Richard was excellent in explaining everything and his estimate was right on target. Workers were prompt and courteous. Prices were very fair. Lifetime warranty is wonderful!!! We had bids up to $30K with no warranties provided.
Description of Work: Corrected wet basement due to bowing of cinder block wall. Installed steel supports approximately every 6 feet and interior drainage system. Also added a window well.

Unprofessional. The original assessment did not account for the risks the proposed project posed to the structural integrity of the house (in particular, a staircase). Thankfully, the workmen paused before starting because the work-order did not authorize all the demolition necessary to do the job. (B-Dry will demolish as needed but they do not replace what they tear-out.) When we got a better idea of all that was involved, we asked for a reassessment of the work. That started a two or three day game of phone tag. Finally, a senior person arrived and, seeing the actual situation, agreed that they might not be able to install the Blue Canyon system as originally proposed and that more demolition would be required than was originally discussed. We decided not to proceed at this time and asked for our deposit back. They refused. We then offered to split the difference and asked only for a return of half the deposit. They still refused! Very disappointing.

Wonderful, from the estimators to the workers. I saw one write up that talked about the workers not speaking English and not staying around when they should. I had none of those issues.
Description of Work: Old house, no pump in basement, leaking walls. They put in a french drain with 17 hour battery back up. They did a wonderful job great workers, great estimators, work done on time and reasonable. No more floods.

After hurricane Sandy, we have quite a bit of water in the basement and I thought, "phew, thank goodness we have that warranty". Unfortunately, after calling several times, leaving messages, and sending pictures via email, I still haven't heard back from anyone. I understand that they're busy right now and that my case is likely not the worst, but that does not excuse the organization from at least returning my call and acknowledging that I am a paying customer with a problem. It turns out that the French drain system was installed so that the water vented out into the clay in an unfinished part of our basement, instead of into the sump pump. Additionally, a piece of the apparatus is held together by duct tape. I wish I could attach pictures to this review. Also - be warned that the warranty does not cover any damage done to your home as a result of a faulty installation - it is only B-Dry's promise to fix whatever of their materials is broken. You are responsible for paying the bill on damage. You are also responsible for cleaning out any water/mud/sewage that is the result of a faulty installation. B-Dry does not do or pay for that either. Overall, I am shocked and disappointed at the shoddy system, lack of response, and misleading warranty. Look elsewhere for your waterproofing system.
Description of Work: B-Dry installed a waterproofing system in our basement with French drains in my home just before I bought it. In fact, the waterproofing system was one of the reasons why we felt comfortable buying an old home.

The sales guys scheduled to do our estimate was completely unprofessional. I had mistaken the estimate for 7:00 p.m., when the sales person called me I told him my husband wasn't far away that he ran out but I would call him to return asap. I asked him if he could wait and he said yes. I contacted my husband who rushed home and returned within 5-10 min. but by the time he got to the house the sales guy left. When I tried to call the sales guy he didn't bother picking up his phone. He didn't even have enough courtesy to give me a call back to say he had to leave or try to reschedule. Judging by this experience it is likely a good call that we decided to give our business to another company.

Everything went well! See my above comment for service performed to read about how it went from start to finish. The project took about 2 days.
Description of Work: B-Dry waterproofing of Blue Canyon located at 14872 Persistence Drive, Woodbridge, VA 22191 did the job and did it well. For starters, Richard Voigt came out to my home and was a total professional. What I mean by that, is that Mr. Voigt did not engage in scare tactics or try to pressure me into signing with B-dry the day of, or at any time. Two other companies, Aqua Guard and Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing threw out shockingly high estimates. Aqua Guard started out with 20K, went down to 13K, then down to 9k, and when I didn't call them back dropped the price down to 5K. Both Aqua Guard and Mid-Atlantic told me a story about how I had to act now because they miraculously had a work crew available since some other job fell through. It was amazing that they both used the exact same line in an attempt to pressure me into signing the contract that day. Anyway, I did not sign with either company and I'm glad that I didn't. The area where I live in Washington, DC is a flood zone and has repeatedly flooded this year. Description of B-dry's work: They dug a trench the length of one of my basement walls from front to back, installed a sump pump inside the basement with battery backup unit. They also noticed a problem with the outdoor sump and replaced it at no additional cost to make sure I would not have any other problems. The most recent thunderstorm caused major flooding in the area where I live, prompting a friend to call and ask if our basement was under water. I rushed downstairs into the basement and found everything dry as the Mojave Desert, thankfully. The actual crew that performed the labor did an excellent job. They cleaned up, protected the areas they were not working on, showed up early and kept me informed.

The estimator arrived on time and took about 1.5 hours to survey my home inside and out. He was very professional in appearance and was very knowledgeable about the products and services. He provided an estimate before he left my home. The price quoted was based on the linear feet of waterproofing system to be installed, plus any additional services I ordered. I was contacted by the scheduling department the next day. They were able to start two weeks earlier than the time the estimator and I discussed. The work crew arrived at the appointed time. The crew leader and I did a walk thru of the basement and confirmed the services to be performed. The crew then started removing the wood panels and moving the large furniture and appliances away from the walls ( I paid extra for this service). The crew then brought out the jack hammers and began to break up the concrete slab in the basement along the exterior walls. This is very noisy and dusty work. The crew covered my belongings with plastic tarp and taped it in place to protect my belongings from the dust. The crew worked for a total of three days and arrived on time each day and cleaned up after themselves each day. My calls to the company to ask questions or clarify something were responded to promptly and efficiently. I do not know how well the system will work since it hasn't rained yet. Over all my experience with this company was positive and I would recommend them to others.
Description of Work: Install "water management" system along the 4 exterior walls of the basement, remove and haul away wood panels from basement walls, move large furniture and washer/dryer, move and replace toilet. Job was 106 linear feet. Install a sump pump and well with discharge pipe and electric outlet with back up battery.

We found them to be a great company to work with. Their estimate was done well and they did not pressure us for unnecessary work. They were punctual, clean, and efficient. Their price was not the lowest, but we found them to be the best value for the money. There have been several days of heavy rain since they installed the system and we have had no problems.

They also put a water barrier sheet on the inside. All that drained into a sump pump that they had installed. The owner’s name is Kent Lundgren. He lives in my neighborhood. They provided excellent service. They did everything that they said they would. I recommend them to others all the time.
Description of Work: I used B-Dry Waterproofing for basement waterproofing. They installed a drain system on the interior, so they broke up the foundation of the basement on the inside of the structure. They installed a drainage system and drilled holes in the cinderblock wall and put support structures in so that water could drain in to the basement.

I had moisture issues in one corner of my finished basement. (It appeared the concrete blocks behind the finished wall were probably damp, but I didn't really have many external signs.) Ryan came out, looked at the problem, took measurements, and sketched me a solution. He gave me the solution and the estimated cost in writing, but didn't in any way pressure me to accept the offer on the spot, which I LOVED. I chose B-Dry for the reasonable cost and their ratings on here. The crew showed up a little early (like 20 minutes or so) and walked through with me what they were going to do. They got to work and most of the job went really smoothly. They were going to tie the sump pump into the same line that my gutters drain into, but they discovered that the line was completely clogged. They figured out a solution on the spot, talked to a manager, and quoted me a very fair price to run a new drain line. After I told them to go ahead, they finished the rest of the planned work and also installed the new drain line. The crew worked about a 12 hour day, partially because of the added work, but I really appreciated them getting the job done in one day. I would definitely hire them again if I had a similar problem.

The project was successfully completed on time. The system works very well. The work crew was professional. The company was responsive to my questions and the statement of work explained every thing in detail. The statement of work was comprehensive, and included all work, city permits and project requirements. I am very please with how the crawlspace was restored and improved my home. I am very please with every part of the project. B-Dry was very pro-active in the proposal, daily work to be completed, and follow-up. The warrenty provides assurance that they stand behind their work.
Description of Work: I have a very large crawlspace in my 70 year old house. The crawlspace was a disaster in terms of old pipes, trash and periodic water and flooding. I contacted several companies who specialize in restoration of crawlspaces. B-Dry was the most comprehensive, all inclusive, professional estimate and statement of work. The work took four days to complete. B-Dry removed all of the old pipes, trash and removed the water. They installed 170 feet of drain pipe with a sump pump, vapor barrier, dehumidifier and the Blue Canyon system. My crawlspace is now dry and the air and humidity in the crawlspace and my home have improved.

The salesperson, Kent L., was punctual and professional. He seemed very knowledgeable and wasn't a hard sell. I got several quotes and B-Dry's estimate was pretty similar to the others. Kent was patient with all my questions and very responsive. Once the contract was signed, howeverm things got a little frustrating. Kent neglected to mention that I needed to be present for the City inspection - which I found strange since I had paid them to pull the permit instead of doing it myself. At the last minute, I changed my schedule to be there. Then, after I took the time off,the project manager (James W.) called to tell me that he mistakenly didn't schedule an inspection with the City. At least he acknowledged this was his fault. After much complaining on my part, he managed to pull in a favor and get an inspector to come. All went fine with the inspection. I then asked the work crew if I needed to stay and sign anything when they finished the job. I asked several times because there their english wasn't great. The crew foreman kept saying no. Then I go to work and get a call from Frank stating that I was suposed to be there. I told him what happened and he said "I don't know who to believe. This worker speaks fine English and has worked for the company for 8 years and this has never happened before". So I said "so you are telling me that I am lying about this?" He continued to give me an attidute and imnply that I was lying - this after he messed up the entire inspection process in the first place. I liked the work crew -thought they were nice. They were prompt and pleasant and cleaned up after themselves. They could stand to have someone on the job that speaks better English though. If you hire them, please note a few things - their forms say you get two back-up batteries when you really only get one. You have to be present at the home inspection even if you pay them to pull it. Also, you have to be there at the close of the job. Although it is too early to tell if the work is high quality, I suspect it is by the amount of positive reviews here. I just think they spend too much time selling the job and not enough time helping the customer through the process. That was very, very frustrating after I had done some much homework and raised so many questions on the issues.

I am very pleased with the work B-Dry did to waterproof my basement in the fall of 2009. I waited several months to submit a review here because I wanted to see if the system really worked. I am happy to report that during the rainy fall of 2009, followed by the blizzards of 2010, my basement has remained completely dry. I think the system is great. After talking to several waterproofing companies, I concluded that I really needed to install the French drain type of system to insure that my basement would stay dry. I got bids from several companies, and B-Dry's price was in the low-to-middle end of the spectrum. I decided to go with B-Dry because of their reputation, and because I liked certain features of their system that seemed better to me than their competitors' (the special square pipe they use, the fact that they suggested installing a window-well drain, a "pool drain" for the area around the furnace, a more powerful sump pump with a lifetime warranty). B-Dry's sales rep, Ryan, was very helpful. He explained the system clearly, and patiently answered a number of followup questions that I asked him in the days after his initial visit. Unlike some waterproofing companies, he was low-key, and not at all pushy. The installation crew showed up on time, worked efficiently, and got the job done right on schedule. Installing a system like this involves using jack-hammers in the basement to break up the concrete slab around this edges; this is an inherently messy process, but the B-Dry crew did a good job of putting up plastic sheeting to keep the dust contained to the work areas. They cleaned up after themselves when they were done. The only problem with my system was that the discharge pipe from the sump pump leaked a little bit; apparently, the pipes had not been joined quite right. When I called them about it, they were extremely responsive, and sent someone out the same day to take care of it. It actually took a couple of visits to correct it, but they were diligent and responsive. Of course, it would be better had that line never leaked in the first place, but even good companies sometimes make mistakes. What I thought was impressive was the fact that the company stood behind its workmanship and promptly fixed the problem, without complaining. I recommend B-Dry, and I would use them again.
Description of Work: Installed a French drain-type of waterproofing system around all four sides of my basement, with a sump pump. This involved jack-hammering through the concrete to install pipes below the slab, which feed into a sump pit in the utility room, from which water is pumped out.

It took two days to complete the job and the work guys were prompt both days. I experienced a slight problem after the job was done and I called Jason to talk to him about it. He got back to me right away without hesitation! They sent a supervisor over the very next day to look at a little crack I was concerned with and corrected it immediately. I would definitely refer them. Working with Jason R. and B-Dry was a positive experience.
Description of Work: We got another estimate from another company before meeting with B-Dry and seriously thought about just going with the first company. But after reading wonderful reviews about B-Dry on here, we figure to postpone our trip for a few hours to meet with them. We met a wonderful representative name Jason Ruffner. He is one of those nice and thoughtful type of sales guy that never pushed his product but rather just informed us of everything we needed to know. After explaining their patent on waterproofing basements and their lifetime guarantee, we had decided even though they were a bit more expensive, we would go with them.

We had a 6'vertical and 23'horizontal crack in a foundation wall requiring stabilization. The crew of three worked very hard and efficiently for 5 long days digging inside (and outside sometimes in the cold rain). They were always polite and considerate. (Even when the tarp we mounted from the ceiling to the floor in the basement to contain the construction dust became displaced, they took the time to remount it.) The work they provided was physically difficult, time consuming, and important to the integrity of our home. After they finished, they cleaned up inside and out.

The estimator was on time and explained exactly what was needed. He took time to explain the system clearly and showed illustrations of how the system works.
