Description of Work: I have a service contract with Appleton Campbell for four HVAC units and one heat pump unit. They came today for my summer cleaning of the HVAC units. I needed filters and coolant today. The $286 dollar charge was for filters and the coolant needed. Appleton Campbell is a first rate company. They are absolutely the most expensive of the HVAC companies I priced, but they are always prompt, friendly, knowledgeable and reliable. Those factors are all important to me, so I pay a bit more for my service.

Description of Work: I had my HVAC replaced and two new registers (vents) installed to distribute the air more effectively. I have used Appleton Campbell in the past as well. I'm sure you could shop around and get a slightly better price, but their service is well worth the cost. They are very professional and take pride in their work. They arrive on the job on time and they charge you what they estimated...even if it takes a little longer than they planned. I feel they want to get the job done right.

Description of Work: I had 2 busted pipes under my cement slab. They located the leaks, jack-hammered through the cement, dug out the gravel, repaired the pipes, and put everything back, including filling in the cement. And before they did all that, they put valves on the pipes so I could turn them on and off separately to get at least some water running in my house until the work was done. Professional, courteous, punctual, pleasant to work with, and very conscious to clean up after themselves.

Description of Work: About ten years ago, we got a quote from Appleton Campbell on a basic job (a gas line installation) and their price was way higher than any of the others. After that, I often noticed their trucks in our region and I wonder why people would use such a high priced company. Well, fast forward to 2012 and we started having issues with our heating system at a rental property we own. Several HVAC companies were convinced they had solved the problem, but many months and several thousand dollars later, the problem kept recurring. We finally called on Appleton Campbell and they solved the problem promptly and efficiently. Their office staff, communication and everything about the way they run their business is professional and friendly. Yes, they are pricey, but the job will get done right the first time. Well worth the price!

Description of Work: We have an annual service contract with Appleton Campbell ($348/year). They service our oil furnace and air conditioner seasonally. For the last service, they did the routine maintenance (replacing the oil filter, nozzle, cleaning, etc) and noticed that the ignition transformer had a really low arc. The technician didn't think it would last the season and recommended replacing it (the unit is from the 1990s). When he got out to the truck, he realized that the part he had was used so he left to get another one and returned shortly to complete the work that day. The tech (Travis) is knowledgeable and polite and I trust his advice. They're not super cheap, but they do good work and have been keeping our old systems running for a long time.

Description of Work: We had our air conditioner fail on us during the summer. Appleton Campbell came out right away and did a fix, but it didn't last. The unit had trouble again in Dec. We called them out and they found something else wrong and fixed it. So far, so good.

Description of Work: Appleton Campbell visited me initially for a furnace checkup that I purchased through Angie's List. Mr. Etter arrived on time, was very knowledgeable, explained all the steps he conducted and their results, was professional, and polite. I signed up for their Home Savings Agreement! Then the very next day, Christmas Eve, my plumbing sprung a leak! Plumbing services are also included in my new Agreement, but with it being Christmas Eve I wasn't sure anyone could come...was I wrong! They immediately sent out Mr. Settle and through knowledgeable diligence, he found the leak and repaired it! Christmas Eve dinner with my entire family went on without a hitch thanks to Appleton Campbell's professional and prompt service! Definitely a happy 2015 for me!

Description of Work: Inspected the heating system, did some cleaning, found some sort of bacteria which they would have removed but the entire thing would have cost quite a bit of money. They offered us a service contract which we did not sign at this time.

Description of Work: Repaired HVAC system. We subsequently purchased a service contract for HVAC, electral and plumbing which included a complimentary diagnostic of the three systems. We are very pleased with the service and would recommend Appleton and Campbell.

Description of Work: Our AC went out on second floor. They came out immediately and on time. The assessed and fixed the unit for about $700, but two days later it went out again. They returned immediately, found the problem and they seemed to have fixed the problem. Very professional. We are hoping that the fix will last a couple of years so we have time to save for a new unit which will cost approximately $8000.
