He estimated that the job would take 3-4 weeks and it actually took over 5 months. Brandon had frequent medical and personal "emergencies." In the beginning we were patient and understanding, but by the end we were beyond exasperated. Brandon abandoned the job prior to the final inspection, which it failed. The inspector informed us that he never submitted the plans for the screened in porch, only the deck. He is a licensed contractor and a basic omission such as this had to be intentional. Even I know that the plans submitted must match what was built. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, he remained unresponsive to our emails, texts, and phone calls asking him to submit the required plans. We finally went to the county and asked for their help. We also hired a handyman to add the requisite continuous hand rails on the steps so it would be compliant with code. This same handyman informed us that the gutters were put on backward which explains the contstant leaking. Brandon was extremely unprofessional with his intention to deliver what was promised and paid for. Extremely unreliable with communication. I am beyond disappointed with him and would highly discourage ANYONE from ever hiring him for anything. His workmanship was excellent but the hardship he put us through was not worth it. We will be pursuing legal action against him.
Description of Work: Brandon built a deck and screened in porch.

Description of Work: The quality of the work was excellent. Reliability and promptness were practically nonexistent. The first part of the work started about a week late in late November 2013. It went smoothly and fairly well on time. The winter was extremely harsh and they could not finish the work between mid-December and mid-March. When spring came they started working other jobs because there was more money to be made there than from what was left for finishing our work. We managed to get the work finished by about mid-August and we were told that they would get the final inspection within a couple of weeks. As it turns they apparently had no intention of getting an inspection because there never was a building permit applied for. At the end of September after no response about questions on getting an inspection, I submitted an application for a build permit based on what they had done. The application was approved in mid-October and Brandon was notified that it was available. He did not respond, so early in November I scheduled a final inspection which was completed November 5th 2014. The work passed first time. | |Brandon wanted primary contact to be by texting but only responded when it suited him. Phone contact was difficult at best. Voice mails usually were not answered. | |At this point I have no idea if this company even still exists.

I think they have been doing very well. They are taking longer than anticipated to get to the project but their work is fantastic.
Description of Work: They have been doing decking and built a shed for us.

In accordance with our contract, Builder was supposed to commence work no later than June 5th and complete work by July 5th. On May 31st, Builder stated, "We should be starting your's a week from Monday," or June 10th. On June 11th, builder advised rain has put them behind schedule, and they have 4 full days of work left on their current job site. Roughly one week later, Builder emailed the ?homeowner added killing grass and laying down netting so it doesn't come back and lattice around bottom.? For three weeks, thereafter, I was unable to reach Builder by phone or email. July 8th, Builder emailed they had an illness in the family, apologized for the delay, and stated, "If you would like to cancel the contract, I understand. Otherwise, we can proceed next Monday," or July 9th (one month behind schedule). After giving it some thought, I responded, ?What assurance do I have you will start my deck on Monday and finish it within 30 days.? In other words, "Are you going to abide by our agreement?" Builder responded, "I honestly can't promise you 30 days?as behind as we are now." Considering Builder (1) did not honor our agreement and was one month behind schedule; (2) failed to communicate as appropriate, and (3) gave no assurance they would complete the project in the time allotted, we accepted their offer and terminated the agreement. We then requested that our deposit, in the amount of $10750, be returned, in full, no later than July 19th. On July 22nd, Builder emailed, "I will be mailing your check out this week." A month had gone by since we terminated the agreement and still no refund. Finally, after sending an email stating I was going to "take another approach," on August 15th, Builder hand delivered a certified check for $10,000. The builder deducted $227 for the building permit, and the rest for their time. There was no adjustment made for my time and the interest paid on $10,750. I understand this builder does good work, and their price is fair. However, it is unacceptable to make promises one cannot keep and routinely ignore the customer's attempts to communicate.
