Picture Perfect Landscape Lawn and Tree Service

My wife arranged this, and when I asked about the contract to my surprise she said there was no contract, just a verbal agreement and an estimate of $5700 - $6300. That surprised me. They began very punctually but instead of working for a few days straight the work dragged on for several weeks, with me never knowing when they would show up and when I would have access to my sidewalk and porch (and mailbox) or when it would be roped off due to being worked on. Lorin sometimes returned messages promptly but other times did not, and at one point said he hadn't gotten her messages in a timely manner because she's been working in Harrisburg (I believe) and couldn't get her messages there. Communication from Lorin and her crew would have helped a great deal, but there was very little of that. The quality of the work was initially very good, and we have received compliments from passersby, but some of the final work seems uneven me and I think it looks rushed. I told Lorin that didn't like the way one corner had been finished and she insisted it had to be done that way, but it sure looked to me like someone cut a stone too short and tried to cover it up by using extra mortar on the end. When we talked to Lorin after they finished, she initially tried to send one of her crew around to pick up the check but my wife insisted on talking to her about the quality and slow pace of their work. Lorin had explanations ready for everything, and then insisted that she had to have the full $6300 in spite of our reservations. Collection and excuses seemed to be their strong suit. The unusual way the one corner flagstone was mortared in became academic, as it fell off a few weeks later. This was my wife's pet project and I let her run with it, but in hindsight I wish that I'd more more involved. It gives me no joy to give this bad review, as they all seemed nice enough, but we are looking to have more stonework done and won't be using Picture Perfect. Update: in the year since this work was done, three more flagstones have fallen off in addition to the corner flagstone that I mentioned above. All of them are from the last section that they worked on, the part I said looked rushed.

There are many reputable companies who do tree removal, landscaping and odd jobs in this area. We will never use or recommend this company to anyone.
