Brian, the owner is knowledgable enough, but he does not display wall mounted heaters in his small show room. I had to pick-out the unit from a catalog. The unit was delivered to his showroom in a timely manner, and he did give me some instruction on how to mount the unit (he charged $600. to install which could be worth it if you make alot of money, for me this sum represents almost a weeks worth of take-home wages). When i called back to ask for advice, my call was never returned, though I did figure out the problem. There was no follow-up on his part. The biggest part of the experience was not being able to examine the unit before purchase. The EMPIRE Heater that I purchased is cheaply made and only 66% efficient (my fault for not researching it!) The large part of my dissatisfaction is with the unit. My advice is to find a dealer who has the demo model in his showroom. Incidentally, the more expensive model (Rinnai) was not featured in his showroom either.

Simply research-shopping a propane fireplace insert. Owner very helpful and quick to work up a number even though I was not really a buyer. I like the Mendota product line and liked the price offered on the base-product. Did not think my upgrades and add-ons were over priced. In Frederick / Clarke Co. Or Winchester area be sure to visit these folks as you are making your plans for a fireplace - new or insert.

I liked how The Gas Store Inc. scheduled the visit. Everything was done in an efficient, timely fashion. And then, when the man came to install, he was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of hints about what we should do and what we shouldn't do, because we have never operated a gas log set before. He also gave us advice about getting a gas tank and some things we should look for, if we do that.

Brian and Nora worked with my order for two gas fireplace insert systems, one a Lennox, the other a Mendota. It was quite difficult or us to figure out what we wanted and how the fireplace spaces in our old house would need to be prepared. Knowing the difficulty of the job, Brian recommended I get an expert, a friend of his, to look at the situation. This person came by and helped tremendously without charge. (He was from Frederick Block in Winchester.) Nora and Brian worked very closely with my wife and me to pick the right stoves, to get the stoves in and installed in a timely manner, even though it was just before Xmas, and an especially busy period for them. The installation included chimney work, gas hook-up, and stove and remote adjustment. Brian did the work quickly - one day - and absolutely flawlessly in terms of both appearance and performance. We are into the second season now, and we have had simply no problems. In the meantime, Nora and Brian have been quick to answer any questions. It turned out we were missing a maintenance part. This was swiftly replaced without cost or hassle. I consider this incident to be the icing on the cake, so to speak. Brian and Nora are a professional, top quality team, and we feel their prices are absolutely fair. We looked at other suppliers for this work, but none came close to making the same impression Gas Store, Inc., made. Were we to need further work of any kind that they do, we would go straight back to them.

We talked to several establishments about the need for the vented gas inserts. Nora was clearly the most helpful. I had a long conversation with Brian about the technicalities and difficulties involved. He recommended I check with a contact of his at Frederick Stone. I did that, and again, thanks to that contact, felt we would be able to proceed. Nora and Brian went out of their way to try to get our work done as soon as possible so we could move into the house we had already purchased. Brian completed all the work on the day promised. He was efficient and friendly. As it turned out, fireplace doors we had ordered were not the correct ones. However, we found that we really didn't want or need those doors, so we just cancelled that part of the order and saved several hundred dollars. Brian and Nora did not quibble with this, and it really worked to our advantage. They were also cooperative in working out the payment schedule. I trust these folks!
