ANCHOR DECKS & POOLS

This is the worst contractor experience I have ever had. Fred has scheduled to come on literally dozens of occasions, and then just didn't show up, with no call or explanation. After hunting him down each time, he always has some excuse or story. He is continually late, and does not finish his work. He has not responded to two warranty requests for repairs on items he has already defectively installed, and has been unresponsive for a month when trying to contact him to come back to finish the job. This project started in 2013. Work was stopped for a few months because the previous owners had to move, and put the house up for sale. Work began again in June 2014 with only re-skimming the vermiculite, installation of the liner, and installation of the equipment and accessories left to complete. Fred said it would be 3-5 days of work. Now it is end of September / beginning of October and the work is not complete. He has been out only 3-4 days since June, and in fairness there is probably only 1-2 days of work left to do. He just won't come and do it. Fred finished installation of the liner a month ago, but never returned the next day to finish the installation / pool indoctrination: 1. He did not complete the installation of the LED light in the deep end of the pool. Instead, he left the liner attached in the hole where the light should go, and the liner is now stretching and tearing, and a leak is developing under the liner. 2. He has not installed the two safety ladder / rails. 3. He has not installed the vacuum system. 4. He has not installed the salt-water chlorinator. 5. He did not clear out the lines from the surface-skimmer to the pumps prior to installation of the pumps and filling of the pool. Now the skimmer does not work, and is clogged with mud and dirt in the lines under the pool. 6. There has been a steady leak at the main pump ever since installation that soaks the yard. Unfortunately, Fred has already been paid for all but about $800 of the work. He is very "responsive" when collecting money, but completely unresponsive in actually performing the work he has been paid for. The only response I have received from Fred in over a month is "I'll call you tomorrow." -- which of course he never has. I always prefer to use local small businesses and support the local guy when possible, but this is the exception. Do yourself a favor and skip this guy. Also beware he has done business as Anchor Decks and Pools, Anchor Enterprises, but then asked for payment to be to Oliver Cundy. But Fred Cundy, Oliver Cundy, Anchor Decks and Pools and Anchor Enterprises are all the same person/business.

Hired them to put an in ground pool. They were supposed to start at the beginning of June and because of weather they didn't start until August. They put a hole in my yard and left it for weeks. When they returned they prepared for cement, then did not return for 4 weeks. After 8 weeks we finally had the pool decking poured, however we are still waiting to get the bottom of the pool in. I definitely would not recommend using these guys. They are now operating under Anchor Enterprises with Fred (Oliver) Cundy running the business. They don't show up when they are supposed to. They don't respond to fix problems as requested.
