The owner of this company, Josh Williamson, owns or formerly owned J Williamson Homes, Inc. We have recently been contacted by creditors of J Williamson Homes who are owed for materials and services performed at our residence. The creditors claim that Williamson informed them that he is unable to pay for the supplied materials and sevices because, “...the customer has not paid.” Williamson was paid by us in full and on time, in excess of $150,000 and paid in advance for work he did not complete. Creditors of J Williamson Homes, Inc and/or Josh Williams, who desire additional information may reply to us.

This business previously operated as “J Williamson Custom Home Builders.” The workmanship was sub-standard and in many cases faulty. The contractor was paid in full and on time. The last installment was paid in full on the contractors promise to complete the project and to correct the faulty workmanship. To this date he has not done so. Even though the contractor acknowledged that he would correct any faulty workmanship through his warranty. We have had to hire other contractors to complete the project, an effort that is on-going. We have been contacted by suppliers who claim that he has failed to pay them for materials purchased for our project. One supplier was told by the conractor that we have not honored his invoices. Clearly untrue. the contractor was paid in full and payment is well documented. One contractor claims that they are owed in excess of $10,000. This contractor has proven to be unreliable, questionable in his business practices and sub-standard and faulty in his workmanship. He has changed his DBA at least twice in the last several years. We suggest that it would be prudent to be very cautious in dealing with this contractor.

This company also does business as J Williamson Custom Home Builders. Faulty and sub-standard workmanship has resulted in Thousands of dollars in re-work paid to other contractors. This was a home remodel project valued at more than $150,000 for which the contractor was paid in full. The final payment was made on the contractor's promise of completion. The work was not completed. Nor has the contractor corrected a long list of warranted deficiencies. The Contractor proposed the project to be completed in twelve week. After nine months the project remained incomplete. It is now more than one year and the contractor is non-responsive. (We have collected a file of 150+ photos of documented and verified matters of poor, careless and sub-standard workmanship) The contractor has failed to pay certain of his suppliers and sub-contractors for work performed on our remodelling project. The contractor claimed, to the supplier, that we, “...the client...”, have not paid his invoices. An assertion easilly disproved. The contractor claimed to be a “full service building contractor”, with “crews” working throughout northern Virginia. Not true. We learned, and the contractor acknowledged, that he was a sole operator, with occasional part-time help. When questioned his part-time helper admitted to having little or no building trade experience, and admitted that previous work experience was as a swimming pool cleaner, We suggest that one should be extremely wary and cautious when dealing with this contractor. He has been removed from HomeAdvisor for complaints of faulty workmanship. He offers services under several names, all using the same project photos.
