Description of Work: First, I purchased an Angie's List deal for $1225 for 200 feet of 6-inch high-capacity gutters and downspouts. I ordered them in a color to match the trim on my house for no extra cost. The old ones were white. It's amazing how much this simple change improved the overall look of the house. | |I also ordered gutter covers for an extra $925. (There were three gutter cover options: the gutter helmet for $1200; the heavy duty cover with circular holes for $925; and a light weight net-type cover attached with zip screws for $355.) These covers replaced old, rusted netting that was no longer working and needed to be removed anyway. | |The new gutters and downspouts replaced a 40 year-old system original to the house. I am very pleased with them. Before, during a heavy rainstorm, the old gutters would often be overwhelmed with the volume of water, resulting in a Niagara Falls effect over, and sometimes under, them. We've had a lot of rain over the last couple of weeks and the new gutters have handled it without any overflow whatsoever. | |Finally, I had a hole some critter had made in the siding repaired for $450. | |I would definitely hire this company again. Everyone -- from Chris in the office, to Larry the estimator and siding repair guy, to the gutter crew -- were punctual, courteous, and professional.

+ -1 moreAffordable Quality did a really nice job on our ridge vent. They added the ridge vent to our existing roof warranty, which was a big selling point for us. The crew was very professional. They did a good job cleaning up. The ridge vent matched the existing roof perfectly and seems to be working well in the attic. I would recommend them.
Description of Work: Affordable Quality installed a ridge vent on our existing roof. Affordable Quality had installed a new roof on our house before we purchased the house, but the previous owner didn't have them install the ridge vent. We wanted better air circulation in our attic, so we had them come back to install a ridge vent.

+ -1 moreAfter a huge destructive storm here in NOVA we came home and found a GIANT tree had fallen on our home, taking out an entire 1/4 of our roof, and alot more. Being new to the area I had no idea who to call. I went to Angies List and the phone book and proceeded to call what seems like every roofer and contractor in the area.Everyone told me they could send someone out in 2-3 days. Our house was completely exposed to the elements and more heavy rains were in the forecast! I callled Affordable Quality and they sent a man right over. Honestly do not remeber his name but super nice and very professional. He did the tarping, took pictures and lots of notes to prepare an estimate for the repairs. Turns out there was more structural damage then first realized which was discovered thru his pictures back at his office. They called me and told me I would need an engineer and more for the project, a job that was bigger than theyre company dealt with. They actually gave me the names of other companies to call!! I am so pleased with their honesty and professionalism. My husband and I know nothing about construction and it would have been very easy for them to scam us for big money with half assed repairs. Will se them if ever needed in future and recommend to others

+ 0 moreAffordable was recommended by a home contractor I had conferred with. They were prompt in coming out to the house to give an estimate and returned promptly to do the job. They replaced the pipe collars and had done the air blow for the superficial debris on the gutters. There still is some debris of light branches on the surface gutters on one side of the roof. I asked if the metal trim on the garage roof could be nailed down and 90% was graciously done at my additional request. There still is one little section that for some reason was not nailed down. Overall, I am very pleased with the job completed, the professionalism and pricing given.
Description of Work: I had 2 pipe collars w/flashing replaced; the metal trim on the garage roof nailed down and light debris on the surface of the gutters blown off.

+ -1 moreThey installed a new roof a couple of years ago. In my house we have a flat roof over the garage and a flat roof over one of my bedrooms. A few years ago we also had a total of six feet of snow over the winter. Flat roofs do not drain and I was worried about the roof collapsing, so I called Affordable and asked them if they would shovel snow off. They said they would and so I put in a request for them to come out. They also said that if there was anybody in the neighborhood that needed to get their roof shoveled, that they should contact the office and that they would come out on whatever day it was and do the shoveling, so I did that and I got a discount. They came out here with a big crew and did a number of roofs and that made everyone feel a whole lot better. They prices were better than those I got from anyone else. I rate them highly and will use them again in the future if needed.

+ 0 moreI selected Affordable Quality, Inc. from the Internet. They were the most prompt company to respond and gave me the earliest date to come out and give me a free estimate. I had scheduled two additional companies to give me estimates also, but it was several days before they could come out and I was in a hurry because we are scheduled to have the house power washed and I wanted the siding repaired first. The company representative came out within 24 hours and was prompt, courteous and gave me a written estimate. I was impressed with the presentation and pleased with the price so we decided to go with Affordable Quality rather than waiting on 2 or 3 more companies to come out for such a small repair. They arrived right on time and the repair was well done. I will use this company again if the need arises.
Description of Work: Aluminum siding had pulled away from the corner of the house, exposing the underside of 4 to 5 pieces of siding. This was a small job and did not take that long to repair. However, I was very pleased with the professionalism and knowledge the repairer displayed. He explained what had happened (when the siding was installed no nails were used to secure the siding). He completed the repair in 10 to 15 minutes and I was pleased with the end job.

With my approval they fixed it on the spot. I had previously had two estimates from other companies, and neither bothered to look on the outside before giving an estimate. + -1 moreAQ was prompt in responding to our request for an estimate, and quoted us a good price. The gutter was fixed only two days after we called (which was a relief given the rainstorm that was forecast). Our previous gutter was flimsy and barely attached to the house. The new gutter AQ installed is much higher quality and well secured. They left our yard spotless, hauling away our old damaged gutter. Though we were a very small job, they treated us like a priority. Only hitch was a minor address error that delayed our receipt of the bill, but it only took a quick phone call to fix it. Would use AQ again.

+ -1 moreThe screens were never re-screened after three attempts we ended up with bent up screen frames. On each call to report the problem, we were given a hard time, their Customer Service Representative took a defensive and argumentative tone. While renovating my deck, I found that the flashing that had covered the joyce end cap 2 x 10 had been removed when they replaced the siding and was not replaced. The wood is rotted. When I reported this to the Customer Service Representative, she became defensive, saying it is out of warranty. After 2 days, they have not called me back. VERY poor customer service representative on their end, argumentative, non-cooperative, defensive when I called to report the problem. Very poor workmanship that has seriously damaged my home. The repair cost will probably exceed the original cost of the siding.
Description of Work: After the 1999 hail storm, this company replaced my siding. They responded well and took care of everything in a professional fashion. They were also to re-screen our windows as the screen were also damaged by the hail.
