MONTGOMERY SHADE & AWNING

Montgomery Shade and awning were wonderful. They made multiple visits and spent time with us to ensure we got the products we needed and the colors we wanted. They had to design and build a custom awning to go over our basement stairwell - results are great. Installation of both the fixed awning and the retractable over our deck was well-done. We couldn't be more pleased - highly recommended.

Mr. Montgomery was able to identify the problem over the fun. He was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Saving us the money and his time of sending someone out to look it. I would most certainly use his service if ever needed again.

Rob Montgomery came to the house for the initial estimate and brought samples for the awning we were looking to purchase. He was very knowledgeable about the different manufacturers and their track records for quality and service. We sent him a photo of the patio before he came and he brought samples to provide some excellent color and style options. He also gave us honest feedback on some of the options, including lighting and wind sensors. The installation was professionally done by Ron Montgomery and we are extremely pleased with the look and functionality of the final product, which covered a large part of our concrete patio that is exposed to direct sunlight about 10 hours a day in the summer. The shade provided by the awning makes the patio much more usable and is very attractive. The whole process for the custom awning was about 3 1/2 weeks from estimate to installation.

The awnings look great and I look forward to a cooler house this summer. Mr. Montgomery was extremely knowledgeable about the product and provided many choices from which to choose. He follow-up promptly as well. His son was great at the installation as well.

We put our work out for competitive bid among three companies. We liked Montgomery best as they were the most responsive. Fortunately, their bid was also the most reasonable. The work was done beautifully, we were kept informed, and every employee representing the company was very professional. I would hire this company again. I recommend their work without any reservation.

Mr. Rob Montgomery returned my initial call within a day. He set up an appointment quickly and was very prompt and professional. He explained all of the options available and patiently answered all of my questions. I like dealing with companies that install and service their products, and this family run company does that. Approximately three weeks later the awning was installed, by Mr. Montgomery's son, which went great. I really love it!

I left a couple of messages for several people and they were the only ones who responded, I liked the guy a lot he was very professional but their price looked a little high. I think it was family owned and I think he is an independent contractor and he was willing to follow up with any body else I would be happy to work with the guy. but my husband would have wanted somebody cheaper. I personally would like to use them.

In 2003, Montgomery Shade and Awning installed a retractable awning on our townhouse. In 2014, after 11 years of use, we needed to replace the fabric on the awning to shade a planned patio. The original awning frame and mechanism are still in great shape, and looks brand new with the updated fabric. Both times, we had a great experience with this company.

We had a pretty challenging situation. We built this gorgeous covered deck and got all this trip added to the columns. One thing we did not foresee was that in the afternoons, the sun would still come and bathe the entire deck in sunlight and thus heat, rendering our very expensive roof useless! We wanted something that did not block our view, did not interfere with the trim on the columns, did not have cables for our puppy and kids to mess with, and above all cut down the heat and the blinding sun. Montgomery Awnings came with the perfect solution. We had this very large shade made that runs on side tracks (instead of cables). It basically turns our deck into a screened in porch (at least on one side). It was a lot more than I wanted to pay, but SO WORTH IT! Rob the owner was VERY professional, knowlegeble, and responsive. The folks installing it were awesome. They took so much care and time to make sure that our trim did not get damaged. They did an awesome job! I am very very happy with my new shade.

I had some growing issues with my heretofore long-standing awning company and decided it was time to find another company to put up (Spring) and take down (Fall) my patio awning each year. I check Angie's list and decided to try Montgomery Shade and Awning. Mr. Montgomery answered the phone directly and in short order scheduled an appointment for his internal crew to install my awning for the coming season. His son, Brian, and another gentleman arrived right on time and install my awning for the season, clearly knowing exactly what they were doing. Our condo association is doing balcony repair and maintenance, which will require temporary removal of our awning frames. I mentioned this to Brian and he indicated that when the time comes this will pose no problem for Montgomery Shade and Awning to do the necessary removal and reinstall of the awning framework. This was a very efficient, informative, and pleasant experience. I believe I have found my new awning company.

Rob came out to examine a project i had in mind to minimize rainwater coming down our basement walkout. After a close examination and discussion on a sweltering day, we concluded that his products could not be used at this part of the house. Rob was clear, professional and a delight to deal with.

I worked with Rob Montgomery directly for everything regarding the awning project. He initially gave us a very detailed estimate which included a picture of the suggested awning superimposed over an actual picture of the back of our house. That picture was actually the selling point for us, because my family is located overseas and we needed to put up an awning over the back door of our house in Sterling because of flooding issues. I was able to email the picture of the awning to our HOA which helped smooth the way to getting it approved. We were supposed to match the color of the new awning to our front door and Rob took the trouble to go back to our house and compare a swatch of the awning we had in mind to the door to ensure that it matched. Every interaction we had with Rob Montgomery was professional and pleasant. His estimate was a bit higher than the two other companies that we got quotes from, but the difference was negligible combined with the Angies List coupon. I would definitely recommend this company.

I was trying to find a solution to a drainage problem in my garage and considered using awnings. The gentleman I spoke with, after I explained my problem, didn't believe that awnings were my solution. Instead, I used Drainage & Erosion Solutions (Mark Lane) who put in a channel drain. So far, with all the rain, I've had no problems. I thought that the advice from the Montgomery Shade fellow was honest and that made me feel that he was trustworty and interested in pleasing customers, not just in raking in money.

They were great and competitively priced. The crew was nice and did a good job. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

The work took longer than expected mainly because to try to save us money they were trying to find the replacement piece for the broken awning but after three tries which they did not charge us for the trips we ended up ordering a new one. They were very courteous and knowledgeable.

They had a very good selection at reasonable prices. Quality was very good. I would buy from them again.

Mr Montgomery returned my call and detailed some things to check, first, before I engage his company. I did those checks and found the problem causing the awning motor to not work (reset fault breaker on outside AC receptacle). Yes, I would absolutely use (and recommend) Montgomery Shade & Awning again. Thank you, Mr Montgomery.

We were needing some shade for our back patio. We called them up to have an awning attached. They showed us different samples that match our house. A two year installation warranty and a 10 year lifetime warranty came along with the purchase of the awning.

Rob Montgomery has been a pleasure to work with. He was extremely knowledgeable in helping us through the process of repairing our awning and frame after it was damaged in a storm. He returns calls quickly, is very reliable, and has helped us keep our awning looking good. Their annual cleaning and service fee isn't cheap, but they do a great job.
