Arrived 20 minutes before scheduled time. Introduced themselves and proceeded to do the job. Worked continuously until the job was done. They cleaned up all areas around their work and asked for an inspection. Signed for bill and paid.

The salesman was very friendly and honest. He explained the impact the low E windows could have on my plants and returned my phone calls promptly. It did take a month to get my windows but they are beautiful. The installers were fast, friendly and did a perfect job. They cleaned everything up afterwards. They are contracted installers though so you never know who you will get.Ask for Melvins installation team.
Description of Work: Had all 15 of my windows replaced this week. 13 were low E and 2 were regular glass panes. We payed the extra to have the sills wrapped but removed the storm windows ourselves to save money.

This process has been a nightmare! DO NOT EVER CONTRACT WITH WINDOW WORLD FOR ANYTHING. The last repair performed on the doors was 4/14/14 for an installation in DECEMBER, 2012. For over a year and a half, we have had to call Window World to come back to repair issues. After the initial install, it rained, the doors leaked. They came and caulked some more. It rained again, the doors leaked. They came and caulked some more. We had our house power washed, the doors and windows leaked and once again they were called to caulk again. They have probably been out our house about 10 times of which 3-4 times they didn't show for the scheduled appointment and gave numerous excuses and lies as to why they didn't show. During the course of this process, numerous people have come and gone from the Waynesboro office that only illustrates the incompetence of the operation. Ronald Wilson of the Waynesboro office has repeatedly lied about appointments and the scheduling. Contractors that have come to the house to install or repair have constantly complained about the Window World office in Waynesboro and how they haven't gotten paid for jobs and have made derogatory remarks concerning their fellow employees to the point that I had to tell them I didn't want to hear their complaints, just do the job. I have even written to the owner of the company Greg Deathridge as well as the corporate headquarters with my complaints. This company will never enter our house again. If we ever have to repair these doors or windows again, we will not call them back. We will pay for someone to do the job that knows what they are doing. In fact, after the door installation, we had windows replaced in the house (a $20,000 job) which Window World didn't get even considered for the job. Again, do not use Window World for anything or you will be sorry as we are.

The second time around we were less than disappointed with their service. We got the run around on when the windows were going to arrive and when they would be installed. The two additional windows didn't get installed until Fall! We called them bi-weekly to check in and got nothing but attitude and lackluster performance. We will be using another company for our next installation.
Description of Work: Window World installed 5 windows in our home in 2012 and did a great job. We had 5 windows installed in Summer of 2013 then asked for two more.

PURCHASING THE WINDOWS FROM WINDOW WORLD WAS THE MOST COSTLY MISTAKE OF MY LIFE! THE INSTALLERS DAMAGED EVERY FRAME ON THE INSIDE OF THE HOUSE ON EVERY WINDOW THEY REPLACED. WE SPENT OVER $6.000 TO IMPROVE OUR HOME, THAT SURE WENT WRONG. I HAVE CRIED AND CRIED! FOOILSH ME....I HAD NO IDEA SUB CONTRACTORS DID THE INSTALLATION. I W AS TOTALLY CLUELESS! I NOW HAVE A BID OF $18OO TO REPLACE THE FRAMES ON ALL WINDOWS DUE TO THE INSTALLATION DAMAGE BUT FOUND THAT ANY COMPENSATION I WOULD RECEIVE WOULD COME DIRECTLY FROM THE INSTALLERS...NOT WINDOW WORLD. FOOLISH ME....AGAIN. FURTHER UPDATES TO FOLLOW....LATER 5-03-14...UPDATE: WE HAVE RECEIVED AN $1800.00 CHECK FROM WINDOW WORLD TO REIMBURSE US FOR THE INSTALLATION DAMAGE OF 10-05-13

They were very professional and very thorough. They did a great job they cleaned up after themselves and did the work very quickly and efficiently. They were here when they said they would be here and it was even raining on the day they were scheduled to come and they still showed up and did the work.

After three weeks of waiting for the correct shutters to arrive, I started calling Window World. The person on the phone would take my number and say, oh, sure, we'll have someone call you right back. No one would call back of course. I had to start calling them multiple times per day until I was able to reach the manager. So when the installers finally show up today and tell me the shutters are louvered instead of flat panel (like the four pairs they already installed) and they will have to re-order, what is a person to say? I asked the head installer what the people at Window World are like, and he said, "It's all messed up. They've been moving from one building to another, and they don't know what they're doing. The people down there spend most of their time avoiding angry customers." I said, "Is my situation common?" He said, "This happens a lot. Customers are mad, and I don't blame them. They don't know what they're doing, and my crew and I won't get paid today. We won't get paid for the next time either." I called and spoke with the manager, who was polite and apologetic. She said they would re-order the shutters - this time in the correct style - and take care of it. But at this stage, who knows what they will do? The whole business could be a fraud. I have no faith that anything will be rectified, and I would advise anyone to AVOID WINDOW WORLD! I will post a follow-up when and if Window World installs the correct shutters. UPDATE: AUGUST 29, 2013 -- After a month of waiting, I finally called Window World to find out where my shutters were. They told me that they had been sitting in the warehouse with no name on them. No one called or bothered to follow up. I asked when they could be installed, and they gave me a date (8/27). An installer showed up alone. He spent almost 4 hours installing shutters for 2 windows and left, saying he would return the next day (8/28). Well, of course he did not return the next day and no one bothered to call. Two guys came today, though, and they finally finished the job. They said that one customer has been going back and forth with them over a window job for a full year and that these problems are not uncommon with Window World. I hope if you are considering windows or shutters that you will benefit from my ordeal and find more a more professional company.
Description of Work: Two and a half months ago, we ordered new shutters. A month ago, they came to install them and discovered that the salesman who came to our home had measured incorrectly. They installed the four sets that were correct and said they would order the correct ones and come back. They finally came back today, but this time the shutters were the wrong style.

The day the work was done went well but now we have different feelings. I would not hire them again and would not recommend them to my family or friends. We have called four times since May 25, 2013 to get someone to come check out the situation. No one has returned our phone calls. What is the next step to take? I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Description of Work: Installed 14 windows and disposed of old windows. They were punctual and finished the job (installation) in a sufficient amount of time. It's been 10 years since the job was done and now we have problems. The paint is peeling from the sashes, one window has a poor seal and needs to be replaced and another window leaks and has caused damage to the wall. Now the wall needs to be repaired. All windows need to be caulked.

The price was the cheapest of three estimates. The salesman was quite thorough in going over all the many options. The two workmen arrived on time and completed the job in one and a half days as promised. They were neat and cleaned up any mess they made both outside and inside the house. We thought the quality of the windows very good. The workmanship looks very good both inside and out. Before they left they went over everything about the windows with my wife and made a last check of each window to be sure it was perfect. We are very pleased with the price we paid, the quality of the windows, the quality of the workmanship, and the courteousness of the workers.
Description of Work: WWorld replaced 18 windows in our home with double hung vinyl windows. The windows were replaced from the outside so they covered all the outside trim with aluminum trim.

Window World were really, really nice. Extremely good to work with. When we had a problem with one of the windows they came out right away. I had no complaints at all. They were all very knowledgeable. They weren't pushy, they just stated the facts. They said this is what we have and this is the price.

Unfortunately their customer service was horrible, they had poor responsiveness, they did a false lead test on the paint, and they took a very long time to finish the job. They even left many tools and nails at our home after installing our windows. On the other hand, they had reasonable prices in the window installation and we got what we paid for.
