We had to put off getting it done due to a financial issue that came up. However, they were very prompt and professional when they said they'd be out for the quote they came out in a timely manner and provided a quote. They checked a few times to see if I had chosen someone to which I said we were putting it off til a future date. Overall they weren't pushy and were very professional offering good quality products as well. I would recommend them.
Description of Work: provided a quote for siding and window replacement no actual work was performed.

They were prompt in coming to my house to analyze the problem of the loose siding, arriving on time, and getting right to work explaining to me what they recommended as the best course of action. They promised a prompt cost estimate, and they sent it to me in less than 24 hours, just as they said they would do. Peak Roofing promptly responded to a question I had e-mailed them, requesting a clarification on the work for which they had sent me the estimate. We scheduled the work, and the workers got to my house on time, and got right to work, no gabbing or gossiping or delay at all. They did the work in a very professional manner, and removed the old siding as they had promised. The work was well done, on time, and at a competitive price. I will be using them down the road for roof work, although I hope that will not be for a few years. Very pleased to highly recommend Peak Roofing, They get the job done, and answer questions about the work in a prompt and professional manner.

After a few unsuccessful attempts by a handyman service to repair a roof leak, I did what I should have done at first---Call a Professional. Peak came out promptly and identified the problems, gave a fair cost estimate, and we proceded with the repair. Everything was completed as quoted and in good time. Then in April we had our home for sale, and a different problem was noted to need correction. I again called Peak and spoke with Dawn, a co-owner, explained our problems, and she worked us into their busy schedule. They replaced some gutters and installed guards. Ours thanks also to Robin, the coordinator who brought all our requests in on time We can not say enough about Peaks professionalism, courtesy and timely responses to all of our requests. All work was completed as quoted and on time. We would highly recommend them not only to our friends, but to everyone.

I called Peak Roofing based on the reccomendation of a friend and their rating on Angie's list. They were very responsive, timely, cost effective and professional. The leak was fixed without any drama often associated with local contractors. We are very pleased and have reccomended Peak to many of our friends.

Tried to sell me a new roof when I did not need one: I called Peak Roofing initially to fix water intruding coming into a kitchen window. My roof is 13 years old. They sent out a fellow named Buster who believed calking and replacing a pipe vent collar and calking over a few roof nails would stop the leak. Buster had arrived on time and wrote an estimate for $350 and a tech named Donnie came out the next week to do the work and spend under 2 hours doing the work. When he was finished, he explained what he did and showed me photos of a few of the spots. Donnie stated that the pipe collars lasted about 7 to 12 years so I asked him to inspect the rest of the roof which he did and stated that he would need replace to remaining pipe vent collars and would inspect the rest of the roof (flashing around the chimney and ridge vent) calking and sealing if needed and wrote an estimate for $375 and scheduled for the next week after 2PM. On that date, Donnie showed up unexpectedly five hours early at 9AM knocking at the door. He then worked for about 1 1/2 hrs. (I estimate that Peak charges about $150.00 per hour per worker). He left around 10:30AM without proving any feedback. So I later called him asking how things went. He reiterated what he had done and at the end of the conversation stated "Well you need a new roof." I thought that was strange considering that he had not stated that when he was originally on the roof and would preform $725 in repairs if I needed a new roof. I questioned why I needed a new roof and he said that he had "noticed that a few shingles showed signs of deterioration." I kept asking him to explain what ?signs of deterioration? meant (of course everything will show signs of deterioration unless it is new and thus means nothing by itself) and after being unable to explain in any meaningful detail he said " Well you will need a new roof in a few years." Again this was vague and is a generalized statement (of course it will need replacement in a few years but not immediately. Also, if only ?a few? shingles needed replacement then why not propose to replace just those? If I actually needed a new roof then why did he not 1) leave a note on my door to call the office (or the office to call me) and then schedule a meeting to explain why and show photos to back his recommendation up? 2) Or Speak to me in person (I would have heard no feedback had I not called HIM). I know why. What Donnie was doing was fishing and I did not bite. When I started to ask questions that he could not honesty answer he changed from "right now" to years down the road. Some people would become afraid and not question and in this context would have unnecessarily paid thousands have a roof replaced. Later, I hired another contractor to inspect the roof and they said that it did not need to be replaced and showed no excessive signs of deterioration. I later called the owner ? Dawn and told her what had happened. It is a shame when a contractor had an employee that lacks integrity and tries to do unnecessary and costly repairs. She asked me to send it the bill and I did. Later, I hired another contractor to inspect the roof and they said that it did not need to be replaced and showed no excessive signs of deteriation. GOOD: Punctual on one of the two appointments/Good response time BAD: Nearly cost me @8,000-12,000 in unneeded repairs! / Showed up five hours early without advance concent and notification.
Description of Work: Inspect roof. Caulk where needed. Replace three pipe vent collars.

Thank you (deleted member name) for the rating. First I want to apologize again for the misguided information Donnie provided you. I understand your concern but as I stated on the phone when we spoke that I would have a conversation with Donnie in regards to his incomplete assessment given and I have told him in the future if he feels as though additional repairs are needed to provide photos and a detailed description of the work needed. I also want to apologize for the inconvenience of his early arrival, my husband also works nights so I understand that scheduling service work at your home can be tricky, and a simple phone call would have prevented this inconvenience. I can honestly say I have not had this problem with any of my employees in regards to their integrity. I know most contractors get a bad rap for a reason and I would say Peak Roofing is not in the same category nor will we ever be. My brother and I own Peak Roofing and will see to it that this will not be an issue again. If you would like to discuss your concerns further I am available anytime. I can be reached at 703-753-4585. Sincerely, Dawn Smith

I looked them up through Angie's List. Apparently they have a pretty good office there. When you call over there, they know who you are so the second time they know that you are calling in looking for Steve, for instance. Steve is the guy who comes out to look at the roof. He's the project manager. He says what they are going to do and works with us on the price. Each of those functions they've done rapidly and they've done within days and they've been pleasant. The working staff is good, experienced, and they know what they are doing. I've been using them for two years.

Excellent experience. On the day of the Barn roof replacement, the crew showed up before 7 am and 6-7 of them worked without stopping until almost 4PM. I was a little worried that I never saw them take lunch or even a break and asked the foreman if they were at least going to stop for lunch, and he mentioned that I might notice one of them disappear every once in a while while they grab a sandwich or a short break in the truck. So the worked never stopped. While they worked, someone was always cleaning (even using a leaf blower along the gutters), and when they finished, they all fanned out to pick up any remaining debris. The finished roof looks fantastic. Prior to turning to Angie's list, I had turned to a local company that had been rated #1 by our local newspaper the past four years (they proudly hang a banner in front of their business touting that they are #1 in Warrenton), and I wasted more than a month constantly waiting for them to return my calls and emails, only to receive an estimate via voicemail that was more than double what the insurance adjuster estimated. The cost was incomprehensible, and when I asked for a written breakdown, I received another voicemail from the owner indicating that putting details such as that in writing took too much time, but would be done within the contract if I agreed to hire them - and that's when I joined Angie's list and found Peak roofing. Peak's estimate was about 50% below the first company, and Peak sent a very detailed contract that helped me easily understand where the cost was. Everyone at Peak was very personable and always polite, and the work was excellent. I would highly recommend peak roofing.

The heavy winds that came with the late December/early January storms to northern Virginia peeled about 12 feet of aluminum trim or "wrap" from the wood that runs along and under my roof line about thirty feet off the ground. I started calling a number of contractors listed on Angie's List but, because of the holidays and the number of houses that were affected by similar wind damage throughout the area, I was having difficulty finding a contractor who could come out and look at the problem. Happily, when I called Peak, they were able to send somebody within two days. Peak's estimator was very pleasant and professional and provided me estimates to either replace just the pieces of wrap that had been torn off by the winds or replace the entire length of wrap under the portion of the roof where the damage had occurred. As the difference in price was not that large, I opted to replace the entire section. The work was then scheduled and, on the appointed day, Peak's team arrived and performed the repair in my absence, leaving the invoice. When I got home that evening and inspected the work that was done, I was very pleased. The new wrap looks great and I have no reason to think that it will not hold up to future winds.

I called Peak Roofing Contractors because after Super Storm Sandy, I'd experienced leaking in the ceiling of my sunroom. They don't have weekend hours, so I took off a day at work to accommodate my appointment time. The person that came out - I believe his name was Steve - was wonderful. He was prompt and thorough. He walked the entire span of the roof, investigated and took pictures of all areas that were in disrepair. He took time to explain to me what happened, and what I could expect to occur with the repairs. He answered all of my questions, and I felt satisfied that I had a solid understanding of both the damage that occurred and the price range I could expect for the repairs. He said that overall my roof was fine, but he wanted the Windows and Siding guy (the owner) to come out and take a look. He said that the office would schedule an appointment, and that I didn't need to be home at the time. Great! So the appointment date came and went, with no follow up. I called and spoke with Denise, who told me she didn't see anything on the books, in terms of a missed appointment, but she'd research it and be in touch. Again, no response. I called the following week, because I thought I'd found a reputable company and after the great initial experience, I was interested in continuing the business transaction to include the repair, the Dry Wall repair/replacement and painting. I spoke to Sarah and let her know that I'd previously called and that I wanted to know when someone could come out to finish the estimate. Again, no response and no follow up. I am really disappointed that they turned out to be so unprofessional. Follow Up - Dawn Smith called me to talk about my experience and what could be done to make it better. She listened and understood my concerns, and addressed them to my satisfaction. Her brother came out to do the final assessment, and they provided me with a concise list of items to be repaired, at a reasonable fee. I was all set to move forward with the repairs, but my neighbor, with whom I share a roof, got her half replaced, which ultimately fixed my leak, as well. I called and spoke with both Dawn and Robin to let them know the problem had been resolved, and they were great. I would definitely call Peak Roofing if I needed their services in the future.

First job we hired them for went great. Although second job is not done, I was impressed with the time they took to assess the damage to do the estimate. The guy who initially came out said he thought the problem with the window was more extensive than a simple leak around the top of the window and had his window guy come out to look at it so we could get the right estimate off to the insurance people before they started the work. I'm sure they will do a great job when they do it.
Description of Work: We have used Peak Roofing twice. In June, we noticed several pieces of our siding had blown off after a bad storm and we were heading out of town for a 2 week vacation in just 2 days. We called several roofing companies and everyone was too busy but several recommended Peak Roofing. They came out the next day to give us an estimate then put some of the siding temporarily in place to keep it from being damaged further. They set up a time while we were out of town to come and fix the siding and replace about a half dozen shingles. They stayed in touch with us via email so that we knew the house was being taken care of. They told us not to worry about paying them until we got back to inspect the work. The roof repair was approximately $300. After Hurricane Sandy we had lots of shingles blown off and water leaking into our window. We decided to hire Peak roofing again. They found the source of the leak that our insurance adjuster hadn't and worked with us to make sure our estimate was written so we could get the compensation we needed to fix the problem (water was coming from about 3 feet above the water under the siding, and not just around the window like the insurance adjuster thought). We had about 20 shingles that needed to be replaced on a 2 story single family home. The cost to repair and haul away the trash will be $550. The repair to the water damage down the side of the house and into the window was a more extensive repair job and will cost $830. They need to remove the siding from both sides of a top double window and siding above bottom double window. They have to install new house wrap to plywood and repair area. They also have to install new tape to both double window and plastic flange and wrap. They have to install all siding that was removed at beginning of repair to repair the area and seal all the joints in window and siding and do clean up. Before signing the estimate we got an email informing us of a holiday special and they took $75 off the price.

The person who came out for the estimate was prompt and professional. The person who came out and did the work was friendly and professional. He showed me the old collars and I could see the dry rot. He told me how long they can be expected to last (7-8 years), and answered all my questions. My only complaint is that the repairman did not arrive as scheduled. A little after the 2 hour window I called the office. The person on the phone was apologetic and sent a repairman right over. I understand that mistakes occur, and Peak was good about correcting it once I called them. The people in the office answer the phones promptly and are always courteous and professional. It's hard to judge the quality of the work because we haven't had a serious rain since the repair. Judging by the time spent with the repair and what the repairman told me he did, and by the responsive office, the work is likely good.
Description of Work: Peak replaced 2 pipe collars, and sealed around them. During hurricane Sandy water was apparently blown into the house where the old collars were dry rotted.

I scheduled an appt. about two weeks prior to this day(11/27/12). Took off work to be home during the hours of 11-1pm for an estimate to have window leak looked at that happened during the big storm. I got a call finally at 1:45 pm by Mike to reschedule for a better time. (Really I took off work for you to show up). I come from a military background and I cant stand when people are late and are also late to call. I gave a "D" on responsiveness because I got a call from on 11/26/12 in the afternoon from Sara?? to remind me that they would be coming out the next day for an estimate. Well they failed. I will not be using them.

Member, First I want to apologize for the inconvenience yesterday; I understand how important your time is. I spoke with David who was scheduled to be at your home. Because of the rain he did try to keep all of the scheduled appointments and I agree that the call should have came in earlier to atleast keep you informed. I will implement a new procedure so this does not happen in the future and I know this does not help with your lost day and can't apologize enough and would like to be given the opportunity to gain your trust. My brother and I own Peak; our objective was to change way customer service is provided and this is not what we intended on doing. If you decide to give us another chance please contact me directly and I will have my brother out to your home to address the problem. Thank you for your time and understanding.
