Lux Foundation Solution

Very, very disappointing experience; Lux replaced the foundation of my 1850 log cabin. The design was bad, the communication was bad, the execution was bad. Throughout the entire process, they were making mistakes. I now need to pay another company to fix the mess they left behind. I would strongly suggest not using this company!

After researching reviews, we contacted Lux Foundation Solutions to assess the condition of the 1930’s stone foundation of our home. On the Lux Foundation Solutions website it states, “We saw a need for a honest, reputable and dedicated company within the industry; putting customers first before profit and personal interests.” Based on our interaction with the company this philosophy is spot on. Laurie, our initial contact was professional and helpful in scheduling and rescheduling appointments. Tony, the Lux Foundation Solutions structural engineer arrived right on time, listened to our concerns, and made an exceedingly thorough inspection of the property. His expertise, guidance and understanding of our foundation issues coupled with his suggestions and knowledge to rectify water and landscaping issues was exceedingly valuable and appreciated. We highly recommend Lux Foundation Solutions.

I was incredibly happy with my experience with Lux. We had concerns about our home’s foundation and wanted a professional opinion. Keegan came out to our home and provided a very objective assessment of the issue as well as our options. Keegan was punctual and professional and provided feedback that was helpful and objective. Overall, the consultation was insightful and we have a great sense of what to monitor going forward with no cost so far. It was refreshing to receive professional and objective feedback instead of a contractor trying to maximize their profit. Would highly recommend Lux.

We needed a reliable contractor to fix problems with our foundation. Lux Foundation Solutions was recommended to us based on previous work by the West Virginian realtor we worked with for our house. First, Matt came out, performed an assessment and explained everything well. He was friendly and answered all my questions about the work being performed. That set the tone for a great experience! After the estimate was received I made an appointment. The day of the appointment Adam’s team arrived exactly on time: I live somewhat remote and that his team was on time really speaks for the company and it’s work culture and ethics! Adam and his team worked in the crawl space, which was difficult for me to get into. Adam kept me informed throughout the process and even took pictures after the job was done to show me the results. The quality of the work speaks for itself! I’m very happy to have hired Lux Foundation Solutions and they are my first company to call if another job needs to get done! I highly recommend the company for your crawl space work!

Jan. 20, 2021 We recently needed to have a major foundation issue looked at and evaluated prior to purchasing a house in Stephens City. Tony, from Lux, showed up before the appointed time, was very professional, was thorough in evaluating the foundation issue, took pics of the area in question, was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to about the issue, and he provided a very detailed report with photos. LUX came out, gave us a proposal and fixed price and carefully spec'd out the work. They had a large hickory tree to work around and not damage; their workers were polite, hardworking, competent, and cleaned up daily. The project was finished within the time frames planned and within the affordable budget we'd set out. It was a difficult project due to the hillside they were working on, and the large old patio stones that had to be taken up carefully and then reset at the end of the project. We were VERY please with the planner, the foreman, the workers and the quality of the work overall. We would hire them again for foundation and stone work.

First I just want to say how professional this company is! I had called 3 other companies that never even called me back! A friend referred Lux. They actually picked up my call & made an appointment for their guy Matt to come to my house. Matt was a consummate professional; on time, honest, knowledgeable, & experienced. He found the cause of the water problem & gave me a reasonable estimate in just a few minutes. I would not hesitate to refer this company & Matt! They are a real class act. You will be in good hands with Lux.

I had Keagan come out and do an evaluation of my situation and give me an estimate. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He sat down, did a full sketch of the plans of what would need to be done to fix my situation while he was here. I had the estimate emailed to me that evening. I have decided to accept the estimate and proposal for work and paid my deposit this morning. I can update this review once the work is complete. So far, I would recommend this company to anyone.

I'm pretty amazed at how quickly Alex and his crew were able to lift my entire house and install drainage on both sides of the house. The team was the definition of professional and knowledgeable. From the start, they were extremely considerate of my house, and put everything back the way they found it - almost like they weren't even there to begin with! Didn't even know this was possible! They didn't stop there though, they even filled a few small holes in the yard with some extra dirt and put grass back where it was messed up. All I can say is SUPER AWESOME job!!

Before we decided on LUX, we talked to representatives from 2 companies; both companies suggested the same plan of action to fix the problem. The representative from LUX was forthright about what could realistically be done in terms of lifting the garage and gave us some time to think about his proposal. The other company’s representative assured us that his company could do much more, but he refused to put that into the contract (“They won’t let me,” he said). The other company was also asking for six or seven thousand dollars more, so our choice was clear. The workmen from LUX arrived on time, and they didn’t bother us at all (no requests to use the bathroom or anything along those lines). We heard the jackhammering, of course, but other than that, the job was quiet. The foreman was always polite and ready to answer questions, and the crew always cleaned up at the end of the day (it was a 5-day job). We’re quite pleased with LUX’s work, and we definitely recommend the company.

We were not happy about having to do this work after our basement flooded...it was not in the budget. LUX was patient with all of our questions and the time we took to meet with other companies. They were also open to meeting our requests and timeline. Appreciate the professionalism and responsiveness from start to finish!

I am selling my home and the buyer's inspector found cracks in the foundation that we were unaware of. With closing approaching I needed help quickly. Keegan came to my house within a couple of days, gave me his professional assessment of the possible problems, recommended solutions to the problems and estimated best case and worst case pricing. Lux professionals were back at my house in a few days with equipment that made the digging go fast and did not damage my deck or landscaping. The solution turned out to be best case and Lux's prices were reasonable. The dig was done and the area was restored better than it was before. I highly recommend Lux Foundation Solutions.

Fantastic; the people at Lux Foundation Solutions were very responsive. They worked with us in identifying what the underlying issues were that were leading to water infiltration and were knowledgeable and skilled in fixing it. Would definitely hire again.

A home inspector indicated we needed a foundation specialist do work on our old cellar. The gentleman from Lux could have gotte. Work from us but instead was honest and said we just needed to get a handy man to do a couple things. This is how you know youre talking to a true professional.

Lux Foundations was very helpful in answering all our questions about work to be done and are doing. Was done timely and neat. Casey and Paps crews are highly recommended.

Lux foundation repair did a wonderful job at my home. I have 4 pipes coming into my home that had deteriorating seals around the pipe. The seals had deteriorated to the point that I had a large plastic box under the pipes so that after every rain I would collect the water that otherwise would have destroyed our finished basement. After small storms, I would collect a couple gallons, after very large storms, I would collect over 8 gallons of water in the box. I spoke to one contractor who suggested excavating the outside of the home. No small task since the pipes enter about 6’ below grade and it would have involved removing several established plants. I was surprised with the estimator from Lux informed me that they could solve the problem from inside the home. I was surprised that the estimator was very confident that he could not only fix the problem, but guarantee that it would fix the problem. The work team arrived on time, quickly did their work and left. When the next storm arrived, I checked the box….no water at all. Was it painless? Yes. Was it worth the money? Yes.

I was impressed with the information given at time of quote. I was told that even though some companies would do a fill repair that they would not do that type of work because they did not feel like it would fix the problem long term. They were honest and gave me another solution, that although a little more costly would permanently fix the issue. After doing some research I believed their suggestion was indeed the best way to go. My only complaint is that it took several months to get on their calendar. They were up front with this at the time I booked with them and did show up around the time the told me they would. The job was done professionally and turned out well.

They installed a sump pump and put in a trench around the inside basement walls. The water has never made it to the sump pump. My sump pump is dry. The moisture in the basement has gone from 20 cups a week in the dehumidifier to 20 + cups a night. Moisture is coming up from the floors. I call and speak to someone and then they don't call back. I have bee try to resolve this since April.

The men arrived on Monday Oct 15 and worked liked beavers until Wednesday at noon. They were very professional and explained what they were doing to me. I would certainly recommend them to any of my friends.

I hired Alex three years ago to stop the water from coming into our Florida room. After going threw four other contractors he was the only one that took care of the problem. Now we hired him again 7/19/18 to take care of the water coming into our basement. He sent out Tyrik, Corey, Nathan, Casey J;mony, Cody and Joe. They were very professional and and kept informing my husband of the progress they were making. At the end Tyrik explained everything they did and told us if we are not happy with any of the work they will fix it right now.

Lux did a first rate job at a very reasonable price (based on other bids). Their approach was to solve my problem, working with me on alternatives to give the best result. Their professionalism and thorough work effort is hard to beat in this day and age. I have recommended them to neighbors and two professional home inspectors that I know. Great crew; after all the digging, etc., they left my property looking better than before they started!

Very well. They were there when they said they would be and got the work done in the time frame promised. Only concern was the slow responsiveness of replies from the owner prior to work start. But it was worthy it because they did the work on schedule, which is what really counts.

They are the best company in the business. Very professional and honest and willing to work with the customer's time frame and budget.

The whole process from start to finish was much better then I could have hoped for. We knew we had a big problem with water in our basement and cracks in our foundation walls. Lux put our minds at easy. The repairs we done very professionally by the crew and the design representative. Wouldn't hesitate to refer them.
