Do you know of jobs that you you don't have to shop around? Johnny Timbers Tree Service is that kind of service for us.. Last night a goodly sized tree lost significant part of its limbs during a storm.. From the time I called John to the removal of debris was less than an hour. And at a decent price. John has taken down a few trees for us in the past and service has been likewise professional, prompt and reasonably priced. We have no hesitation in having all of our tree service needs being done by this very nice company.

They called and asked to come early and did an excellent job!

I was told they would be here at 8AM. At exactly 8AM they began work. Both trees were taken down with no damage to the surrounding trees. They left the area around the trees cleaner than when they started! I will definitely be calling them again when/if I need more tree work done. I highly recommend this company!

I called John Hull after a quick Internet search for tree crews in Williamsburg on the same day I called or e-mailed 6 other companies and he was the only one to call me back the same day (two called back two days later and the rest never called or e-mailed). He came by the same day to look at a tree that was damaged by a snow storm and he gave an honest and forthright opinion about that tree but then also gave a very reasonable quote for the rest of the yard after spending about an hour walking around the property and examining every tree. On the day of our service, he and his crew arrived on time and were very professional, hard working, and left our yard looking immaculate. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for service because you can trust John Hull as both a trustworthy and honest businessman and someone who hires other high quality staff.

John Timbers gave us detailed advice and drew up various different work and pricie options for us to consider. When we suggested additional, potentially very expensive, work he explained to us why we didn't need it and dealt with the issues at a considerably lower cost. This just added to the sense of professionalism and honesty that he and his guys exuded. When the work started, his men arrived promptly and worked safely and professionally all day for two days. When we made a couple of extra requests, they were more than happy to accommodate us, and in many cases, did not charge us for the additional work. Our neighbor has a wood burning stove and they gladly delievered the timber to his yard. At one point they had to take down a fence to get a piece of equipment into the back yard. I was nervous about this, and in taking it down, a couple of wooden slats were broken. When they left, the fence had been restored to its original condition, they having replaced the broken parts with great skill. I would also be remiss if I didn't note that we had the work done before we had had a chance to clear the leaves from our large yard. Before they left, Johnny's guys raked and blew the leaves for us. The yard looked much better than when they arrived. These guys were amazing. I can't recommend them highly enough. I didn't expect to spend so much money - I had no idea how much the work we needed was going to cost - but their prices were reasonable, and their work so professionally done, that I felt that I had received far more than my money's worth.

Contacted 3 arborists via email on Saturday morning, 11/15. John Hull, the owner of Johnny Timbers called 9:00am Monday, 11/17. He was at my home by 10:30am to make recommendations on which trees to trim and which trees to remove. Since we live in Ford's Colony, we needed to get approvals from the HOA. The HOA approved the work on Wednesday afternoon, 11/19. Mr. Hull called that afternoon and asked if we would mind him starting the next day rather than the following Thanksgiving week. We said "By all means". The next morning, Mr. Hull showed up with a crew of 6 and went over all the details with his foreman. His crew was very professional and stayed until they completed the job which was after sundown. They ground up the stumps, raked the property and cleaned up everything. The only thing not completed that day was cabling two maples which was accomplished after Thanksgiving. During the day, two neighbors came over to observe and were impressed by the speed and quality of their work and the improvement to our property. The interesting thing was that one arborist called us 3 days after I sent the email and wanted to schedule the first meeting in December. The other arborist contacted us 10 days after my email request and by that time the project was completed. I would not hesitate to use Johnny Timbers for future tree work.

His men were polite, clean, and knowledgeable. I would recommend this company to anyone needing tree maintenance and expert advice.

The work was done very professionally and in a timely manner.The crew was the most professional and courteous crew that I have ever had work for me.The price was very resonable and the clean up was superb.

All the trees and the yard in general had been very overgrown when we bought the house. The company owner came out and gave me suggestions for what he would trim and remove around the property, along with a quote. On the morning of the job, he reconfirmed the scope of work with me with the crew present. The crew did an excellent job of removing the unwanted trees, stumps and trimming everything. Cleanup of the yard debris afterwards was excellent too. Overall, I was very happy with their service and will definitely have them come back in the future.

Contractor was very gracious in trying to perform the job during a small window of opportunity that I needed. His crews arrived when they said they would and were hard working and highly respectfull. They worked extremely fast and cleaned up the work area nicely.

The crew was very knowledgable and effecient. At least one of Johnny's crew was an arborist. In lieu of spike stepping up the tree which can cause severe damage, they threw hoist lines, hauled climbing ropes, and climbed up with their safety harneses. At one point the climber moved between trees instead of coming back down and reclimbing. Very efficient use of time and my money! Their cleanup was impeccable and all of the cut limbs were slowly and expertly lowered to the ground. I would highly recommend them to anyone anticipating the need for tree work.

I was looking for a company to remove a dead tree from my yard. I'm very particular about my property, so it needed to be done right. The first company that came intended to cut down the 50 foot tree and let it fall wherever it happened to go. I stopped them before they could make the cut and fired them on the spot. John Hall promised to secure the tree using other trees on the property and cut from below in controlled sections. That is exactly what he and his company did. No fuss, no mess, no damage. They hauled away the pieces of tree and left my yard in good shape.

I didn't get any mulch from it. The service was excellent. They enhanced the care and cleaned up. They didn't damage any of my property so they did a really good job. I have used them once before.

We had a work crew at our house all day, and they cut and trimmed all of the trees we requested, as well as grounding the stumps. The trees removed ranged from a huge pine in our front yard to various pines and oaks. They removed branches that overhung our roof and our driveway, as well as thinning the surrounding wood line and trimming back our crape myrtle. They raked and removed all debris, and left the yard looking much better than when they had arrived that morning.

Both the estimate and service took place quickly and when John Hall of Johnny Timbers said they would. The work was done professionally and in such a manner that collateral damage was minimized. I was surpised when a number of trucks and workers pulled up all at once, but they went to work promptly and efficiently and were done in far less time than I thought it would take. Although the estimate was sigficantly lower than the others I received, there was no compromise in the work. A keeper.

This company was very high on my list and they knew what they were talking about. I simply went with the lowest bid which he was only off by $50.00.

Very nice and knowledgeable. Work was good and they cleaned up all tree material that was left in the yard and driveway. They did request cash, but my dad owns a business as well and that is a preferred payment with alot of companies due to the cost of credit card machines and lots of bounced checks, so that was not an issue with me. I will use them again if needed.

The workers were polite, skilled, and hard-working. When they were finished (two full days of work by 3-4 people) they cleaned up my yard and deck of all of the debris and left everything looking great. The owner, John Hull, was very knowledgeable & responsive and although he didn't perform the work himself, he gave his crew good instructions and checked back frequently to make sure things were being done correctly. He returned my initial call immediately, came out the next day to survey the problems and give me an estimate, and scheduled the work to be done within a week. They also did some major tree-work for a neighbor who was as pleased as I was. I wouldn't hesitate to use this company again.

John was very prompt in returning my phone calls. This is after leaving messages for other companies that didn't return my calls. He came out and did the estimate while I was away and called me with quote.Told me that he would do work as soon as possible. Stated that he was busy and that he would do the work within 3 weeks. They came about a week later and took down the bush quickly and cleaned up the driveway. Sweep mulch into hole.I was very pleased with work and will call him again and recommend him in the future.

They were the only ones that we talked to that would actually come out. He was there exactly when he said he would be, he took care of the damage from the hurricane, and he put us on the list for our trees to be trimmed and he actually came when he said he would. I would absolutely use him again and already plan on him coming back.

He did an exceptional job. I was very pleased. He was very professional. He left some mulch behind for me to use. I got a couple estimates and his was the best.

Our tree was leaning and the trunk cracked. So many other people had worse situations after the hurricane that we hadn't been able to get our usual tree company to respond. Eventually we called Johnny Timbers and were gratified by their quick response and scheduling. The actual removal of the tree was accomplished, so I'm glad it's gone, but several aspects of the experience were disquieting. First, they wanted to be paid in cash. This was slightly inconvenient, but we needed the tree down before it landed on our neighbor's house and they were the only tree company that had called us back. More importantly, I question the training and judgement of the men who removed the tree. John himself seemed competent and knowledgeable, but he left the job in the hands of his employees after issuing, he told me, precise instructions. The employees disregarded those instructions. One climbed the leaning, cracked tree instead of climbing a neighboring tree as planned. After he removed several branches, with the weight reduced, the tree swung up and the man cut himself in the neck with his chain saw. From inside I heard shouts of "Get a tourniquet" and saw the man scrambling down the tree while clutching his neck. Fortunately he had a trip to the emergency room but apparently no serious injuries. John was abashed, apologetic, and assured me that was the first injury they had experienced in years. Would I use them again? I suppose so, but I think I'd request that John himself remain on the site and supervise the job.

We used Johnny Timbers for emergency tree removal following Hurricane Irene. We had large trees down in our yard and on our fence. Given the lack of emergency with no trees on the house or leaning near the house, we were pleasantly surprised at how quickly they were able to come out, both for the estimate and the actual work. They were professional, on time, fast with the work, and left the area cleaner than it was before. We would definitely use them again. I can't say much about the price because we were not able to get multiple estimates for comparison in the immediate aftermath of the hurricane.

Excellent! Owner John is extremely professional. This is the 3rd service they've provided and they've done excellent work each time. Last summer they removed a very large tree leaning toward the house, and trimmed the very high dead branches on another tree - all on the same day I requested service. During the most recent service they removed all the deadwood in my woodline behind my house, and trimmed all the trees on my property. Looks great! They left my property immaculate. Had I not seen where they cleaned up my forest floor and trimmed my trees, I would not have known they were there. I will always call Johnny Timbers for future tree service.
