I am pleased with explanation by Frank Braxton, the Service Manager. "The average life of a sump pump is seven to ten years, but the two main factors that determine that is the head pressure (the vertical run of the discharge) and how frequently it pumps. We have known pumps to activate every half-hour to others that only operate once or twice a year. Your surrounding conditions will determine this, and since I have not seen these site conditions, it is hard to determine what would be the average life of a pump in your residence. Seven to ten is the norm per the manufacturer".
Description of Work: Two men came over to remove defective sump pump and replaced with new one.

I received quotes from 4 places. B dry quote was the lowest, the other companies were quick to match the price. I really liked that fact that they had a standard price and didn't have to haggle. I felt like I was being hustled by the other companies. They arrived on time for the job, finished it in the time the indicated and did a very good job. We are very satisfied.

They had excellent communication skills and they started and finished when they said they would. Their estimate matched the price they ended up charging. They cleaned up everything and you would never know they tore up the floor. They were very timely and respectful of our home.
Description of Work: Our basement flooded so they used a jack hammer on the floor, installed a sump pump and sump pump back up system. They also configured our window wells and put a drain out back of the basement access door. They had to lay pipe around the perimeter of the basement and the pipe was wrapped in a netted cloth. They drilled holes in the cinder blocks and put a water shield 1/2 way up the basement walls. They put gravel and concrete back down on the floor.

There were 3 windows with wells alongside the back of the house that they told me they could take care of. They put drains in these wells, and two of them did not work. They said they would come out and fix it. I thought their solution wasn't sure proof. They had a warranty that I thought was attractive that said they would fix the problem. They gave them the opportunity to fix it. I chose not to have them do so. Part of it was poor craftsmanship, the other part was a miscalculation. They were honest about saying they would redo the wells, but after having one incident with my basement getting flooded again, I said no thanks. Somehow dirt, rocks, and mud got stuck in there and water raised in through the windows.
Description of Work: They waterproofed my basement. They dug out a trench and placed a pipe in it that ran the whole length of the basement to my sump pump. They filled in the trench and smoothed out the concrete.

Jason arrived and quickly walked through a small portion of my basement. He then gave a great Multi-Media Presentation that followed with a $5,000 estimate. Jason did not look at the outside of our property for things we as homeowners should do to help control the water. B-Dry was the first of three companies to visit my home and I happy to say we did NOT use them. Steve Norwalk, from "WATERPROOFING, Inc." came to our home and did a THOROUGH job of analyzing our property and gave excellent instructions on how we could fix most of it ourselves. Some of the recommednations he suggested were: Replace our 20 year old sump pump, replace our sagging gutters, and found a hole in one of our down spouts where the seepage was, and seal a crack in our carport. NONE of these items were even looked at by the B-Dry rep. Waterproofing Inc.'s estimate was $0.00. We found a great company to replace our gutters and replaced the sump pump, grated the flower beds, and sealed the carport ourselves.

The crew was on time and was able to complete the job in one day. If the job had not been able to be completed in one day, B-Dry would have worked on Saturday to get it completed. We did have an issue when one of the crew hit our Direct TV dish and knocked it out of the satellite path. We called the company we used in the past for Direct TV work, and they were able to come out that afternoon and reposition our dish. I took the $125 charge off what we owed B-Dry, and they were fine with that. Overall, we were very satisfied and would use B-Dry again, but hopefully, we will not need to.
Description of Work: B-Dry came into our home and added new drainage and a second sump pump in our basement. A portion of the drainage was put in the unfinished part of the basement and a portion of the finished basement. B-Dry was not the lowest in price, but out of the other estimates we received, they were the ones who did the most work to alleviate our basement leaking problem.

Price was fair but think it could have been a little less (price was bumped up from on-site estimate then dropped when I asked for discount based on other estimates that were higher but not much for more work) other companies said we needed more extensive work performed. B-Dry seemed more honest about the extent needed and performed the work quickly.

The sales person forgot to put a couple items that we discussed in the contract. Re-install battery back up sump pump. Price quoted was accurate. The workers were great and courteous. They did not call when they finished working, so I did not get to check work. They did not do all the work they were contracted to do. They were a foot and a half short of the agreed length of work on two walls. They responded quickly to fix the mistake. After the storms this past weekend they responded to fix a couple spots that were not addressed by the first team of workers.

Original contact person from B-Dry was told and shown the water damage. He assessed the damage and formulated a plan of action. Work was done in one day, however when the rains came again, the same water seeped into the basement. The company sent original contact person back who told us that to fix it this time would cost another $3300. We are in the process of investigation of the company's work for us.

Everybody at B-Dry was very nice and polite - the inspector, the individuals in the office, and the work crew (2 guys). They were late in arriving because there was a crew reassignment that morning. Other than the fact that the crew asked for drinks, they did not cause too much interruption. (I had taken the day off of work since they were coming and was working on things around the house.) They worked with me on how/where I wanted the sump output routed. The guys were very flexible in this regard. At the end of it all, I was a little disappointed that no effort was put in to preventing the water from coming in the crack. They did not spray any sealant or put any cement in/over the crack. They responded quickly when I called them about the wrong address on the warranty paperwork.
Description of Work: I had a very slight crack in the corner of my town-home poured foundation. I wanted to fix it before I finished my basement. B-Dry first quoted me a higher price, but came down to $1850. They installed the B-Dry system which included corrugated plastic panels in the corner where the crack was and along the base of the wall. These panels intend to ''funnel'' any water into a new sump that B-Dry installed. To do this, they jack-hammered about 2 feet of the concrete floor along the wall and installed the drain pipe to feed it to the new sump. They routed the sump pump output (PVC piping) to a convenient location. They poured concrete back over what they did and cleaned up after themselves. I received my lifetime warrantee paperwork 2 weeks later with the wrong address 1804 instead of 1904.
