weeks. My son fixed it by balancing it. They charged me for the installation but never lowered the fee and adjusted it.
Description of Work: I purchased a two drawer dishwasher and they gave me a price for installation. They brought it out and said I needed an outlet for this dishwasher (didn't they know that before). Then they called their electrician/plumber to come out. He drove to my house in 10 minutes and they charged me an additional $250 to hook it up. They did not tell me this when I bought it that it would cost me $400 to install an $800 dishwasher.
