A1 Tree Service/Allen's Tree Service

We contracted them to remove three trees, leave mulch in pile/haul all wood/and fine clean up, grind two stumps and major roots for a total of 1050.00. When Pat came out to do the trees he told us to write the check for 800.00 to him and a different check for 250 for the sub contractor Ricky Kulp, he hired to grind the two stumps and major roots from two maple trees. One of the trees was over the utility lines so it could not be ground down, which was understandable. But the other stump is in an area where we are trying to grow grass. We had to pay $250 again to have someone else come and grind the stump and the roots in that area. Pat calls the company Allen's Tree Service, but on his card it says A1 Tree Service. I gave the $800 check to Pat and the $250 check to the sub-contractor Ricky per Pat. We would like the money back from the sub-contract since he did not provide the service we paid for. Pat did a good job, but the sub-contractor Ricky, did not do the job after he was paid. Ricky left the stumps and roots under a large pile of wood mulch so we were not aware that the stumps were still there until after it was removed.

Very disappointing. Unprofessional behavior from company owner. Doesn't seem to care much for potential customers.

I set up the work on Aug 4th and paid $650 for the job up front. I called him the following Monday saying the guy with the grinder never showed, then I went on vacation. When I came back from vacation, I contacted Mr. Allen again and he said the grinder was broke. I have called him repeatedly and left several messages and have heard nothing. I would like for him to come do the work or refund my money! I have referred this gentleman to several of my friends, and he always shows up for them. Now he won't return my calls. After waiting several more weeks I had my husband call from work , he received a call that day from the estimator. But he said Allen was out of town. So I started calling him every other day, asking him to please come back and grind my stumps. It wasn't until I said I would call him every day until he ground the stumps that he showed up unannounced and did the work, that was on September 25.
