Cavalier Kitchens & Baths, Inc.

There were samples of granite to look at and there were kitchen models showing the granite in a kitchen setting. When I chose a granite from the kitchen model I learned that it was no longer available, very disappointing. Then I looked at samples (limited number of samples) on the wall (little squares). I learned that a particular sample had been used by a local hotel in Winchester and agreed to go to the hotel and see it. I had been semi-talked into that granite selection, but when I went to see it at the hotel I was overwhelmed with the amount of it everywhere and decided that I probably didn't want that one afterall. However, I agreed to go to Fredricksburg, MD to look at granite slabs. I was reassured by Cavalier that there would be plenty there to choose from in that price range and I would have a lot of fun seeing all the different designs. When I got to Fredricksburg, there were actually no slabs there in my price range except the one that I had been semi-talked into, which was the same one at the hotel. The long trip to MD was disappointing and wasted my time. I tried to reach Cavalier at that time and left 3 or 4 messages over the span of a week asking my phone call to be returned. It was finally returned one week later. In the meantime, I used the computer and began looking for granite dealers and installers. I found one that I thought might be helpful, but they said they couldn't work with me because I was already hooked up with Cavalier and they ethically couldn't work with me directly. However, I had never heard their name before from Cavalier and was quite confused as to how that could be. It turns out that they were the true suppliers of the granite slabs I went to see in MD but everyone had a different name so I had no idea. Another waste of my time. By the time I heard back from Cavalier, I had found another dealer in Winchester that had their own grantite slabs to choose from and I didn't have a bunch of other people and long trips to make to see granite. When I did finally hear back from Cavalier they wanted me to go see granite slabs somewhere else but I had already made plans for the weekend they wanted me to go. I initially decided to forego my weekend plans to go see Cavalier's granite but then changed my mind. Why should I change my plans after Cavalier drug their feet for what became 10 days? So I just told Cavalier that I had completely decided to work with another installer in Winchester.

I cannot shout loud enough about the praises of this company. I could not have possibly accomplished this project on my own. The design expert was amazing. He came to the house innumerable times to discuss the design and to suggest innovations for remodeling my 40 year old kitchen. He visited frequently to check as the work progressed. He personally accompanied us on a 3 hour trip to select the proper granite slabs for our counter tops. This company was a delight to work with . My designer provided all the liaison work between the manufacturer and the sub-contractor. He provided us with the flexibility and advice we needed as the work progressed, I would definitely recommend this company.... provided they used the same designer that I did.
