Edit: I must pay someone else to properly perform the repair of my driveway I thought I was paying J&K to do 8 months ago and repair the additional damage its caused. In June of 2019 I contracted with J&K to repair the driveway at our home. We were still in the process of moving in when it washed out due to lack of maintenance the prior fall/winter. Leaves had been allowed to collect in the swale and dammed up in a heavy rain. The house and driveway have been here since the late 80â s and from our understanding had never had this issue even in the year prior that had record amounts of rain. Within 5 months of the repair work we had significant washout of the driveway in 2 areas. One of these areas was the area that had previously washed out and triggered the need for repair. This area was clogged with leaves that had come down in a storm and were bound in place by gravel that washed off the driveway causing further washout. The other area higher up the driveway did not have an issue prior to the repair. I contacted Jason about these issues in November and he came out and regraded. This simply made the driveway passable until the next rain but didnâ t fix the issue. While he was here, he stated that there was nothing he could have done to prevent the washout which occurred. I have since been in contact with no less than 5 other companies to determine what needs to be done to properly route rainwater to prevent further washout and to repair the driveway again. All these companies have made the same observations outlined below: 1. The swales were improperly repaired a. What was installed to manage the rainwater by J&K was a berm not a swale. b. Swales should be LOWER than the road, not higher. In many places the road is lower than the swale coming off a large open field on grade which is why the driveway is being eroded with every rain, large or small. 2. The size stone that was amended into the existing swales was too small to deal with the volume of water that will be coming off the hill above the driveway. 3. The wrong gravel was used on this steep portion of the driveway and added to the issue of the swales becoming clogged and forcing the water onto the driveway causing further washout. 4. One of the existing culvert inlets was completely buried in the swale and should have been replaced. Caveat Emptor. I should have requested references rather that taking him at his word that he was knowledgeable about about the services he sold me. This was an expensive lesson learned. Original Review: I spoke with other companies to repair my gravel driveway and ultimately chose to go with J and K because Jason spent the most time discussing with me what was going on and what he proposed to do to fix it and why. I was impressed by the fact that he quoted me a price and timeline and stuck to it.

was supposed to be delivered Friday. They called me and asked if they could bring it sooner because weather was calling for rain and winds. I agreed and they brought it out 2 days earlier. I understand this may not always be the case but they managed to squeeze my delivery in. Very pleased with pricing and quality of Top Soil. Will definitely call again if I need more of J and K's service. I will also recommend J and K Grounds to people I know.
